How to watch the Oscars on your iPhone, iPad

ABC will be airing the 2015 Oscars on Sunday at 7PM EST/4PM PST from Dolby Theater, and if for some reason you aren’t able to catch it on your television set, ABC is one of the networks that has actually embraced online streaming.

You can access the live stream — of the pre-show, full ceremony and Jimmy Kimmel’s post-show — through the Watch ABC app for iOS available on the App Store.

If you reside in Chicago, Fresno, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, Raleigh-Durham or San Francisco, you’re good to stream, no questions asked. Sadly, these appear to be the only locations that streaming will work- tell us if you’re seeing different.

Live streaming is only available if you are a cable or satellite subscriber for any of these TV providers: Comcast, Cablevision, Cox Communications, Charter Communications, DISH, DirecTV, Midcontinent Communications, Verizon FiOS, Google Fiber or AT&T U-verse.

After the ceremony airs live, the broadcast will be uploaded to Watch ABC for viewers to watch on demand for only three days. It will be taken down on February 25, according to Mashable.

Viewing can also take place on the desktop through Oscar.com, ABC.com, and WatchABC.com.

Grantland has a stellar preview of the awards show. American Sniper has my vote for Best Picture.

You can download the Watch ABC app from the iTunes App Store.
