On September 9, during the Apple media event, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max devices were announced. iPhone 18 Pro continues to advance the form factor, with expected upgrades like the A20 Pro processor and enhanced battery life. iPhone 18 Pro is a similar form factor to the iPhone 17 Pro, in that it keeps very similar overall dimensions and the same Camera Plateau. Inside the camera, is the all new 48MP Fusion main camera with variable aperture. This is this most notable and “pro” feature for the new devices in 2026. Variable aperture allows for things like pro-style controls in the native camera app.
New colorways allow others to notice you’ve upgraded in burgundy and glacier. A next-gen vapor chamber promises to make computing even cooler, which will be necessary with the iOS 27 upgrades to on device AI computer for Apple Intelligence.
A smaller Dynamic Island becomes yet more dynamic by including the ability to utilize three Live Activities such as a timer, directions, and sports scores. As anticipated, the price is slightly higher than last year, which is most certainly part of the current RAM shortage.
