Oceanhorn, Badland and more discounted in ‘Amazing Fantasy Games’ sale

Gamers will be interested to know that a number of high profile iOS titles are currently on sale in the App Store. Apple is highlighting 16 games in a temporary 'Amazing Fantasy Games' section, which have all been discounted by at least 50% for a limited time.

The games include titles from the popular Final Fantasy franchise, the hit action-adventurer Oceanhorn, and the winner of multiple Apple design awards, BADLAND. There are also some lesser known titles, such as The Bard's Tale, Hero Emblems and more.

Catapult puzzler ‘Warhammer: Snotling Fling’ goes free as Apple’s App of the Week

Apple has just named “Warhammer: Snotling Fling” its App of the Week for this week. This means that from now through next Thursday, you’ll be able to download the game for both iPhone and iPad for free—a significant savings of $4.

Snotling Fling is essentially an over-the-shoulder take on Angry Birds, set in the Warhammer universe. Players are tasked with slingshotting hapless goblins at enemy soldiers in an attempt to stop Gorbad Ironclaw and save the Realm.

Lead the Rebel Alliance to victory in Star Wars – Heroes Path, now available in App Store

Based on Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, the original Star Wars film, Disney's just-released Star Wars - Heroes Path for the iPhone and iPad challenges players to lead the Rebel Alliance to victory in a series of movie-based puzzles.

The game revisits the original storyline of the Rebel Alliance's quest to blow the Death Star to pieces and beat the Galactic Empire. In Star Wars - Heroes Path, you'll enjoy cartoonish renditions of the movie's iconic characters such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, RS-D2 and many more.

Premium turn-based strategy game starring Lara Croft previewed, hitting iOS later in the year

A stylized Tomb Raider game is coming to mobiles as developer Square Enix Montréal announced at E3 Lara Croft GO. Created by the same team that brought you award-winning strategy game Hitman GO, Lara Croft GO is billed as a ground-breaking mobile experience.

The game takes place in a long-forgotten ancient civilization and adopts a turn-based concept with exploration and puzzle solving thrown in for good measure, a recipe which has made Lara Croft, the heroine of the hugely successful Tomb Raider series, such a phenomenon in video games.

Apple Watch hacked to run native Flappy Bird clone game

Native apps are indeed coming to Apple Watch in watchOS 2, but one developer is jumping the gun and showcasing his native clone of Flappy Bird running on Apple's wearable. Developer Hamza Sood, who is no stranger to hacks, tweaks and leaks involving Apple products, just revealed his Flappy Bird clone on video.

Telltale Games announces its first ever mini-series called The Walking Dead: Michonne

Telltale Games, the makers of rather popular cinematic cross-platform games such as The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and The Wolf Among Us, announced at E3 a brand new miniseries for the iPhone and iPad called The Walking Dead: Michonne.

Developed by Skybound and framed as the next installment in The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series, the game takes place between issues #126 and #139 in the comics series and features the particularly popular Michonne character.

Bethesda releases Fallout Shelter for iOS

In addition to announcing Fallout 4 for the Xbox, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC coming this November, publisher Bethesda Softworks today released Fallout Shelter for the iPhone and iPad, officially the first iOS game set in the Fallout universe and the very first Bethesda title on Apple's mobile platform.

The game puts you in control of a state-of-the-art underground Vault from Vault-Tec. Fallout Shelters challenges players to build their own fallout shelter and keep its dwellers happy and safe from the dangers of the Wasteland.

In Siegefall, you arrive in a realm where battles are being fought over lands and crowns.

While full details are yet to be released, we know that Siegefall will let you summon dragons, control heroes, smash gates and “leave nothing but rubble behind.”

Action RPG ‘Slayin’ goes free as Apple’s App of the Week

Apple has just named “Slayin” its App of the Week for this week. This means that from now through next Thursday, you’ll be able to download the endless action RPG for both iPhone and iPad for free—a respectable savings of a buck.

In Slayin, players are asked to choose from one of six heroes, including a knight and ninja, and use them to slay as many monsters as possible. They'll also be tasked with leveling up and acquiring equipment and spells along the way.

Angry Birds Fight! arrives worldwide: challenge others to real-time puzzle battles

For those wondering, Rovio Mobile isn't done with its Angry Birds franchise yet. Quite the contrary, the Espoo, Finland headquartered developer, publisher and distributor of video games is now known as Rovio Entertainment Ltd. to reflect its broadened scope on entertainment in general.

Thursday, Rovio added another Angry Birds game to its roster. Called Angry Birds Fight! and releasing worldwide today following a recent soft-launch in Japan, it's basically a match-3 frenzy that challenges you to join some pretty crazy real-time battles of strategic, bird swapping agility with other players.
