ColoredScrollIndicator brings colored gradients to iOS’ scrollbars

Just a couple of days ago, we showed you a snazzy new jailbreak tweak called Color My Scrolls that could be used to colorize your iOS device’s scrollbars. We liked the concept because it was a simple way to add personality to your device, but at the same time, it came with a price tag and was somewhat limited in terms of features.

Given the aforementioned circumstances, we’re excited to showcase a newly released and free jailbreak tweak called ColoredScrollIndicator by iOS developer LacertosusDeus. In case the context clues haven’t given it away already, this tweak is effectively a free alternative to Color My Scrolls that offers a lot more by way of customization. For that reason alone, we think it might be worth checking out.

ControlWidget lets jailbreakers add a Today widget to Control Center

If there’s one thing I like about how iOS has changed over the years, it would have to be the introduction of widgets via the Today page. Available via the Lock screen, Notification Center, and to the left of the first Home screen page, the Today page offers a quick and unmistakable glance at pertinent app data from widget-supported apps. But what if you wanted to access your widgets from more places?

Unfortunately, Apple keeps widget access locked down to a very small number of places in iOS, but with the help of a newly released and free jailbreak tweak dubbed ControlWidget by iOS developer Marcel Braun, you can now enjoy a Today widget of your choosing in the Control Center interface.

Checkra1n team teases pwned Mac Pro, ‘the most expensive device ever jailbroken’

Most associate the term jailbreaking with devices like the iPhone, iPad, and in some cases, even the Apple TV. But when gifted hackers began experimenting with the powerful checkm8 hardware-based bootrom exploit earlier this year, things got more interesting. In March, for example, checkra1n team member Luca Todesco demonstrated nifty hacks on the OLED Touch Bar of a T2 chip-equipped MacBook Pro.

But the MacBook Pro isn’t the only Apple computer that sports a T2 chip. As a matter of fact, many do, and with that in mind, it may not come as much of a surprise that the checkra1n team has taken things a step further by jailbreaking yet another T2-equipped Mac – the elaborate and expensive Mac Pro:

Sonos says Spotify operates an even-more closed ecosystem than Apple

Sonos cofounder John MacFarlane has hit back at Spotify's cofounder and CEO Daniel Ek who recently whined about Apple's platforms not being, in his personal view, open enough to third-party apps like Spotify. In a post on Twitter, MacFarlane called the real irony the fact that the Swedish company operates an even-more closed ecosystem than the Cupertino tech giant.
