I’m sure most of you are as tired of iPhone 6 concepts as I am—between rumors of a redesign and the constant barrage of part leaks, designers have had more to work with than years past—but these new mockups from Thomas Moyano and Nicolas Aichino are worth noting.
The images depict Apple’s handset with all of the rumored hardware changes, including the thinner profile, rounded edges and relocated Power button. But there’s one major difference between this design and all of the others we’ve seen thus far: no ugly antenna break lines… Read More

As news reached us this morning that Apple could launch its next iPhone in mainland China on Thursday, September 25, and given a purported 4.7-inch front panel leaked in a video which suggests the possibility of one-handed use, we now have a better idea of when the device could launch and how it might feel in one’s hand.
There has certainly been no shortage of leaked parts thus far, such as the supposed display covers, backplates, LCD parts, manufacturing molds, etc.
The problem with these leaks based on rumors is their crudeness that don’t do Apple’s industrial design and precision manufacturing a justice. Enter Ukrainian designer Mark Pelin, who has created high-resolution renders that offer arguably the best indication yet of what a finalized design of the iPhone 6 in Space Gray might look like… Read More

I wish Apple put me out of my misery and released the iPhone 6 already because an influx of videos comparing those questionable dummy units to just about anything is overwhelming me. Just this morning, for example, I pointed you to a video which shows off the supposed minor changes in the next iPad’s design.
Now I’ve decided to highlight another video that I think does a great job explaining how the bigger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 would compare to popular 5.5-inch Android handsets such as the LG G3, Oppo Find 7 and One Plus One.
It’s right after the break so give it a quick watch and join us in comments for a healthy discussion… Read More

Earlier this morning, we showed you new photos of a meticulously designed iPad Air 2 dummy unit with Touch ID incorporated into its Home button.
And now, a fresh batch of purported iPhone 6 manufacturing mockups has surfaced, depicting what a Space Gray variant of Apple’s upcoming bigger and thinner iPhone model could look like.
Credited to sources in Japan and Korea, the images show the purported mockup next to an iPhone 5s and HTC’s One smartphone… Read More

Some new photos of alleged iPhone 6 models surfaced this morning, courtesy of Sonny Dickson. We’ve seen several photos of physical mockups to date, but these by far offer the best representation of what Apple’s next smartphone is expected to look like.
It’s believed that the iPhone 6 will come in two display sizes: 4.7 and 5.5-inches, and today’s images show the two variants sitting side by side. This not only give us a good idea of the handset’s design, but it also indicates how the two models will vary in size… Read More

One of the crazier rumors we’ve heard thus far involving the iWatch comes from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said the accessory may cost as much as ‘several thousand dollars.’ Kuo is well respected in the Apple community, but this particular prediction seemed a bit off.
That is, unless the iWatch ends up looking like this new concept from Curved/labs that surfaced earlier this week. The site envisions the rumored smartwatch looking like a high-end Rolex, with a digital chronograph face, wireless charging, and several other features… Read More

Another day, another iPhone 6 dummy. Based on purportedly leaked design drawings published last month, enthusiast Hidenori Satou has used a MakerBot Replicator 2 3D Printer to produce a mockup of Apple’s upcoming 5.5-inch handset. The dummy unit is rather crude and as such is used to highlight the size difference between the current four-inch iPhone 5 and the upcoming 5.5-incher… Read More

With everyone and their brother 3D printing iPhone 6 mockups, virtually every single day brings another iPhone 6 “leak” that wants to go viral. There’s just too much stuff proliferating out there so iDownloadBlog usually only covers the material we specifically deem newsworthy.
This would typically entail photos and footage that bring something new to the conversation, be it a never-before-seen angle, an interesting design choice or other curious detail.
Today’s video is no different.
Created by an Italian enthusiast blog, it pits an unusually detailed physical iPhone 6 mockup against the iPhone 5s and the fifth-generation iPod touch, showing the supposed design differences from various angles… Read More

New renderings of what is believed to be the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 surfaced on the web this weekend. We’ve seen similar drawings before, but this time around the renders have reportedly come straight from primary Apple supplier Foxconn.
The device in the images, which measures 138 x 67mm, lines up with previous information. The design is consistent with the schematic published by MacFan last month, which has since been echoed by multiple cases and dummy units… Read More

We’re adding to the stockpile of alleged ‘iPhone 6‘ evidence this morning with a handful of new photos that purportedly show a white and silver dummy unit of the upcoming handset. The device looks very similar to the slate black unit that surfaced online earlier this week.
While the images don’t really offer up much in the way of new details on the smartphone, they do help us continue to paint a picture of what it’s believed to look like. Most everything we’ve seen thus far—from schematic drawings to case leaks—points to a homogenous design… Read More

New photos of an alleged ‘iPhone 6‘ dummy unit surfaced this afternoon. The images depict a device that is noticeably larger and thinner than the current iPhone 5s, with rounded corners, and an overall design that matches up with previous information.
There’s no word on where the physical mockups came from, and there’s obviously no way to determine their validity. But our friends over at Nowhereelse.fr say that the snapshots were published by a long-time member of a well-known Chinese forum…

