‘PostOffice’ forwards all iOS notifications to Google Glass

Adam Bell, the iOS developer behind jailbreak tweaks like Stride and the Facebook Chat Head enabling MessageBox, is back at it again. He just released PostOffice — a new jailbreak tweak that allows Google Glass users to forward all of their iOS notifications directly to Google Glass.

Unfortunately, I don't own Google Glass, so it's impossible for me to personally test out exactly how the tweak functions. At any rate, take a look inside for a screenshot of the tweak's settings.

OS X Mavericks includes some major improvements to notifications

Good news Mac users. In addition to all of the cool stuff Apple has already outlined in Mac OS X Mavericks, the new software is also going to include a number of improvements to the way it handles notifications.

Easily the coolest thing about the enhancements is that you can now quick reply to notifications. This is something that iOS users have been clamoring for for years. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come.

BadgerTweak: an upcoming tweak for quickly viewing notifications

Wouldn't it be cool if you could tap an app badge and be given a synopsis of the app's awaiting notifications? That's the premise behind BadgerTweak, an upcoming endeavor that allows "...users to view notifications by tapping the app's notification badge on the SpringBoard."

According to the tweak's official Twitter account, it's coming soon to Cydia, and will work with more than just the Messages app. Although the tweak is still in development, the team behind it has apparently made a few strides in the developmental process as of late.

Emblem brings OS X inspired notifications to the iPad

Today at WWJC, Joshua Tucker revealed a new tweak that he created in collaboration with fellow developer, Kyle Howells. The tweak — Emblem — is an iPad exclusive that brings OS X inspired notifications to iOS.

Emblem features smooth animations, and swipe to dismiss among other things. Take a look inside as we give you a sneak peak of Emblem via our video walkthrough...

NotiPad: Growl like notifications on the iPad

NotiPad is an upcoming jailbreak tweak that promises to provide Growl like notifications on the iPad. The notifications that appear with NotiPad replace the standard banners present in iOS 5 and above.

Each notification can be tapped to launch its respective app (or double tapped, if you prefer to dismiss it). There are also options contained within the Settings app, that allow you to configure the animation style and switch the position of incoming notifications.

iOS 6 brings built-in support for Government Alerts

Still looking for new iOS 6 features? Then you're in luck, because we've just come across one that you might not have seen yet: Government Alerts.

That's right, it looks like the latest iteration of Apple's mobile OS includes built-in support for AMBER alerts, and other emergency notifications...

Apple looking to take Find My Friends to the next level with iOS 6

Apple debuted Find My Friends last fall during their iPhone 4S event. Similar to Google's Latitude service, Find My Friends uses GPS and Wi-Fi triangulation to track the locations of its members.

While the platform certainly has potential, it's failed to garner much user-traction thus far. But it appears that Apple is looking to change that in iOS 6, with a new geofencing notification system...

BannerDisable adds a new “Do Not Disturb” option to your iPhone

BannerDisable is a jailbreak tweak that adds a new "Do Not Disturb" toggle switch to the iPhone's settings app. This switch allows you to globally enable or disable banner notifications on the fly, which can be very useful if you're trying to get some rest or take a meeting.

Although it's always been possible to selectively disable or enable notifications for specific apps, BannerDisable excels because it allows you to do so for all apps in one simultaneous motion.

This tweak produces pint-sized banner notifications

Are you finding that your iPhone's banner notifications are a bit on the large side? If so, then do we have the perfect jailbreak tweak to fit your needs. SmallBanners is a tweak that performs one function, and does so fairly well — it reduces the size of your iPhone's banner notifications.

Personally I think the stock size of the banner notifications is perfect, but I realize that there are probably a few of you out there that don't. If you fit that description, then head inside and check out our video walkthrough for SmallBanners.

Reveal allows you to view more text on banner and Lock screen notifications

Today I was able to go hands-on with Reveal — a jailbreak tweak that allows you to view more text for your banner and Lock screen notifications.

As it stands, stock notifications aren't nearly as useful as they should be, because you can only view an extremely truncated version of the message contained within the notification.

Reveal aims to change this by allowing you to horizontally scroll on banner notifications, vertically scroll on Lock screen notifications, and more.

This hack sends out a push notification when the doorbell rings

As iDB is deeply involved in the jailbreak community, we see cool software and hardware hacks all the time. One of my favorites is by Mark Hodder, the freelance webmaster, who programmed Siri to turn his fireplace off and on.

Today, we've got another cool hack to share with you. This one comes from Clement Storck, over at Make Projects, who hacked his doorbell to send his iPhone push notifications (and doorway photos) when activated by a visitor...

Upcoming jailbreak tweak makes notifications more verbose

iOS 5's upgraded notification system was a welcomed addition to iOS' repertoire, but as time goes on it's evident that it can be improved even more so.

Developers Joshua Tucker and Conrad Kramer have taken matters into their own hands to improve iOS notifications. The result is a tweak that allows you to view the full body of your notifications from the Lock screen or via banner notifications.
