IGN names ‘Trivia Crack (Ad Free)’ its Free Game of the Month

IGN has named the ad-free version of the popular social trivia game 'Trivia Crack' its Free Game of the Month for June. This means that you can snag the premium title, which typically sells for $2.99, for free for both your iPhone and iPad.

Kabam teases upcoming RPG ‘Star Wars Uprising’ for mobile

Star Wars fans have a lot to be excited about this year. There's, of course, the new movie 'The Force Awakens' that's coming out in December, and a handful of new console games are on the way. There's also apparently a new RPG coming to mobile devices.

Publisher Kablam has begun teasing its upcoming role-playing game, Star Wars Uprising, which will debut on various mobile platforms later this year. It will serve as a bridge, connecting the events of Return of the Jedi and this year's new Star Wars film.

Minecraft: Pocket Edition introduces skinning feature, adds fishing, chicken jockeys and more

Originally announced back in March, a substantial update to Minecraft: Pocket Edition 0.11.1 has finally landed on the App Store today bringing loads of new features such as skins, chicken jockeys, fishing and much more.

Yes, you can now stuff wolves in boats and go fishing in Minecraft, isn't that wonderful? All joking aside, you can now customize the appearance of your Minecraft characters with skins.

Skins are sold through the In-App Purchase mechanism, and some don't cost a dime. In addition, players can easily upload custom skins to the game and even create their own ones using the Minecraft: Skin Studio app or any image editing software for that matter.

Hitman: Sniper now available in App Store

Building on the success of Hitman Go, a $4.99 turn-based stealth strategy game which made its App Store debut in April 2014, developer Square Enix Montréal on Thursday released another iOS game focused on Agent 47.

Called Hitman: Sniper, the assassination game puts you in the shoes of a contract killer. It's set in Montenegro, a country in Southeastern Europe with a coast on the Adriatic Sea and bordered by my home country: Croatia.

Hitman: Sniper challenges you with multiple scenario-driven contracts on a hugely varied map that contains many targets and assignments.

Rumor: Nintendo’s next-generation gaming console is based on Android

Nintendo's next-generation console codenamed NX, which the company is currently developing, is going to use Android if a report Monday by Nikkei, one of Japan’s largest newspapers, is anything to go by.

According to one insider who spoke with Nikkei, the Nintendo NX will supposedly be built around the Android OS, which should help “speed up getting all game developers on board.”

It would also mean that development could be expanded to smartphones, tablets and other devices, this person added.

Google’s ‘Cardboard’ virtual reality app now available on iOS

In addition to Google Photos, Google announced at I/O today that it would be bringing another Android app over to iOS: Google Cardboard. The Mountain View tech giant says the software will "bring virtual reality to your iPhone."

For those unfamiliar with Cardboard, it debuted at last year's I/O conference with the promise of bringing affordable virtual reality to the masses. All it requires is a cardboard viewer that you can either make yourself or buy for $20.

Arcade puzzler ‘Hyper Square’ goes free as Apple’s App of the Week

Apple has just named “Hyper Square” its App of the Week for this week. This means that from now through next Thursday, you’ll be able to download the popular arcade puzzler for both iPhone and iPad for free—a solid savings of $1.99.

For those who haven't played Hyper Square before, it's premise is fairly simple: place all squares in their respective targets as fast as possible. As the difficulty increases, watch the amount of time you have get reduced to fractions of a second.
