Mapsic incorporates music controls into Apple and Google Maps

Hot off the heels of Cydia’s latest repository refresh is a new jailbreak tweak called Mapsic by iOS developer Antique, which incorporates an elaborate music player experience into the Apple and Google Maps apps.

The screenshot examples above depict how Mapsic looks in both apps. In both instances, the music player is both low-key and visually-stunning.

IntelligentPass intelligently disables your passcode in low-risk environments

Privacy and security are essential for most smartphone users, and that’s why Apple offers some of the best alphanumeric and biometric security measures in the industry. That aside, you don’t always need your smartphone to be secured like Fort Knox, and that’s where a new jailbreak tweak called IntelligentPass by iOS developer Luke Muris comes in handy.

Just as the name implies, IntelligentPass intelligently regulates your iPhone’s passcode (or another authentication method, such as Face ID or Touch ID) so that your handset only asks for it in specific user-configurable scenarios.

This tweak replaces iOS’ app deletion buttons with storage usage indicators

You can enter ‘wiggle’ mode on your iPhone or iPad by tapping and holding on any app icon from your Home screen. While in this mode, tiny ‘X’ buttons pop up at the top left of every icon, letting you delete your apps one at a time.

‘Wiggle’ mode is incredibly easy to use, but Apple ignored a lot of potential opportunities to make it more intuitive. Fortunately, a new free jailbreak tweak dubbed SizeFinder by iOS developer Squ1dd13 can help in that department.

Dimid augments the display dimming functionality of iOS

Your iOS device comes with display dimming settings out of the box, but they aren’t very robust. Those looking for additional flexibility in this department might take an interest in a new jailbreak tweak release called Dimid by iOS developer LonestarX.

With Dimid, you’re no longer limited to the chintzy display dimming options Apple provides in iOS. Instead, the tweak augments the experience with a slew of new customization options.

This tweak eliminates the two-step process to force-close apps on the iPhone X

Although I love using my iPhone X, I have a gripe with how the App Switcher works on this particular device. More specifically, you need to tap and hold on App Switcher cards before you can swipe up to force-close their respective apps.

Given that this two-step process isn’t required on any other Apple handset, it took me a while to get used to, and I still don’t like it. On the other hand, anyone on the same page can now take advantage of a new free jailbreak tweak called SwipeUptoKillX by iOS developer CydiaGeek.

RWP Slider lets you tweak iOS’ Reduce White Point feature on the fly

It’s only natural to fancy a lower display brightness when you’re in a dark environment, such as your bedroom during the night. Doing so makes viewing your display more comfortable by reducing the strain on your eyes.

But another eye-saving feature that comes bundled in iOS is Reduce White Point, and a new free jailbreak tweak called RWP Slider by iOS developer SpicaT makes it substantially easier to use.

Simulate iPhone X-like swipe gestures on unsupported handsets with HomeGesture

The iPhone X doesn’t have a Home button like traditional iPhones do. Instead, Apple has users swiping up from the bottom of the display to leave applications and unlock the handset.

But even if you’re still rocking a traditional Home button-equipped iPhone, you can take advantage of a new free jailbreak tweak dubbed HomeGesture by iOS developer MidnightChips to simulate the iPhone X-like swipe gestures on unsupported devices.

PurpleBar makes it easier to discern whether Do Not Disturb is enabled on the iPhone X

The iPhone X’s notch meant that Apple needed to re-engineer the Status Bar for optimal space-savings. Unfortunately, one of its shortcomings is that it can be difficult to discern whether Do Not Disturb mode is enabled at first glance.

PurpleBar is a new free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer smokin1337 that aims to solve this problem, and it does so by colorizing the Status Bar text purple whenever Do Not Disturb is turned on.

This jailbreak tweak lets you use the current time as your passcode

A few years back, a controversial jailbreak tweak was released that allowed you to use the current time as your iPhone’s unlocking passcode. Intriguingly, that idea appears to be making a comeback following the release of Electra1131.

Enter TimeToUnlock, a new free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Jake James that revives this relatively classic passcode concept on jailbroken iOS 11 devices.

This tweak automatically pauses music playback when muting your device

iOS has one of the best music listening experiences you can get on a mobile platform, but one of the biggest pet peeves I have with it is how the operating system continues to play my song even after I mute my handset's volume.

Fortunately, a new jailbreak tweak called AutoPause11 by iOS developer Pa1n fixes this problem on Apple’s latest iOS versions, and it’s available as a free download from Cydia as of this writing.
