Shazam updated with new results page, Line integration and more

Shazam updated its mobile app this afternoon, bringing the iOS client to version 7.6. The update brings about a handful of improvements for the song ID software, including a new results page and support for LINE messaging.

The new results page makes for a better experience while 'shazaming' TV shows, as you'll now be able to see a full cast list, as well as catch up on story lines and gossip. And you can then share those new results via the LINE app...

Twelve South introduces the HoverBar 3 for iPad

Twelve South, a premium accessory maker of various Mac and iOS add-ons, announced a new product today. It's called the HoverBar 3, and it's the successor to the company's popular line of Apple tablet mounts.

The HB 3 looks similar to older models—it still features an iPad holder attached to a 20-inch flexible metal arm, and it still mounts to various surfaces via a 1-inch clamp—but it offers support for newer devices...

Firmware update brings Multi Play and other new features to Mini Jambox

Jawbone yesterday released a significant firmware update for some of its Bluetooth speakers. The free update, which is specifically for the Mini Jambox, brings about several new features including Multi Play, LiveAudio, and more.

Jambox owners will probably be most interested in Multi Play, which enables you to wirelessly connect two of the bluetooth speakers for either double the volume, or to separate left and right channel audio for stereo-like playback...

Google Search 4.0 is out with several Google Now improvements

Google today released an update for its popular Google Search app. The update brings the iOS client to version 4.0, and includes a number of improvements to the Google Now feature such as support for smarter conversations and faster load times.

With smarter conversations, users can now ask follow-up questions to their originally search queries. So for example, if you ask Google Now what the weather is like, you can follow that up with: 'what about tomorrow?' or 'how about this weekend?'

Twitter updates iPad app with new features, starts rolling out ‘mute’ function

Twitter today posted an update for its iOS app, bringing it to version 6.5. The update brings about a handful of improvements for the iPad client, including a new design, photo and video previews for timeline, and easier access to DMs.

It also appears that Twitter has begun rolling out its new 'mute' feature to its web and mobile apps. Earlier this month the website was discovered testing the function with select users, but today it's becoming available on a wider scale...

Vimeo app updated with all new design, faster playback and more

Vimeo users will be happy to hear that the video streamer rolled out a new version of its iOS client today. The update brings the app to build number 4.1, and features an all-new design, as well as various other improvements.

The new design is noticeable from the second you launch the app. It has sort of an iOS 7 feel, with lightweight elements and streamlined menus, and overall navigation has been improved. More details and screenshots below...

United Airlines app updated with new in-flight streaming video service

Back in March, we told you that United Airlines was on the verge of launching a new in-flight movie service for iOS users. The service would allow iPhone and iPad owners to watch over 150 movies and 200 TV shows on their devices for free.

The program launched last month on select aircraft, and today the official United Airlines app was updated to support it. With the app installed, users on compatible planes will be able to access free media while connected to Wi-Fi in-flight...

1Password for Mac updated with Watchtower support

Following the update to the iOS app this week, AgileBits has posted a new version of 1Password for Mac, bringing the password manager to version 4.4. The update includes just a handful of improvements, but is notable because it adds Watchtower integration.

For those unfamiliar with it, 1Password Watchtower is a service that identifies websites that are vulnerable to known security risks, and suggest that you change your passwords. It's fairly new, emerging after last-month's 'Heartbleed' bug infected several websites...

Apple expands iTunes in the Cloud support in Germany to movies and TV shows

Good news for iOS users in Germany today, as Apple has expanded iTunes in the Cloud in the country. The cloud-based sync-and-storage service now supports the streaming of movies and television shows.

What this means is that German users will now be able to access previously-purchased movie and television content on any Apple device, including the Apple TV, by accessing the 'Purchased' tab in iTunes...

Sunrise Calendar updated with Interesting Calendars, improved Exchange support

Sunrise Calendar, which made our list of best calendar apps for iOS back in March, was updated today. The new release brings the app to version 2.3, and includes a handful of improvements as well as a new feature called 'Interesting Calendars.'

As the name suggests, Interesting Calendars allows you to add various types of pre-made calendars with a few simple taps. Sunrise now offers over 25,000 calendars to help you keep track of holidays, sport team schedules and more within the app...

1Password for iOS updated with background Dropbox syncing and more

1Password users will be happy to hear that AgileBits posted a new version of the iOS app this week, bringing the popular password manager to version 4.5.1. The update includes several enhancements, including background Dropbox syncing and more.

In fact, much of the update revolves around data syncing. In addition to the Dropbox fix, the app now uses the network activity indicator to show when sync is occurring, and conflict resolution during syncing has been improved. Full change log below...

Adobe updates Photoshop Express with new design, Instagram sharing and more

Adobe updated their popular Photoshop Express app last night, bringing the iOS photo editor to version 3.3. The update features a number of improvements, including an all-new design for iOS 7, pet-eye (also known as green-eye) correction, and more.
