Well-known designer and concept artist Martin Hajek has teamed up with the folks over at Nowhereelse.fr to create what could be the most accurate iPhone 6 renderings to date. The mockups show a device that was created based on recent information, including MacFan’s schematic drawing from last month, and this week’s case leak.
For the most part, the renderings match up with everything we’ve seen thus far regarding Apple’s next smartphone. Hajek depicts the iPhone 6 as extremely thin, with rounded corners, and a display that’s noticeably larger than current models. It also features a new Sleep/Wake button, which has been moved to the right side of the handset… Read More

We’ve seen our fair share of the supposedly leaked technical drawings, front panel parts, third-party cases and manufacturing molds concerning Apple’s next iPhone, but what about bigger-screened apps?
A form factor change will probably yield a higher screen resolution so developers will need to optimize apps for 4.7 and 5.5-inch canvases. The larger 5.5-inch iPhone reportedly got delayed over production issues so we’ll sharpen our focus on the 4.7 incher.
Now, current iPhones rock 640-by-1,136 screens, resulting in a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch (ppi). Should the next iPhone come outfitted with a larger 4.7-inch screen at the same 326ppi, its resolution is going to increase to about 756-by-1,344 pixels.
Quickly, do the math in your head: that’s 40 percent more pixels for the apps and content you care about. Sweet, no?
I have a few smart mockups and some thoughts to share with you on what apps could look like on a larger-screened iPhone 6 and what Apple can do to weather this transition… Read More

So, is there a room for a new-category device, something between the tablet and the notebook? If you ask rumormongers, apparently there is.
Those of you who’ve been keeping tabs on the rumor mill are aware that Apple may or may not release a rumored 12.9-inch iPad this year – the latest intel points to a 2014 launch.
Maybe that’s why we’re not seeing compelling iPad Pro concepts, except for this one, but that has changed today thanks to Ramotion, an iPhone app development company. You may remember Ramotion for their previous eye candy concepts such as the OS X 11 mockup with an iOS 7-style flat interface or this one envisioning what Viber’s iOS 7 redesign should look like.
Ramotion’s Denis Pakhaliuk, was kind enough to send a couple high-resolution iPad Pro renderings my way, to share them with you guys. Their mockup will knock you off your seat so check out the images below the fold and meet us in comments… Read More

A little over a week ago, Japanese magazine MacFan published alleged schematics for a 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch iPhone 6. We called the drawings ‘sketchy,’ as they depicted a round iSight flash (instead of pill-shaped) and other oddities, but many of the details matched up with previous information.
With that in mind, MacRumors commissioned designer Ferry Passchier to create some full product renderings of the two iPhone 6 models, based on the schematics, in an effort to bring the black and white sketches to life. And we must say, the outcome is one (or two) good-looking smartphone… Read More

A new batch of renderings depicting Apple’s next iPhone is making the rounds on the web this morning, and with a good reason. French blog NowhereElse has teamed up with prolific 3D artist Martin Hajek to envision what the iPhone 6 could look like.
But rather than pull specs out of thin air to justify impossible or downright stupid features, the renderings are actually based upon the leaked schematics of a 4.7 and 5.5-inch iPhone form factor discovered by Japanese blog Macotakara.
In my personal opinion, these are the most compelling, most plausible iPhone 6 mockups to date. Jump past the fold to have a look at them and then chime in with your thoughts in the comments… Read More

Apple may not be interested in making a full-on television set after all, if Yukari Iwatani Kane’s scathing book, titled Haunted Empire: Apple After Steve Jobs (available on the iBooks Store), is anything to go by. Needlees to say, that’s not stopping those mockups from coming.
Take, for instance, German website Curved.de which today put out an interesting concept envisioning Apple’s rumored oversized iPad, the iPad Pro with a 12.9-inch edge-to-edge screen.
The same outlet previously mocked up a next-generation Apple TV concept sporting an interesting looking remote with touch controls that resembles the iPod touch. Unlike some other crazy concepts, the publication did its homework by basing the renderings on rumor-mill reporting.
I’ve included both concepts for your viewing pleasure right below the fold so have a look and tell us what you think in the comment section… Read More

Whether you are an App Store developer, graphic designer or otherwise, adding an iPhone bezel to your screenshots is a simple task that can make the images look much more professional. There are a variety of ways to go about doing this, one being to search for an iPhone template on Google and overlay your screenshot onto it using Photoshop or a similar program. That process can be cumbersome and time consuming, however, so read ahead for an alternative method that requires no expensive software and minimal effort on your part… Read More

A couple of mockup images surfaced on the web today, hoping to visualize what Apple’s rumored health-tracking app could look like. A January report from 9to5Mac said that the app, codenamed ‘Healthbook,’ would gather health and fitness data from iWatch and launch alongside iOS 8.
In its current state, the Healthbook app is said to resemble the UI of Apple’s Passbook application, with various cards offering health and fitness data points. This is what designer Carlos Quijano based his concept on, and according to those with knowledge of the app, it’s vaguely accurate… Read More

We’ve run a few iPhone 6 concepts here on iDownloadBlog, but none has captured our attention like the newest work by Italy’s established 3D artist Federico Ciccarese who took a crack at envisioning what a large-screened iPhone could look like. Like most mockups, this is one concept that Apple most likely will never make, probably.
Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean a guy can’t dream, no? With that in mind, do take a look at Federico’s latest batch of iPhone 6 mockups and then chime in with your thoughts down in the comments… Read More

