If you use Keynote on Mac, then you’ll appreciate a new feature added in Keynote 10.1. Along with playing your slideshow in full screen mode, you can play your presentation in the Keynote window thanks to the update.
The ability to play your slideshow in the Keynote window lets you have other windows open at the same time. This is handy for viewing other apps as you review your slideshow as well as when you present it to your audience.
Here’s how to use the Play Slideshow in Window feature in Keynote on Mac.
Play your slideshow in the Keynote window
It really doesn’t get any easier to play your slideshow in the Keynote window than this.
Click Play from the menu bar and pick Play Slideshow in Window.
When your presentation plays in the Keynote window, it includes all of the slides, transitions, sounds, and other elements you’ve added; just as if you were playing in full screen mode.
To stop playing your slideshow, hit your Escape key.
Add the button to your toolbar
If you think you’ll be using the Play Slideshow in Window feature often, you can add the button to your Keynote toolbar.
1) Right-click the Keynote toolbar and select Customize Toolbar.
2) Locate the Play in Window button from the available options.
3) Drag the button where you want it in your toolbar and release.
Now you can just hit that convenient button whenever you want to see your presentation in the Keynote window.
Wrapping it up
Nifty little additions like this to Keynote just makes the app easier to use and that’s always a great thing. Remember, you’ll have to update your Keynote version to 10.1 to use the feature.
