Resolution Setter lets iPhone users with TrollStore change their display resolution

TrollStore users have yet another interesting app that they can test out starting Tuesday morning called Resolution Setter by iOS developer haoict, which just as the name implies, allows the end user to change the resolution of their iPhone’s display.

Resolution Setter app to change iPhone's display resolution.

Resolution Setter comes packaged as an .ipa file that can be installed and perma-signed with the TrollStore app. It can be installed on both jailbroken and non-jailbroken devices, which is particularly impressive as resolution changing capabilities have traditionally only been available to jailbreakers.

Citing the /r/jailbreak release post, Resolution Setter is safe to use and shouldn’t have any negative impact on the device. In fact, simply rebooting the device serves to revert your resolution back to the original.

As depicted in the screenshot example above, the app comes with several presets that match corresponding devices, but users can also enter an entirely custom resolution if they don’t want to use any of the presets. A big red Set button appears to save the user’s custom resolution setting.

Resolution Setter supports all iPhones that can run TrollStore, which in other words means devices running iOS 14.0-15.4.1 (and some iOS 15.5 beta versions).

If you’re interested in learning more about Resolution Setter, or downloading it on your compatible device, then you can head over to the project’s GitHub page. You can also find tutorials for installing TrollStore on both jailbroken and non-jailbroken devices below:
