UNAgames, the two person iOS development team from Italy, is getting ready to release its latest game on September 1st. Titled 'Tapsteroids' and available as a universal app for both iPhone/iPod touch and iPad, the game is a fast-paced action shooter very much in the mould of the arcade shooters of yesteryear.

AirPlay Mirroring Could be the Most Exciting Feature in iOS 5

AirPlay has traveled a rocky road over the last year or so. It just doesn't seem to be garnering much support from third party developers (hardware and software).  But that may all change with iOS 5's new Mirroring feature.

We told you about the iPad 2's mirroring capability back in June, but the feature seems to have greatly matured since then. Apple'n'Apps posted another video showing off the new iOS 5 option, and trust me, it looks awesome...

OMG! Sega Bringing Sonic CD to iOS!

Those of us old enough to remember the Sega CD, or Mega CD (depending on where you happen to live), will readily admit that it holds a special place in our hearts. The Sega CD was arguably ahead of its time, and eventually died off with the arrival of competing products from Nintendo and Sony, not to mention Sega's own Saturn.

Before it was killed, the Sega CD did survive long enough to give us one of the better Sonic games to come to any platform since the original release.

With that in mind, I can perhaps be forgiven for squealing like a schoolgirl when I say that Sega is bringing Sonic CD to iOS...

Firemint’s Spy Mouse iPhone Game Now in the App Store

Firemint, the team behind such hits as Real Racing and Flight Control, have today released their next big iOS game: Spy Mouse. We've told you about Spy Mouse before, and after a long wait, the game is finally available to download from the App Store.

The puzzle game follows the adventures of Spy Mouse, Squeek, and features the same line-drawing gameplay as the hugely popular Flight Control series of games...

Logitech Announces New Suction Cup Joystick for iPad

Even though Apple's iPad has become something of a casual gaming heaven for many, its lack of any physical buttons can still be seen as a negative on occasion. Recognising that unavoidable fact, Logitech has taken to the drawing board/CAD machine, and shown off a new accessory that they hope will appease those of us who always prefer something hardware-based.

Logitech has announced a new joystick that attaches to an iPad via the magic of a suction cup. The design should make for easy attachment and detachment when you're not going to be eating ghosts in Pac Man...

Retro Favorite Theme Park to Get iOS Remake

We can't be the only ones who spent an inordinate amount of time playing games like Theme Park and Sim City when we were kids. There was a real thrill to building your own city or amusement park, and in the case of Sim City, destroying it with a selection of disasters, ranging from floods to alien invasion.

Sim City has already made its iOS debut, thanks to Electronic Arts, and Theme Park will soon join the ranks of other PC titles that have been ported to iOS...

If a 7-Year-Old Can Develop an iPhone App, So Can You

We've all had great ideas, or at least ideas that we thought were great. The problem is taking those ideas and turning them into real, physical products. It's the age-old problem that we've all experienced, and countless great apps, games, and hardware products have never been built thanks to simple laziness.

We need to push on regardless, and that's just what Connor, a 7-year -old iOS developer has done...

The Last Rocket is a Delightful 8-Bit Arcade Game for iOS [Review and Giveaway]

It's not very often that you'll come across a game in the App Store that's as charming and addictive as The Last Rocket. Created by established developer Shaun Inman, The Last Rocket is one of those few iOS games that consists of total excellence in every area.

If you're a fan of the retro, 8-bit style of gameplay, then The Last Rocket is a title you can't ignore. It looks and feels like it could run just as well on the NES as it does on the iPhone and iPad.

Ask Jeff: Episode 03

In this week's episode of Ask Jeff, I tackle a whole host of interesting questions. This episode dwells more on the personal behind-the-scenes side of things, so I hope you folks enjoy.

Should Nintendo Make Games for iOS?

It's no secret that Apple's iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad have made some serious waves in the gaming industry. Their direct line to the App Store with thousands of games available for $1 or less suddenly made other bulky, more expensive handsets seem out of date.

Apple's latest victim is Nintendo's new 3DS offering. The company's recently had to slash its price in the face of poor sales — after not even 6 months on the market. The downturn has Nintendo's investors wanting answers. Perhaps they should look into developing for iOS...

D.A.R.K: This Sci-Fi iOS Shooter Should Be on Your Short List

D.A.R.K. is the latest from Chillingo, and it is a dark outer space horror-themed dual stick shooter. It’s set up as a super-soldiers vs. aliens mystery thrill ride in 3D.

As a member of the D.A.R.K. Squadron, the player is on a mission to find out the events leading up to the current condition of the USS Stormbringer, an enormous military ship. The D.A.R.K. Squadron is a military unit - think outerspace version of the Marines, or maybe Special Forces. Serious tough guys suited up in serious armor and packing serious heat...
