Some experts think iPhone 8 will use flat rather than curved display

Previous reports from publications like The Wall Street Journal, Commercial Times, The Korea Herald and Nikkei, including high-ranking sources at suppliers such as Sharp as well as research from analyst from Barclays Research and KGI Securities, have predicted that iPhone 8 would come outfitted with a 5.8-inch wraparound AMOLED panel protected by a curved 2.5 glass cover on the front much like the cover glass on the iPhone 6s/7 series of phones which have the slightly curved edges.

However, several sources interviewed by MacRumors think iPhone 8 will have a flat rather than a curved screen due to lower manufacturing cost and better yields.

PulseHUD displays a pulse animation when changing your iPhone volume

When it comes to iOS volume HUDs, opinions are all over the place in terms of what it should look like. Apple puts it right in the middle of the screen, while much of the jailbreak community tries to relocate it to the Status Bar, where it’s out of the way of everything.

On the other hand, a new free jailbreak tweak called PulseHUD by Ziph0n takes everything into a completely new realm by displaying a smooth pulse animation in the middle of the screen as you adjust your volume.

QuickPowerMode toggles Low Power Mode when you tap on the Status Bar battery icon

If you use Low Power Mode to save power when your battery percentage gets too low for comfort, but hate how cumbersome it is to turn the feature on, then a new free jailbreak tweak called QuickPowerMode by Olxios&Nico should be the next thing you install on your jailbroken iPhone.

This tweak makes it easier to toggle Low Power Mode. With it, all you have to do is tap on the battery icon in your Status Bar, and this turns the feature on or off.

This tweak removes the dots from the iOS UI

All across iOS, from the Home screen, to the Lock screen, to Control Center and so on, dots of all kinds appear whether to indicate a page in a page-driven UI, or to let you know something's new on your device.

While some people don’t mind them, there are a number of people that hate seeing dots across their operating system, and a new free jailbreak tweak called NoDots10 by harrywantstodev lets you erase the various dots from all over iOS.

Acapella III lets you control your music with gestures instead of buttons

Music lovers can make great use of Acapella III, the third iteration of the popular jailbreak tweak series by Pat Sluth that gives power users a way to do more from the Now Playing interfaces in iOS by way of gestures.

You can use these gestures throughout iOS, whether you’re in Control Center, on the Lock screen, or viewing the Now Playing interface or the mini player in the Music app, and as a result of the new gesture-driven music controls, most of the button-based controls are removed from the iOS interfaces.

StoreSwitcher lets you easily switch between App Store accounts

If you have more than one Apple ID associated with your iPhone for downloading apps from the App Store, then having a way to switch between your accounts more easily might be at the top of your wish list.

A new jailbreak tweak called StoreSwitcher by iOS developer Ori Kadosh is a new release that was designed with these kinds of people in mind.
