iOS 5.0.1 security flaw lets anyone bypass password protection to make a phone call and view contacts

iOS bugs and security flaws are taken seriously by not only customers, but also by Apple. There have been many that allow others to access your information, including contacts and pictures. Most recently, a bug was found that allows anyone to make a FaceTime call on your iOS device.

Today a new security flaw is brought to light by iPhone Islam, where anyone can make a call out and access your iPhone contacts despite any passcode you might have in place.

The rumor mill has been turning like crazy over the last few months. It seems like we've heard constant gossip regarding Apple's upcoming iPad refresh, and even more on the possibility of the company entering the TV industry this year.

US lawmakers want to look into Google’s iPhone tracking fiasco

Last week Google was caught overriding Safari users' privacy settings, and now US lawmakers want the Federal Trade Commission to probe the company over it, as reported by Computer World:

Three lawmakers from the U.S. House of Representatives have asked the Federal Trade Commission to investigate whether last week's report of privacy violations of Safari users by Google violated a consent agreement the company had reached with the FTC last year.

Google's alleged circumvention of do-not-track controls on Apple's Safari browser could have a wide sweeping impact because Safari is a major web browser used by millions of Americans, according to a letter to the FTC on Friday from Republican Representatives Cliff Stearns of Florida and Joe Barton of Texas, and Democrat Edward Markey of Massachusetts.

That's definitely something we'll be following.

Stunt Car Racer, the iPhone-controlled car

Sure, the iPhone is great for work and all, but what we really love it for is to have fun. With the amount of games and accessories that are found for the iPhone, it's an easy thing to spend plenty of money on. We really love the ones that take it to the extreme.

From the maker of iHelicopter is a new iPhone controlled car called the Stunt Car Racer. It uses the iPhone's accelerometer to control the car.

ABC releases teaser for their upcoming ‘A Trip to The iFactory’ documentary

U.S. television network ABC was granted the rights to produce a documentary profiling Apple's main manufacturer, Foxconn. This is the first inside look of the manufacturing plant, where many say workers are under harsh condition to produce our favorite Apple devices.

ABC's documentary premiers tomorrow on its Nightline program at 11:35 PM EST. Before it premiers, ABC has released a teaser and gallery of photos, giving us a brief look inside of Foxconn...

iPad owners older and richer than other tablet owners

The iPad is the world's best selling tablet by a land-slide, selling a record 15.43 million units during Apple's holiday quarter. Selling for $500 a pop, and more pricier for better versions, Apple racks in serious cash from their iPad sales.

According to a new study called "Tablet Adoptions and Insight Report" conducted by NDP, it found that on average iPad owners are older and richer than those who own tablets made by other manufacturers...

Apple threatens to sue Proview over “damaging Apple’s reputation”

Apple and Proview have been in the news a lot lately for their ongoing legal battle over Proview's trademark of the term 'Ipad'. Many China cities have already banned the tablet, while Mainland China has yet to rule on the case. In an interesting turn of events, Apple asked Amazon China to remove the tablet from their store last week.

However this morning, a person familiar with the matter was able to get their hands on a letter Apple sent to Proview, threatening a lawsuit. In the letter, Apple claimed Proview was "damaging Apple's reputation."
