Developers Working on iPad App for British Prime Minister

We knew the iPad was making its way into governments around the world, but we had no idea to what extent. The Telegraph is reporting that the British Prime Minister is having a customized iPad app built for government use.

No, Apple's tablet isn't going to help David Cameron run his country. But it is going to enable him to stay on top of news and other important information. Think Flipboard, but with a lot more classified information...

Cat Playing Fruit Ninja is Super Awesome

We've conducted extensive tests here at iDB, and we have come to the cat-egorical (see what we did there?) conclusion that there is nothing more awesome on this planet than cats. Ceiling cat, keyboard cat, the list goes on.

Now we can add Fruit Ninja cat to the growing list of fantastic felines, after a video surfaced of one such feline showing that fruit just who the boss really is.

Just watch this video, we dare, nay double-dare you to not raise a smile. Perhaps even giggle a tad...

Rumors of January iPad 3 Release Put to Bed

At iDB, we don't just pass along the Apple rumors; we also try to follow them on their road to either truth or debunking. And in the case of the recent Digitimes' iPad 3 report, that journey took less than 24 hours.

Yesterday we told you about Digitimes' latest claim that Apple would unveil two new iPad models at the Macworld (now iWorld) conference in January. But today, Jim Dalrymple of The Loop has effectively put that rumor to bed.

60beat’s $50 iOS GamePad Controller Brings the Console Experience to Mobile

iOS is growing to be a major player in the gaming space. When you are selling as many iPhones and iPads as Apple is, not to mention iPod touches, then it is almost an inevitability that your own App Store is going to become a mecca for all manner of games.

With its touch-based interface and huge screen, the iPad in particular has become something of a giant in the mobile gaming world, but the same touch screen that is is biggest strength can also be its biggest weakness. That's why this new accessory really caught our eye.

Coming from accessory company 60beat, this new controller gives gamers a more familiar way of controlling their games. If iOS gaming is to truly take over, then there needs to be a natural way to play traditional games, and that natural way involves a couple of thumbsticks and some hardware buttons.

Griffin HeloTC iOS-Controlled Helicopter Review

The market for iOS-controlled vehicles has become rather crowded over the last 12 months. We've seen everything from robots to helicopters and everything in between. But most of these remote control devices are usually too pricey to go mainstream.

Griffin's Helo TC  breaks that mold by being one of the first iOS RC vehicles under $50. And although it has been available for a few months now, I just recently got my hands on one.

Thieving Christmas Scrooge Gets Caught By Stealing Neighbor’s iPad

This isn't the first time that Apple's Find my iPhone service has helped to recover a lost device, but with Christmas involved in this particular story (as well as a resoundingly happy ending) we thought we would share it.

At around 3:30am on Christmas morning, a Westlake Village man was awoken by the noise of a burglar stealing Christmas gifts from his house. Amongst them was an iPad, which had, thankfully, already been activated and set up with an Apple ID. After a short foot chase the thief got away, but not for long.

The next morning, the owner of the iPad set about tracking the device and discovered that it was only a few doors away...

Rumor: Apple to Release Two iPads in 2012, Better Battery Life Expected

An interesting rumor from overseas publication Digitimes this evening claims knowledge of Apple's iPad plans for 2012. The sometimes-accurate publication reports that Apple is planning to unveil two iPad models at once next year during the Macworld|iWorld conference in January.

Apple allegedly has two iPads for the low-end and high-end consumer markets, with the latter model boasting double the battery life of the iPad 2. This isn't the first time we've heard such claims, but this new report seems questionable.

Cregle iPen is the Only iPad Stylus You’ll Ever Want

The humble stylus is something of a polarising accessory for iPad fans. With Steve Jobs famously being very anti-stylus, many Apple devotees look down on the pen-like writing device. But should they?

With the iPad proving so popular in many business situations, being able to write – and draw – precisely is a feature that many of us would love. Yes, there are styluses (or is it styli?) already out for for iPad owners, but if you've ever used one you will know that they have two major drawbacks: an unusually large nib, and their inability to work when your hand is resting on the screen.

Now a Kickstarter project is aiming to fix both problems, and if the videos are anything to go by, Cregle's iPen may well be the solution we have been looking for...

How to Get the iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak Using RedSn0w

By now you've probably read our earlier report that there is finally an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1. This is thanks to the amazing work of iOS hacker pod2g, but also thanks to GeoHot, who found some of these exploits a while back.

As we mentioned in our previous post, there are two ways to untether iOS 5.0.1. If you're already jailbroken, you may want to use Corona Untether 5.0.1. If, however, you're still running a stock iOS 5.0.1 version, then this RedSn0w tutorial is for you...

Over the past few weeks, the entire jailbreak community has watched pod2g work diligently on the iOS 5 untethered jailbreak. All eyes have been on the infamous hacker as he has tested his exploit on device after device running iOS 5.0.1.

Tonight, it appears that all of his hard work has paid off. After waiting more than 2 months for an untethered iOS 5 jailbreak, it's finally here. You can now completely jailbreak any A4 device running iOS 5.0.1.
