Jailbreak tweaks of the week: AOD, Carabiner, SwitchShades, and more

It’s a great time to be an active participant in the jailbreak community – not only because you can jailbreak iOS 12.4, Apple’s latest non-beta public mobile operating system, but also because A12(X) support with Cydia is just around the corner.

That said, if you’re jailbroken and you’re looking for ways to trick out your handset, then you’ll definitely want to check out this roundup. Below, we’ll discuss our favorite jailbreak tweak releases this weak and then outline the rest afterward.

Our favorite releases this week

AOD – $1.25

AOD offers a customizable always-on-display for jailbroken iPhones. Front and center on the always-on Lock screen after installation is the time, date, battery information, and missed notifications, all of which sit on top of a pitch-back background.

The tweak was designed with OLED displays in mind, and it takes advantage of the extra-dark pixels in these displays to conserve as much battery life as it can without ever having to turn off.

Carabiner – FREE

Carabiner augments your iPhone’s Home screen experience by implementing many features of the Lock screen and Notification Center directly into it.

By scrolling up or down, you can glance at the date, time, weather information, your apps, or any missed notifications that you might have.

iKeywi 4 – $1.99

iKeywi 4 augments your iPhone’s native keyboard by allowing you to access more characters at a glance without shifting between letter, number, and symbol modes each and every time.

The tweak comes with two modes: iPad mode and extra row mode, each of which allow users to get to commonly-used numbers or symbols without ever leaving the primary keyboard interface.

SwitchShades – $1.25

SwitchShades is a simple jailbreak tweak that colorizes the App Switcher’s background color based on the dominant color of what’s being displayed at any moment in time.

The tweak can be configured to use a static color, the application icon’s dominant color, or the dominant color of the application card itself.
