Apple investing nearly $2 billion in new European data centers in Ireland and Denmark

Apple on Monday announced plans to pour €1.7 billion, or approximately $1.92 billion, into new data centers in Ireland and Denmark, its biggest European projects to date. One will be located in County Galway's Athenry in Ireland and the other in Denmark’s central Jutland.

In line with Apple's commitment to clean energy, each 166,000-square-meter data center will be powered by 100 percent renewable energy sources “from day one”. The upcoming facilities are expected to begin operations in 2017 and will support Apple’s online services for customers in Europe, including the iTunes Store, App Store, iMessage, Maps and Siri.

Imps In Tokyo is a unique atmospheric adventure arcade game

Most of us have wondered where dreams come from at least once or twice in our lives. There is even a whole industry around interpreting them. What if there was a whole other dimension where creatures were fighting to protect our good dreams from other creatures that are trying to steal them.

Imps In Tokyo is an adventure arcade that tells the story of good creatures protecting our dreams from bad ones. If they don’t stop the invasion, we may never sleep soundly again.

Six months with the Dell UP2414Q 4K display

It's been over 6 months since I purchased a 4K Dell monitor to pair with my 15" Retina MacBook Pro. In my initial post, I talked above the setup, my hands-on experiences, problems I encountered, etc. Now that I've had some time to really use this monitor on a regular basis, I'm here to provide you with a little more commentary and insight on my purchase decision. If I could go back in time, would I do it all over again?

Although Apple has closed the signing window for iOS 8.1.2, there's still an inkling of hope for those of you who are developers and wish to jailbreak your devices. How so? iOS 8.2 beta 2 is still being signed by Apple, and this firmware is still jailbreakable.

Apple airing new commercial ahead of the Oscars which showcases iPad use in filmmaking

Ahead of the annual Academy Awards ceremony tonight, Apple has started airing a new television commercial which highlights iPad use in filmmaking.

Titled ‘Make a film with iPad,’ the 30-second spot is narrated by director Martin Scorsese, widely regarded as one of the most significant and influential filmmakers in cinema history.

Unsurprisingly, the Oscars ad has been shot entirely on the iPad Air 2. The video closes with the ‘Everything changes with iPad’ tagline that was also used in Apple's previous iPad commercial, aired on the day of the Grammy Awards, which highlights how tablet can be used as a music-creation tool.

Developer makes Android Wear compatible with the iPhone

I have to admit that I've always been somewhat intrigued by Android Wear devices. Some of them, like the Moto 360, look genuinely interesting to me. Unfortunately, none of these devices are compatible with the iPhone.

That looks like it might be changing soon, however, as Mohammad Abu-Garbeyyeh, a Cydia developer who's responsible for jailbreak tweaks like DoubleTapToSleep and SpotlightSiri, has come up with a standalone solution for iPhone owners who want to use Android Wear devices.
