Vine

You can now watch Vines offline

Vine, a Twitter-owned video service that lets anyone share funny looping clips with the web at large, or just their followers, has received a nice update Wednesday.

Available as a free update in the App Store, the app now lets fans watch Vines quicker than ever, even with a slower or no Internet connection. You’ll also see that posts show up more quickly than before.

Vine Kids gives children a fun way to watch Vines

Vine, a short video-sharing service Twitter acquired in 2011, today announced a brand new iPhone app aimed at children. Dubbed Vine Kids, it utilizes animated characters, to let kids watch videos that the company deems appropriate for a young audience.

The idea for an app apparently came after one of Vine team members realized how much his two-year-old daughter enjoyed watching funny Vines.

The team then set out to create an iOS app that would act as a safe place for children to enjoy funny Vines without being exposed to, you know, adult or otherwise questionable content that people share on the service.

Vine update brings per-account push alerts

Twitter-owned Vine, a video service optimized for sharing six-second long looping video clips, on Tuesday received a small update. Bumping the iPhone app to version 3.1, it introduced enhanced push notifications with the ability to choose push alerts on a per-account basis.

Folks who have tons of followers on Vine are frequently inundated with alerts each time someone shares a clip on Vine, revines a vine, comments on it and what not.

There's nothing worse than being overwhelmed and having to cope with unwanted notifications. The team is feeling your pain so they've put together this little feature where you get a notification whenever your favorite contacts post on Vine.

Download videos from Vine directly to your iPhone with Vine++

Vine is one of the most popular video sharing platforms that allows users to capture and share videos of very short duration. However, the official Vine app on iOS  doesn't allow you to save videos, although you can make use of third-party apps to do so. Vine++ is a new jailbreak tweak that aims to get rid of this restriction and save your day. Developed by UnlimApps, Vine++ allows you to save any video from Vine directly to your Camera Roll with just the tap of a button and watch it later or share it with your friends.

Vine updated with support for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, iOS 8 extensions and more

Twitter has released an update for its popular video-sharing app Vine today, bringing the iOS client to version 3.0. The update features a number of enhancements, including support of iOS 8 extensions and the larger displays of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

With iOS 8 extension support, users can now upload content to Vine from the Photos app, or any other video app that supports extensions. Users can also now follow Vine channels, such as Animals or Comedy, to get relevant videos added to their feeds.

Vine finally lets you upload clips from your Camera roll

Vine has announced a significant update for its iOS client today, which will add a number of new features to the popular video-sharing app. The release includes a wide range of new editing  tools, as well as the long-requested ability to upload clips from your device's Camera Roll.

A majority of today's changes fall within the app's new camera section, which aims to make it faster and easier to get your Vines just the way you want them. And with new Preview and Undo buttons, you can quickly screen your last clip, and decide whether you want to keep it or not...

Vine updated with redesigned navigation, new sharing options and more

Twitter updated its popular 6-second clip-sharing app Vine today for iOS. The update brings the client to version 2.2, and features a handful of noticeable changes including a redesigned navigation menu and new sharing options.

The redesigned navigation UI is one of biggest changes to Vine since its inception. The drop-down menu that lived in the Home icon in the top left-hand corner of the app has been replaced by a standard, bottom navigation bar…

Vine updated with Loop Counts, revamped Activity section and more

Twitter-owned Vine's mobile app hasn't received a lot of important new features lately as the team focused on making the web interface more functional and prettier.

Today, Vine announced a cool new feature addition: Loop Counts. Now available in the just-updated Vine for iPhone version 2.1, Loop Counts indicate how many times people have looped a video, including on Vine and in embeds across the web.

Vine also contains a cleaner feed with bigger videos and a revamped Activity section with new account milestones and more visual notifications and other perks...

Vine’s gorgeous web UI redesign includes search, curated sections, your feed and more

It must have been quite a while since you last gave Vine's web interface a visit, I take it? If so, I'm in the same boat as you. And rightfully so, as the spartan web interface only lets us see short Vine videos and get our embed codes.

Starting today, vine.co has become a lot more useful as the team rolls out what files as likely the most substantial facelift to Vine's web interface since the service's inception.

Not only does the new web UI allows users to browse popular and trending clips grouped in curated sections, they can also search Vine's database of content by person, tag or even location to find what they're looking for...

Twitter’s Vine app updated with direct messaging, custom profile colors and more

Twitter's Vine app today received its largest update since it debuted last year, bringing the iOS client to version 2.0. The update includes a number of improvements, but easily the biggest change is the addition of a new private video messaging feature called Vine Messages (or VMs).

The concept behind a VM is simple. All you do is select the new 'Messages' option in the navigation menu, record a video and send it out to your friends. You can send VMs out to anyone, but users have the ability to choose who they want to receive messages from—friends followers, etc...

Vine updated with focus and exposure lock

Twitter's Vine is on an update spree. Earlier in the week the company rolled out two new features specifically covering Vine's web interface, one allowing users to browse, like share and comment on Vines on the web, bypassing the mobile apps, and the other called TV mode that lets you play all of the videos from your home feed, or from any given profile, in sequence.

Twitter has now turned its attention back to Vine's iPhone app which has been bumped up to version 1.4.7. In addition to bug fixes and performance improvements, this Vine edition allows you to capture sharper videos and achieve better effects by locking your focus and exposure with the focus tool, here's how it works...

Twitter launches Vine for the web with new TV mode

Good news Vine fans! Your favorite social network is available on the web. Twitter announced yesterday that you can now visit your favorite Viners' profiles on the web to browse, like, share, and comment on videos.

Additionally, Twitter introduced a new feature to the site (currently available on the web only) called TV mode, which allows you to play all of the videos from your home feed, or from any given profile, in sequence...
