Tim Cook speaks with ABC News about Apple Watch, Steve Jobs

Following today's "historic" media event, Apple CEO Tim Cook sat down with ABC News' David Muir for an exclusive interview. The full interview will air on tonight's episode of 'World News Tonight,' but ABC has just posted a teaser clip of the conversation.

In the clip, which we've posted below, Cook talks to Muir about the significance of this morning's event. The keynote took place at the same venue where Steve Jobs unveiled the original Mac in 1984, Muir wanted to know if that was on Cook's mind at all today.

Apple Watch promo videos

Apple has just published the Apple Watch promo videos to its YouTube channel. And because the Apple Watch won't be available until next year, that's pretty much as close as you'll get to one until then. Watch, enjoy, and share what you think about it all in the comments section.

Spotify promises 30 minutes of uninterrupted music if you sit through 13-30 second video ad breaks

Spotify, the popular music-streaming service with 40 million strong user base, on Monday announced a new way to stream music for free.

Leveraging its video ads for mobile and desktop that have been in limited testing since mid-June and are now rolling out, free Spotify streamers who opt-in to view short 15-30 second videos on their device will receive 30 minutes' worth of uninterrupted, ad-free music. Spotify, which hails from Sweden, opened its mobile service to non-paying users in December.

Video offers a closer look at a stronger 2,915mAh battery possibly bound for iPhone 6

The prolific leakers over at the French blog NowhereElse.fr [Google Translate] on Sunday have managed to get hold of a short video which purportedly shows off a 2,915mAh battery said to be bound for a 5.5-inch iPhone 6.

In the past week or so, we've been treated to several sightings of 1,810mAh, 2,100mAh and 2,915mAh batteries for the upcoming Apple handsets.

This, however, marks the first time the part's been captured on video.

Compared to the ~1,560mAh unit inside the iPhone 5s, this alleged iPhone 6 battery is twice as strong. Whether the added juice is only meant to power the iPhone 6's power-hungry 5.5-inch screen alongside new sensors and an NFC chip for mobile payments, or perhaps extend the handset's total run time, shall remain anyone's guess until next Tuesday, 10am PT.

From China with love: iPhone 6 video preview, or is it?

Following yesterday's batch of videos featuring an alleged iPhone 6 booting to iOS 8, a new footage has surfaced Sunday morning offering what appears to be the most detailed video overview of Apple's forthcoming iPhone 6 ahead of Tuesday's keynote.

Shared by French blog NowhereElse.fr [Google Translate] and running seven minutes and seventeen seconds long, the interesting clip found after the break is not of Gizmodo's iPhone 4 magnitude.

That being said, it does offer a series of comparisons between a device which appears to be an iPhone 6 and the current-generation iPhone 5s, including stock apps like Camera and more.

Fun Friday: IKEA spoofs iPad ads, Joy of Tech pokes fun of Apple’s product cycle

Ikea channels Jony Ive to promote its 2015 furniture catalog, Joy of Tech spoofs the seven phases every true Apple fan goes through in between product launches — dang, it must by a Friday!

To help you get prepared for the weekend, I've cherry-picked a pair of linkbait memes that've been making rounds this week. You should find the Ikea video amusing and the Joy of Tech comic hilarious as you head out for the weekend, your very last weekend before Apple's big reveal on Tuesday changes everything, all over again.

Drone captures a giant building Apple built in front of the Flint Center ahead of the keynote

As Apple is gearing up for a major media event scheduled for the next Tuesday at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts in its hometown of Cupertino, well-plugged in blogger Jim Dalrymple noticed the iPhone maker has also constructed its own building on the Flint Center grounds.

And thanks to enthusiasts like Sachin Patel who flew a drone over the building, we've now fully realized just how massive the secondary structure is — as in, it's taller than the Flint Center itself!

I've included the footage after the break so give it a watch and join the conversation.

New video compares nearly-assembled 4.7″ iPhone 6 to iPhone 5s

Yesterday evening, a new video surfaced on the web providing yet another glimpse at Apple's upcoming iPhone 6, which will be officially announced at a media event next Tuesday.

The three and a half minute hands-on clip posted to the Russian YouTube channel Rozetked seemingly compares the current-generation four-inch iPhone 5s to an iPhone 6 assembled from leaked components.

Featuring some rather dramatic closeups, it gives a good look at a 4.7-inch edition of the iPhone 6 and its design aesthetics while depicting a Space Gray variant with both a black and white front plate.

Claimed 5.5″ iPhone 6 rear shell caught on video

French publication NowhereElse.fr today published a purported video which seemingly shows off an alleged rear shell thought to be for the bigger iPhone 6 model, giving fans a good look at how the rumored 5.5-inch handset might feel in one's hand.

The publication adds that the bigger iPhone has inherited the 'Air' moniker, first used in respect to iOS devices with the release of the iPad Air.

The iPhone maker is expected to announce the iPhone 6 alongside a wearable device at a media event scheduled for Tuesday, September 9, at Cupertino's Flint Center for the Performing Arts.

The new Apple campus construction site, as seen from a drone

A new video surfaced last week, offering a great look at Apple's new 'spaceship' campus construction site. If you'll recall, Apple was given the green light by the Cupertino City Council last fall to start the project, and it appears that builders are already making serious headway.

Drone enthusiast 'jmcminn' uploaded the video to his YouTube channel, which was shot using a DJI Phantom 2 drone and a GoPro Hero. The clip is worth watching both from a technological standpoint (hello, it was shot with a consumer drone), and for the peek at Campus 2.

Sapphire compared to Gorilla Glass in durability test

The repair experts over at uBreakiFix have posted a video comparing the durability of smartphone displays made of sapphire and Gorilla Glass. The comparison comes amidst ongoing speculation that the upcoming iPhone 6 may feature a sapphire screen.

Results from the test may surprise you, as although the sapphire display did prove to be significantly more scratch resistant than Gorilla Glass, it was also far more susceptible to impact breaks due to its stiffness and brittleness. Watch the full video below.
