Rumor: 4″ iPhone refresh to be named ‘iPhone 5e’ and run A8 chip with 1GB of RAM

The rumored refresh of the four-inch iPhone is widely expected by multiple sources to include Apple's latest A9 chip with two gigabytes of RAM, but now a new rumor published Monday by Chinese-language MyDrivers is pouring cold water on those claims.

According to the site, the handset will actually run the previous-generation A8 processor that powers the iPhone 6 series and won't include twice the RAM as previously suspected. In addition, Apple will apparently market the device under an 'iPhone 5e' moniker, like to suggest that it's actually an enhanced version of the iPhone 5s.

This tweak gives iOS notifications a makeover

With Appster, you can quickly find out details such as bundle id, app version number, folder location, developer name, etc. Each app also features a direct link to the app's installed location via iFile.

But it doesn't just stop there, in this post I'll show you some of the other interesting features that makes Appster worthy of downloading. In fact, I consider this tool to be a must-have for all jailbroken users.

Often, the Wallpapers of the Week section is a compilation of images found around the Internet and wallpapers sent to me for consideration from iDB readers. Last week's images were the best user-submitted images of 2015 and I encourage you to visit the collection!

It is always fun to feature the work of an avid iDB reader and, today, we highlight several walls from @bart172_, Giulio. He explained, the stock Photos app icon and the 2015 WWDC invitation art inspired the three wallpaper designs. You can see, the pinwheel design is present on both of Apple's renderings and carries through to the wallpapers.

Apple Music hits important milestone as it reportedly passes 10 million paying subscribers

Newsflash: Apple Music is not the failure that naysayers were rooting for it to become. Citing people familiar with the matter, The Financial Times newspaper reported today that Apple Music has passed ten million paying subscribers after just six months in existence.

If true, the service, which launched in more than a hundred countries in June of 2015, now has half as many paying customers as Spotify, which has been in the streaming-music game for years now.

Move to Android: EU carriers pushing Apple to provide an app to help people leave iOS ecosystem

Due to complaints by European mobile operators, Apple is reportedly under pressure to provide software that would permit iPhone owners to easily switch to Android, The Telegraph reported yesterday.

Carriers contend that Apple's decision to only provide the 'Move to iOS' app but not a similar tool to shift user data over to an Android device is limiting competition while weakening their hand in negotiations with Apple over contractual terms.

Native Facebook Messenger for Mac app revealed in leaked photo

Facebook may be bringing its popular messaging app to the desktop, according to a blurry photo obtained by TechCrunch which appears to show a native application being tested on a Mac notebook by an employee.

Facebook currently provides the Messenger app for a number of mobile platforms, in addition to a dedicated web interface at messenger.com and built-in messaging functionality available through its desktop UI at facebook.com.

New Activator beta adds two Apple Watch-centric features
