This Tip Could Cure Your iPhone 4S Battery

As someone who has been lucky enough to spend the last few months testing iOS 5 in various beta stages, it has to be said that the version we're all currently enjoying has come a long way since the early days.

When Apple released the iOS 5 GM not that long ago, I instantly noticed that my iPhone 4's battery life was lasting roughly half of what it was before. A coincidence, I thought. It'll sort itself out, I presumed. After getting the iPhone 4S, the problem persisted. Twitter and forums on the web over lit up with similar problems, and a few fixes were suggested, mostly to no avail.

There may be light at the end of the tunnel. Switching one little toggle in iOS 5's Settings app may hold the key to curing your iPhone 4S battery...

Enterprise Market Leaning Towards iPhone and iPad Instead of Android

Apple's iOS platform rules the roost in the enterprise, according to new figures released by Good Technology.

The firm, which offers push e-mail, mobile device management, and security products for mobile phones, released the numbers that appear to show both the iPhone and iPad dominating device usage in the enterprise market.

According to Good Technology, the results show a "clear preference for Apple products," with the figures seemingly proving their point conclusively...

If you're the kind of iPhone user that reads blogs about, well, iPhones, then the chances are you also fall into the category some like to call "geek." It's no longer a derogatory term; being a geek means you tend to like things like smartphones, computers, and comics.

If all that sounds like you, then chances are you'll like this latest tidbit to come out of Hollywood. It turns out that the upcoming Avengers movie was partly filmed on one of Apple's little iPhones, instead of the rather expensive cameras movie studios usually use.

Apple: iPhone Rumors Negatively Affect Our Sales

Apple held a conference call yesterday, shortly after announcing its Q4 financial results.

The results made interesting reading, with Apple falling just short of the expected revenue figure of $29.41 billion, making a not-inconsiderable $28.3 billion instead.

Apple Announces Record-Breaking 4 Million iPhone 4S Sales for Opening Weekend

Today Apple announced that first weekend iPhone 4S sales topped 4 million. After selling 1 million units on day one, sales reached over 4 million worldwide at the end of the weekend.

The iPhone 4S has sold twice as many units as the iPhone 4. Apple reported 1.7 million iPhone 4 sales for launch weekend last year.

Separately, 25 million users are using iOS 5 already. 20 million users have also signed up for iCloud.

You have to feel for Sprint customers, don't you? First they had to wait four years to get their hands on an iPhone, and now that they have it, their data network doesn't appear to be coping too well.

Remember the iPhone 4 antennagate debacle? For those of you who don't, when Apple released the GSM iPhone 4 last year, users began to notice that when the handset was held with the left hand, connecting the two antennas, cell reception dropped significantly (this was dubbed the "death grip"), often resulting in complete signal loss.

Although Apple tried to fix the antenna problem with a software update, the update did not completely rid the iPhone 4 of the issue. Apple then decided to give out free bumper cases, which seemed to prevent the antenna problem from occurring.
