Jailbreak tweaks of the week: uYou, visum WiFiNameBugFix, & more…

The jailbreak community is entering its annual lull as we prepare for the public release of iOS & iPadOS 15 this Fall, but that doesn’t mean that jailbreak developers aren’t pumping out interesting and useful jailbreak tweaks.

In this piece, we’ll showcase all the latest jailbreak tweaks and jailbreak-based news from this past week, spanning Monday, July 5th to Sunday, July 11th.

As usual, we’ll kick things off by talking about our favorite releases first. Then, we’ll wrap things up with an outline of everything else afterward. So without further ado, let’s get started!

Our favorite releases this week

uYou – FREE

If you’re a YouTube app user and you have a jailbreak at your disposal, then you’ll want to take advantage of the new uYou tweak.

With uYou, you can enjoy video and audio downloads with importing features, background audio playback, and a whole lot of other perks that are usually restricted in the YouTube app.

You can learn all about uYou and how it works in our full review post.

visum – $1.00

With a jailbreak tweak called visum, you can experience current weather information on your pwned iPhone’s Lock Screen.

It uses your current location and shows the current weather conditions, along with what’s expected for the evening.

You can learn all about visum and what it offers for end users in our full review.

WiFiNameBugFix – FREE

If you’re an iPhone user, then you’ve likely caught wind about the particularly concerning Wi-Fi bug that can effectively disable an iPhone’s Wi-Fi functionality permanently simply by being in range of or connected to a malformed Wi-Fi network name.

This is particularly concerning, and while Apple is likely to issue a software update with a fix for this problem, jailbreakers tend to shy away from updates for obvious reasons. Fortunately, WiFiNameBugFix is a free jailbreak tweak that patches this bug on pwned handsets, ensuring that even jailbreakers on lower versions of iOS will be protected from this horrendous glitch without having to update and being unable to jailbreak as a direct consequence.
