Pwn20wnd surprised us all after launching unc0ver v8.0.0 Wednesday afternoon with support for A12 & A13-equipped devices running iOS & iPadOS 14.6-14.8. However, soon after trying the updated jailbreak for the first time, users of A12-equipped handsets on iOS or iPadOS 14.6 began reporting how their device registered as “unsupported” by the unc0ver jailbreak app.

Developmental news pertaining to iOS software security surfaced this week after the @ElcomSoft Twitter account shared screenshots of what appears to be a working forensic toolkit for A11-A13 handsets running iOS or iPadOS 14.4-14.8.
A fuzzy image circulating on jailbreak-oriented subreddits these past couple of weeks has received a lot of attention in the jailbreak community as of late, as it appears to depict iOS hacker and checkra1n team member @siguza commenting in a Discord channel about iOS & iPadOS 15 and the state of the checkra1n jailbreak.
Apple just this evening stopped signing iOS and iPadOS 15.1.1 (for the iPhone 12 and 13 lineups) and iOS and iPadOS 15.1 for all the rest of the company’s mobile devices after releasing iOS and iPadOS 15.2 just last week.
The iOS & iPadOS 14.8 update that Apple launched in mid-September was more than just a feature update. It also encompassed a fix for a considerably dangerous zero-click iMessage exploit dubbed FORCEDENTRY (CVE-2021-30860) that was being actively exploited by Israel’s NSO Group to target and surveil activists, journalists, and other high-profile occupations.
