Apple TV+ shares official trailer for workplace thriller ‘Severance’ starring Adam Scott and Patricia Arquette

Severance has been a long time coming for Apple TV+. The workplace thriller was first announced way back in November of 2019, with the news that Adam Scott (Big Little Lies) attached to star. It didn’t take long before we learned that Patricia Arquette (The Act) would be taking up a lead role in the project as well. It wouldn’t be until a little over two years later that we finally saw the first teaser trailer, though.

As usual, the teaser only gave us a glimpse of what the upcoming series will offer. Not revealing much about the overall story. However, with the first official trailer, that changes a bit. This one measures in at just under three minutes in length, and we get plenty of footage to watch.

As for the story, it revolves around Scott’s character, Mark Scout, and the other office workers he manages who have had their memories “surgically divided” between their work lives and their personal lives. Per today’s official trailer:

From Ben Stiller and creator Dan Erickson, Severance centers around Mark Scout (Adam Scott), a leader of a team of office workers whose memories have been surgically divided between their work and personal lives. This experiment in ‘work-life balance’ is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work… and of himself.

Along with Scott and Arquette, the cast of Severance is pretty stacked. That includes John Turturro (The Big Lebowski) and Christopher Walken (The Deer Hunter).

Severance is set to premiere on Friday, February 18, 2022. We’ll get two episodes right out of the gate, and there will be nine episodes in total. Each new episode will arrive every Friday until the first season wraps up. Stiller is directing the first season.