A new set of alleged ‘iPhone 6′ renderings surfaced online yesterday. The images come from Ukrainian website UkrainianiPhone, and the device depicted in them matches up with most everything we’ve seen thus far on the handset, including its relocated Sleep/Week button and circular iSight flash.
There is one noticeable difference, though, between this iPhone 6 model and the ones that we’ve seen in the past, and it has to do with the rear shell. Up until now, all of the renderings we’ve seen have shown a solid back cover. But these new shots suggest that Apple is leaving breaks for the antenna… Read More

Well-known designer and concept artist Martin Hajek has teamed up with the folks over at Nowhereelse.fr to create what could be the most accurate iPhone 6 renderings to date. The mockups show a device that was created based on recent information, including MacFan’s schematic drawing from last month, and this week’s case leak.
For the most part, the renderings match up with everything we’ve seen thus far regarding Apple’s next smartphone. Hajek depicts the iPhone 6 as extremely thin, with rounded corners, and a display that’s noticeably larger than current models. It also features a new Sleep/Wake button, which has been moved to the right side of the handset… Read More

We’ve seen our fair share of the supposedly leaked technical drawings, front panel parts, third-party cases and manufacturing molds concerning Apple’s next iPhone, but what about bigger-screened apps?
A form factor change will probably yield a higher screen resolution so developers will need to optimize apps for 4.7 and 5.5-inch canvases. The larger 5.5-inch iPhone reportedly got delayed over production issues so we’ll sharpen our focus on the 4.7 incher.
Now, current iPhones rock 640-by-1,136 screens, resulting in a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch (ppi). Should the next iPhone come outfitted with a larger 4.7-inch screen at the same 326ppi, its resolution is going to increase to about 756-by-1,344 pixels.
Quickly, do the math in your head: that’s 40 percent more pixels for the apps and content you care about. Sweet, no?
I have a few smart mockups and some thoughts to share with you on what apps could look like on a larger-screened iPhone 6 and what Apple can do to weather this transition… Read More

So, is there a room for a new-category device, something between the tablet and the notebook? If you ask rumormongers, apparently there is.
Those of you who’ve been keeping tabs on the rumor mill are aware that Apple may or may not release a rumored 12.9-inch iPad this year – the latest intel points to a 2014 launch.
Maybe that’s why we’re not seeing compelling iPad Pro concepts, except for this one, but that has changed today thanks to Ramotion, an iPhone app development company. You may remember Ramotion for their previous eye candy concepts such as the OS X 11 mockup with an iOS 7-style flat interface or this one envisioning what Viber’s iOS 7 redesign should look like.
Ramotion’s Denis Pakhaliuk, was kind enough to send a couple high-resolution iPad Pro renderings my way, to share them with you guys. Their mockup will knock you off your seat so check out the images below the fold and meet us in comments… Read More

A little over a week ago, Japanese magazine MacFan published alleged schematics for a 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch iPhone 6. We called the drawings ‘sketchy,’ as they depicted a round iSight flash (instead of pill-shaped) and other oddities, but many of the details matched up with previous information.
With that in mind, MacRumors commissioned designer Ferry Passchier to create some full product renderings of the two iPhone 6 models, based on the schematics, in an effort to bring the black and white sketches to life. And we must say, the outcome is one (or two) good-looking smartphone… Read More

A new batch of renderings depicting Apple’s next iPhone is making the rounds on the web this morning, and with a good reason. French blog NowhereElse has teamed up with prolific 3D artist Martin Hajek to envision what the iPhone 6 could look like.
But rather than pull specs out of thin air to justify impossible or downright stupid features, the renderings are actually based upon the leaked schematics of a 4.7 and 5.5-inch iPhone form factor discovered by Japanese blog Macotakara.
In my personal opinion, these are the most compelling, most plausible iPhone 6 mockups to date. Jump past the fold to have a look at them and then chime in with your thoughts in the comments… Read More

Apple may not be interested in making a full-on television set after all, if Yukari Iwatani Kane’s scathing book, titled Haunted Empire: Apple After Steve Jobs (available on the iBooks Store), is anything to go by. Needlees to say, that’s not stopping those mockups from coming.
Take, for instance, German website Curved.de which today put out an interesting concept envisioning Apple’s rumored oversized iPad, the iPad Pro with a 12.9-inch edge-to-edge screen.
The same outlet previously mocked up a next-generation Apple TV concept sporting an interesting looking remote with touch controls that resembles the iPod touch. Unlike some other crazy concepts, the publication did its homework by basing the renderings on rumor-mill reporting.
I’ve included both concepts for your viewing pleasure right below the fold so have a look and tell us what you think in the comment section… Read More

Whether you are an App Store developer, graphic designer or otherwise, adding an iPhone bezel to your screenshots is a simple task that can make the images look much more professional. There are a variety of ways to go about doing this, one being to search for an iPhone template on Google and overlay your screenshot onto it using Photoshop or a similar program. That process can be cumbersome and time consuming, however, so read ahead for an alternative method that requires no expensive software and minimal effort on your part… Read More

A couple of mockup images surfaced on the web today, hoping to visualize what Apple’s rumored health-tracking app could look like. A January report from 9to5Mac said that the app, codenamed ‘Healthbook,’ would gather health and fitness data from iWatch and launch alongside iOS 8.
In its current state, the Healthbook app is said to resemble the UI of Apple’s Passbook application, with various cards offering health and fitness data points. This is what designer Carlos Quijano based his concept on, and according to those with knowledge of the app, it’s vaguely accurate… Read More