Now that Apple has rebuilt iOS for its iPhone and iPad, the question is: will the new design make the leap to the Apple TV? Apple continues to refer to the set-top box as ‘a hobby,’ as it has quietly added several new apps and features to its software.
So let’s just say that, for the sake of argument, Apple is planning to bring iOS 7′s UI design to a future version of the Apple TV software. What would it look like? Well according to designer Andrew Ambrosino, it would look a little something like this… Read More

Although we’re not expecting to see it on stage at Apple’s media event tomorrow, the iWatch is still a highly anticipated product in the company’s pipeline. Most industry watchers don’t have the device launching until late 2014.
There are essentially two theories on what Apple’s wearable will look like: one being an actual watch-like device, and the other is more of a fitness band. Today’s concept takes after the latter, and we have to say, it looks awesome… Read More

Since we first started hearing reports that Apple was working on a smartwatch, designers have been churning out concepts left and right showing what their visions are for the device. And we’ve seen some good ones too, see here and here.
But this new one from Federico Ciccarese, of Ciccarese Design, might be the best yet. Designed with a flexible touchscreen display, it looks more like a futuristic, high-end fashion accessory than it does a smartwatch, and it even runs iOS 7… Read More

Earlier this year, a report from a Korean news site claimed that Apple was looking at the possibility of launching a 12.9-inch iPad in early 2014. We called the story ‘crazy,’ as among other things, it called for the monstrous tablet to be named the ‘iPad maxi.’
Surprisingly, though, late last month the Wall Street Journal corroborated the report, saying it had it on good authority that Apple was really working on such a device. And on the off chance that it ever makes it to market, here’s what it could look like… Read More

After June’s iOS 7 announcement us bloggers have gotten to become premium design experts. So much ink has been spilt on the new look of Apple’s mobile operating system, with observations of armchair analyst, resident critics, the quotidian and alike touching on such topics as Apple’s golden ratio, the icons, the flatness, the colors and just about every aspect of the software overhaul one could think of.
And that’s perfectly okay. And now, those who insist they could do a better job at revamping iOS 7 can take a crack at it. An amusing tool by Usvsth3m lets you create your own iOS 7 design masterpiece by customizing the iOS 7 icons, wallpapers, fonts (good-bye Helvetica Neue, no?), color scheme, corners, shadows – and even put in their own slogan. Will you give it a go and let your inner designer shine through? Read More

Now that Apple has unveiled iOS 7, and we know what its next generation software is going to look like, it’s time to start thinking about its next-generation handset. No, I’m not talking about the iPhone 5S that’s expected this year. I’m talking about after that.
Well if you ask the folks over at ADR Studio, they think it’s going to sport a 4.3-inch edge-to-edge display and a fingerprint scanner. The design team has put together an impressive iPhone 6 concept that mixes their creativity with ongoing iPhone rumors… Read More

Renowned 3D artist Martin Hajek today shared a new batch of interesting conceptual renderings that strive to envision how Apple’s rumored iWatch might seemingly lend itself to maps, which have long been the killer app category on mobile devices.
Indeed, with power-savvy Bluetooth Smart technology and iOS allegedly powering the device, a smartwatch from the people that brought you the iPhone could theoretically retrieve a user’s geographical location by tapping the iPhone’s GPS sensor, simply acting as a second screen for turn-by-turn directions… Read More

Here’s another next-generation iPhone concept, one that envisions a number of features unlikely to make their way into the handset. That of course didn’t prevent designers Uygar Kaya and Ran Avni from dreaming up the ultimate water and dust-resistant smartphone with notification LEDs, a full HD 1,920-by-1,080 widescreen display, 13-megapixel camera, touch-sensitive volume rocker, wireless charging and front-facing stereo speakers – all encases in an ultra-slim aluminum shell… Read More

Following recent budget iPhone concept by Martin Hajek (itself based on nice iOS 7 mockups by 3D artist Dámaso Benítez), German blog Apfellike.de yesterday shared a similar rendition by Jürgen Ulbrich. Like many 3D artists before him, Dámaso is striving to envision what iOS 7 running on the next iPhone might look like. The renderings use Hajek’s past budget iPhone concepts as the basis for the hardware. As for the software, he incorporated a round of nice concepts by 3D artist Dámaso Benítez, picturing a flattened iOS 7 user interface that Apple’s design head Jony Ive and his team are widely believed to be working on.
His mockups, Hajek explains on his personal blog, serve to illustrate “how Apple might introduce the new, cheap iPhone.” More awesomeness can be found right past the fold… Read More

Another day, another iOS 7 concept. In an attempt to depict what Jony Ive-ified, flattened user interface in iOS 7 might look like, digital agency Simply Zesty created this elaborate concept.
The video focuses on a clean look UI and pictures Lock screen widgets, a revamped Notification Center as well as a beautiful new Windows Phone ‘Metro’-fied stock apps like Calendar, Music, Siri and Camera.
I love the cleaner Notification Center with animated widgets. If that’s the future of iOS 7, then I’m very much looking forward to it… Read More
