Apple TV+ teases workplace thriller ‘Severance’ starring Patricia Arquette and Adam Scott ahead of February 18 premiere

Back in November of 2019, Apple TV+ gave a full series order to a workplace thriller called Severance. At that time, we learned that the series would be directed by Ben Stiller (Night at the Museum), and that it would star Adam Scott (Big Little Lies). We’ve been waiting ever since for our first look at what to expect, and now we finally have it.

Now, more than two years later, we finally get the first teaser trailer for the upcoming show. It’s a pretty star-studded cast, too, with Patricia Arquette (The Act) co-starring alongside Scott. Along with that, we’ve got John Turturro (The Night Of), Christopher Walken (The Deer Hunter), Britt Lower (Casual), Dichen Lachman (Jurassic World: Dominion), and others.

Severance is set to premiere on Friday, February 18, 2022. We’ll get two episodes right out of the gate, and there will be nine episodes in total. Each new episode will arrive every Friday until the first season wraps up.

As far as what to expect? It sounds like it’ll be pretty heavy, all things considered, as employees at Lumon Industries undergo a “severance procedure,” which “surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives.” Here’s the full description of the series:

In ‘Severance,’ Mark Scout (Adam Scott) leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure, which surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in ‘work-life balance’ is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work … and of himself.

The first teaser trailer is under a minute in length. It doesn’t dive too deep into the story or anything, as a teaser trailer usually doesn’t, but it does show off the eye-catching visuals.

Stiller is directing the series, along with serving as an executive producer. It was written and created by Dan Erickson.

Now that we finally get to see a teaser trailer, are you looking forward to checking out Severance when it arrives in February?
