iOS 6 adoption rate twice as fast as iOS 5 after two days

Despite claims by some that iOS 6 is less than a stellar update, it seems Apple's latest release of its mobile operating system is being adopted quickly by users of iPhones, iPads and iPod touches.

New figures released to Techcrunch by analytics firm Apsalar, show that iOS 6 is proving more and more popular as time progresses, with the adoption rate after two full days of availability being a healthy 20%. That's up 5 points from after day one.

Perhaps more telling is the fact that iOS 6 sees an adoption rate of double that seen by iOS 5 after the same period...

Developers seeing quick app review times for iPhone 5 updates

Good news for all of you folks who pre-ordered an iPhone 5, or plan on picking one up on launch day. Developers are reporting that Apple is pushing through app updates for the handset at a rapid pace.

Dropbox updated with AirPrint support and more sharing options

Dropbox, the popular cloud-based storage service, updated its iOS app last night, bringing the software to version 1.5.5. The update includes AirPrint support and some new in-app sharing options.

While the change log isn't long for 1.5.5, it's fairly significant. Now, users have the ability to wirelessly print from directly within the app, as well as share their content on Facebook and Twitter...

Some iPhone 5 pre-orders to ship faster than expected

The iPhone 5 pre-order kickoff yesterday morning was fairly reminiscent of last year's launch. Apple's website, despite having months to prepare, quickly buckled under the influx of traffic, and more than half an hour passed before some folks could logon.

The real story though is how fast the initial pre-order stock of iPhone 5s ran out. Shipping times slipped from one to two weeks in less than an hour. Some people even saw their ship dates drop a week during the time it took them to place their order...

Gmail for iOS now opens links in Chrome, what’s next?

Gmail for iOS received a minor update today, bringing the app to version 1.3.1. The email client now runs a bit more smoothly, and more importantly, it can now open links in the Chrome browser.
