ScreenLocker: A Simple Screen Orientation Widget for Notifications Center

It seems as though it's been a while since we've seen a new widget for iOS 5's Notification Center. When the beta first launched, it was like we were seeing one a day if not more. Now it seems more like one per week.

Assuming Apple doesn't allow 3rd party widget development right away, it would be a safe bet to assume we will see a lot more of these pop up in Cydia once iOS 5 is released (mostly due to Apple's current NDA on iOS 5). But to help tide us over until then, here is ScreenLocker...

Jailbreak Tweak Activator Updated

Ryan Petrich has updated the popular jailbreak tweak Activator.

Activator lets you assign activation gestures to any application. A common example of this is swiping the status bar left or right to bring up SBSettings. It can be highly customized and best of all, it's free. Chances are if you already have some common well known jailbreak tweaks installed, Activator will already be on your device.

Next time you open up Cydia, Activator's 1.5.5 update will be waiting for you...

‘HiddenMail’ Hides Your Email Accounts from Prying Eyes

Between being a handheld gaming device and portable media player, iDevices get passed around a lot. This can leave personal information exposed, such as, pictures, messages, and of course emails.

While there are already ways to password protect your device, this new jailbreak utility removes the hassle. For folks who are particularly concerned with privacy when it comes to their email, here's HiddenMail...

‘Random Icon Flip’ Brings the Gymnast Out of Your iPhone’s App Icons

Ever wanted to see your app icons randomly flip as if you Home screen was filled with a dozen miniature revolving doors?

To be honest, me neither; but it does look nice once the effect is there and you can see it in action.

Random Icon Flip is one of those tweaks that sounds horrible while hearing it described, but it actually starts to grow on you after using it...

‘SpringBlock Breaker’ Brings Breakout to a SpringBoard Near You

Few arcade games are as easily recognizable and ubiquitous as Breakout. That's why it's only appropriate that along with a Space Invaders remake, a Breakout remake graces the iPhone's SpringBoard in the form of a jailbreak tweak.

That tweak is called SpringBlock Breaker, and it allows you to play a remixed version of Breakout using some strategically placed app icons, and the iPhone's accelerometer.

Is this entry as interesting as SpringBoard Invaders? Check inside for the answer...

‘AnimateBattery’ Adds a Little Spice to Your iPhone’s Lock Screen While Charging

AnimateBattery is a neat little jailbreak tweak that -- as its name states -- animates the battery on your lock screen while your iPhone is charging.

This is the forth TweakWeek entry in the series by developer Elias Limneos, who has in my opinion, some of the better tweaks that TweakWeek has seen thus far.

Check inside for the full video details regarding the ins and outs of this free download from Cydia...

SuperSlider: Launch Any Application with One Tap from Your Lock Screen

Over the last month or so we've seen several jailbreak utilities end up in the lock screen slider. First came FlashLock, and then CameraLock (both developed by Filippo Bigarella). These tweaks give you quick access to iPhone functions without having to unlock the device.

In the spirt of those 2 titles comes another tweak embedded into your lock screen slider. Like the aforementioned utilities, SuperSlider adds an icon to your slider to give you quick access to any application...

Manually Arrange the Icons in Your Status Bar With ‘ArrangeStatusBar’

TweakWeek seems to have hit a certain stride under Elias Limneos. The prolific developer of this week's TweakWeek entries is back at it again with something original, something that I think you're definitely going to like.

This latest tweak is called ArrangeStatusBar, and it allows you to use a finger and manually arrange the icons residing in your iPhone's status bar.

Needless to say, I'm thoroughly impressed with its accuracy and abundance of cool factor oozing from this tweak...

SBFader: Customized Fading Effect for Springboard Icons

If you are looking for something to take your mind off of the iPad 2 jailbreak leak everyone keeps talking about, I've got just the thing. A new utility has been released in Cydia that adds another cool customization option to your springboard.

Alexandros Melakis brings us this new tweak that enables you to set your icons to fade in and out when switching between springboard screens. The jailbreak developer says SBFader's purpose is to "Enhance your springboard experience..."

Celeste Bluetooth File Sharing App Updated

CocoaNuts, the developers behind popular Cydia tweaks such as Yourtube 2 and MarkRead, have after what has felt like an eternity, finally updated their latest bluetooth file sharing app Celeste to v1.0- 73.

Celeste was met with bitter reception after its initial release with a plethora of bugs found by users who had purchased it at its limited time launch price of $7.99. Although initial releases are expected to have bugs and faults, Celeste was in no shape to be released. It also didn't help that at the time, its dependency tweak ActionMenu was not updated for iOS 4.3 and wasn't reportedly playing nice with Celeste. It was broken.

Initial Twitter updates from the developers appeared promising but with its last update on Celeste's status on the 10th of April many users were left in the dark as to Celeste's future other than the promise that the tweak would be fixed "…very, very soon".

An update was finally pushed out of no where on June 13th, with no announcement of its release on the @CelesteSupport and @CocoaNuts Twitter feeds...

Anicons: Animated Springboard Toggles

ModMyi broke the news today about a new project that jailbreak developer Dan Zimmerman is working on. If that name sounds familiar, it's because Zimmerman recently participated in TweakWeak, releasing utilities like the Airplane and Wi-fi Icon toggles.

If you liked those tweaks, you're going to love Zimmerman's next idea. The developer is now working on an entire set of settings toggles for your springboard...

How to Get Free Visual Voicemail on T-Mobile Using ‘YouMail’

Once upon a time I unlocked my iPhone 3GS and used it on T-Mobile in order avoid AT&T's more expensive service.

It was a decent experience, but two noteworthy flaws marred it. Number one; I obviously had no 3G-network access since the iPhone doesn't contain the circuitry needed to piggyback T-Mobile's 3G network. Number two; I had no access to Visual Voicemail.

Of course there's no way to fix problem number one, that's an inherent issue regarding hardware. Problem number two, though, is fixable.

In this video tutorial, I'll show you how to use the jailbroken version of YouMail to get real visual voicemail on your iPhone for free...
