Help Clarc rescue his robot friends in this action puzzle adventure

Put “drunk” and “robots” in the same sentence and you’ve won me over already. That’s what the witty developers at Golden Tricycle did when they described their newest submission to the App Store.

CLARC is a grid-based action puzzle that uses spatial reasoning as a mechanism for moving from one location to the next. Where do the drunk robots come in? Well, if it weren’t for those alcohol-swilling androids, CLARC wouldn’t have had to clean up after them…

Rovio Stars releases cute wordsearch game in the App Store, Word Monsters

Rovio Stars, the Angry Birds maker's third-party publishing arm, has released a new iOS game in the App Store. Word Monsters for the iPhone and iPad, available now on a free-to-play basis, tests your language skills by pitting you against players from all around the world for the title of the ultimate Word Monster.

Developed by Raketspel, it's a fun take on wordsearch, with a twist: players get to choose their preferred theme of words they want to compete in, ranging from fruits names to  food to 80's pop songs and more. Then, it's race against the clock to find all the words in the right order to complete the level...

‘Threes’ developers publish gigantic work log in response to clones

Clones of popular games are a common sight in the App Store. They're a way for not-so-creative developers to make a quick buck by riding the coattails of hit titles and trends—the recent flurry of Flappy Bird copycats is a great example of this phenomenon.

But while we had a good laugh at some of the ridiculous FB clones, like 'Flappy Beard Hipster Quest,' it's not so funny for developers. In fact, the creators of the hit game 'Threes' recently took to their blog to vent their frustration with the growing list of ripoffs...

Gameloft’s ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ now available in the App Store

As promised last month, Gameloft has released its highly anticipated title 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' for iOS. The game is a tie-in to the upcoming Marvel movie of the same name, and is now available for download on your iPhone or iPad.

The good news is this doesn't look like your typical tie-in. The graphics sort of resemble those found in Borderlands and other comic book-style games, and we're hearing that Marvel actually co-wrote the story. Keep reading for a complete overview...

Perfection! Do you have what it takes to achieve this puzzle?

My dad fit into a category many would call “perfectionist.” His socks were neatly folded and color-coded. The hangers in his closet were always spaced exactly the same distance apart. He even scrubbed out the garbage cans on a weekly basis. Living up to his standard of perfection was hard. I guess that’s why I gave up and turned into a slob.

Perfection! (the game) is a fun puzzle title that is just as hard to be successful at as it is to live up to a perfectionist’s standards. Only, it is actually fun. You won’t have to clean the bottom corners of your closet with an old toothbrush or restack dishes that don’t sit properly in the cupboard. You just have to play the game. Perfectly…

Popular PC game ‘Faster Than Light’ landing on iPad next week

Good news for gamers this afternoon, as it's been announced that the popular PC/Mac title Faster Than Light will be making its way to the iPad next week. The developers announced the release date via the official FTL Twitter account, and said it will be accompanied by a free desktop content expansion pack.

For those who are unfamiliar with FTL, it's a top-down, real-time strategy game that has players managing a crew and its faster-than-light spacecraft as it flies through multiple galaxy systems. In it, you'll face off against rebel and other hostile forces, recruit new crew members and ensure your ship's safety...

Classic action-adventure game ‘Little Big Adventure’ lands on iOS

Good news for 90's gamers this morning as the classic action-adventure game 'Little Big Adventure' is now available in the App Store. This means you can download the title, which first launched on the PC back in 1994, to your iPhone or iPad and let the nostalgia kick in.

For those of you who aren't familiar with it, Little Big Adventure is considered a real-time pseudo-3D isometric game. You play as Twinsen, a young hero living on Citadel Island on a world ruled by the evil dictator Dr. FunFrock, who is charged with protecting his planet...

Study shows mobile game developers are seeing success with TV ads

With more and more users moving to smartphones these days, some major mobile game publishers have taken their advertising business to television in an effort to cast a wider net. Chances are you've seen one of these commercials within the past month, including this one for Clash of Clans.

And you're probably going to start seeing a lot more of them, because apparently they're working. According to new data from analytics firm App Annie, some mobile game developers are seeing significant boosts in App Store and Google Play Store rankings for their titles following TV campaigns...

Symbol Link is Tetris designer’s newest puzzle game

If you didn’t already know it, Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris in 1984. His simple shape-dropping mechanic changed the face of video game puzzles for decades to come. He probably didn’t know just how important his role in the world would be, but he is legendary.

Symbol Link is a puzzle game designed by the famed developer Pajitnov. Players connect two shapes that trigger an automatic connection of other shapes. It may never reach the level of success that Tetris had, but it is fun just the same…

Defenders combines tower defense and CCG into one epic game

I am a fan of tower defense games. They can be surprisingly exciting if the game is made well. Of course, everyone knows I’m also a fan of collectable card games (CCG). I couldn’t call myself a true gamer if I didn’t have a few Magic cards in my possession.

Defenders mixes both the tower defense and CCG genre into one heroic adventure. Beat bosses, loot cards, and build the most powerful weapons this fantasy world has ever seen…
