And for those of you who've yet to see what all of the fuss is about, I have some good news for you. Apple has just named Angry Birds Space as its 'App of the Week', meaning you can download the game (iPhone and iPad) for free for a limited time...

Bad Piggies update lets you record and share gameplay footage

We're growing increasingly tired of Angry Birds here - that's why we've stopped telling you about each and every content update Rovio puts out. This one, however, is newsworthy as it allows iPad and iPhone users to exclusively capture and upload gameplay videos straight from their devices.

Also new in this update: fifteen new levels to master and two brand new items to use - suction-cup tires and spring-loaded boxing gloves. I've included a gampeplay video showcasing these new items right after the break...

Rovio rolls out cloud Account to sync your game progress across devices

You know what has been ticking me off for ages? That we're living in the 21st century and yet the vast majority of mobile games won't save progress in the cloud. Think about it: gamers spend hours playing a title only to lose all their progress after removing the game from their device. There has got to be a better way to keep those game saves in sync.

Showing signs of progress, several major developers have already implemented - or are implementing - their own solution to the problem. For example, Japanese games developer DeNA (formerly ngmoco) has just re-released classic iOS block-stacking game Topple with the newly implemented support for Mobage social game network that stores your progress and keeps it synchronized across devices.

Angry Birds maker Rovio is also among the devs who dare to think different. On Tuesday, the Finnish games maker rolled out its own cloud-based Rovio Account which lets you store your game progress and continue playing on another device...

Rovio to air Toons series through Angry Birds apps

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_7JjB0At_s

As we told you, Finland-based Angry Birds maker Rovio continues to milk its franchise with the announcement of an animated series titled Angry Birds Toons. It's premiering on the weekend of March 16 and 17 and today Rovio revealed that it will be airing the episodes directly via its Angry Birds apps, in addition to other more traditional distribution channels.

That's a clever move considering more than 1.7 billion Angry Birds downloads across devices and operating systems. If they offered a standalone Toons app, I don't think many people would download it. The first episode titled 'Chuck Time' will be airing in the Angry Birds Toons channel this Sunday, March 17, with a trailer for it included right after the break...
