Add Some Cardboard Flair To Your LockScreen

Jailbreaking your iDevice has many benefits. One benefit is the ability to customize and make it your own by changing your lockscreen.

Jailbreak tweaks, such as Winterboard and Dreamboard, break free from these restrictions, and as such, these avenues of customization have spawned an underground community dedicated to providing beautiful, awe-inspiring themes and modifications for your iDevice.

One such example is Cardboard Cutout HD, created by tadad1. As the title of the theme suggests, the lockscreen is given a beautiful cardboard appearance...

‘Ergo HD’ DreamBoard Theme Aims to Innovate With Ergonomic Dual Hand Navigation

Today we're going to talk about something a little different in the theming universe. I'd like to introduce to you a DreamBoard theme called ErgoHD.

Now this isn't your typical iPhone theme for a number of reasons, and the first reason of course being that it's a DreamBoard theme and not your run of the mill WinterBoard affair.

Secondly, Ergo HD is aiming primarily at the non-ambidextrous demographic, seeing as its main selling point is being able to use it comfortably with either hand.

Sound interesting? Then check out this video walkthrough of Ergo HD...

DreamBoard iPhone Theming Framework Receives a Huge Update

A few days ago, iPhone theming platform DreamBoard received a much-needed update that brought stability, full keyboard access, app icon caching, and much more to the table.

It was such a big update, that I figured it warranted a whole new walkthrough to show off its new fresh coat of paint.

With DreamBoard's core updates comes a refresh to the built in Endroid HD theme as well, and let me tell you, it's very easy on the eyes.

Before, it was safe to say that DreamBoard was a promising, but much maligned theming framework. With this latest update, a lot of its ailments have been cured, transforming it into a legitimate springboard replacement for the iPhone...

3 Beautiful Notification Center Concepts

The iOS 5 Notification Center has been getting a lot of attention lately in the jailbreak community. Third party widgets have already been made available that mirror functionality in tweaks like SBSettings. Themes are starting to get introduced for different widgets, and several concepts have surfaced that re-think the look of the Notification Center itself.

We've gathered three of the best Notification Center concepts, and they look beautiful. Let's hope that jailbreak devs will start distributing themes like these for Notification Center in iOS 5...

Introducing the iDB ‘Themes’ Page

For that reason, we are proud to unveil our new "Themes" page which will be the permanent hub for all of our theme coverage, video tutorials, walkthroughs, and faqs.

We plan to update our theme page with at least one new walkthrough of a popular theme each week, but likely more.

‘AlertArtist’ Lets Digital Picassos Spruce Up Their iPhone Notifications

I've never been a big themer; in fact, even though it's jailbroken I take pride in the fact that my iPhone looks pretty much stock most of the time.

Besides a few obvious omissions from my iPhone's Home screen, I try to keep it as clean as I possibly can.

With that in mind, it's no surprise that I'm not really big into WinterBoard, and other apps that allow you to customize the look of your iPhone.

There's a new exception to that rule, though. A new jailbreak app by the name of AlertArtist piqued my interest, and I've been hooked ever since...

Apple Once Again Sends Jailbreak Community a Direct Message

A few days ago, we reported that Scion, a subsidiary of Toyota, was trying to break into the jailbreak scene with innovative marketing methods. They were the first major corporation to direct positive attention to the community, since its inception in 2007.

This was exciting for a couple of reasons. First, a major corporation advertising in Cydia certainly made jailbreaking seem more legitimate. It also meant that other companies might follow Scion's lead.

Multiple major brand names marketing to jailbroken devices would have meant more recognition and credibility to the community as a whole. It appears that the silence from Apple was too good to be true. ModMyi is reporting today that they were asked by Apple to remove the Scion theme from their Cydia repo....
