Fifth Avenue Apple Store sold over 13,000 iPads in first 12 hours

Earlier today, both AT&T and Apple announced that they saw record-breaking iPad sales over the weekend. Neither company, however, gave any kind of specific sales figures.

So while everyone is speculating — we've heard it's well over a million — The Verge has gotten some ballpark estimates from the popular Fifth Avenue Apple Store in New York City...

New single-day record for iPad sales and activations for AT&T

Apple CEO Tim Cook said just this morning that the new iPad has broken records during its first weekend on sale, and now AT&T is also touting the tablet's successes.

AT&T spokesmen Seth Bloom said in a tweet this morning that the carrier has broken its own iPad sales and activation records over release weekend, with Friday seeing the biggest numbers to date.

That's no mean feat considering AT&T has had the iPad since day one, and that Verizon's LTE network is arguably stronger in the United States than AT&T's own. Cue Verizon's figures showing similar results...

Apple announces record iPad sales this weekend

Apple's new iPad may have been released on Friday, but the company is already crowing about its sales performances.

New CEO Tim Cook was asked about the new iPad's sales results during the conference call the company just held to explain what it is doing with that $100 billion war chest, and the answer was a simple one: Apple is "thrilled" by the iPad's performance.

Cook also went on saying that the new iPad had produced a "record weekend" although he did not elaborate on that comment. For all we know, he could mean the new iPad holds the record for most pixels, or shiniest box...

New iPad pre-orders sold out across all models

Well that didn't take long. Apple has now sold out of all new iPad models (here in the US at least) that were allotted for pre-order sales.

Yesterday, we pointed out that shipping times were slipping to March 19th on some models of Apple's latest tablet. But now it appears that all versions are seeing the delay...

Amazon paying top dollar for old iPads right now

Unless something totally unexpected happens, Apple is going to unveil a new tablet tomorrow. And if the past is any indication, it will become available for purchase within the next week or so.

That gives those of you still looking to sell off your old tablets to help pay for a new one, plenty of time to find the best deal. And word on the street is, you might want to check out Amazon...

dealBoard for iPhone puts all of your deal services in one place

Here at iDB, we love a good deal on well, pretty much anything. Who doesn't? The problem is that finding deals on the stuff we actually want to buy is pretty tough — even with services like Groupon or LivingSocial.

That's why we were excited when we came across the new dealBoard for iPhone app. The software searches over a dozen services, including the aforementioned Groupon and LivingSocial, to bring you deals on stuff you like...

Apple could break through its 100 millionth iPad this year

Apple is currently the top tablet manufacturer, leading over Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Samsung, and more. Apple's iPad sold an astonishing 15 million units in its 2011 holiday quarter alone, bringing the total number of iPads sold to about 55 million.

According to a few new reports from analysts, they suspect Apple could sell its 100 millionth iPad in 2012...

C-Spire Wireless now selling 16GB iPhone 4S for $150 with contract

Although the iPhone 4S retails for around $650 (16GB model), most folks can pick one up for significantly less than that. Carriers will generally absorb a large amount of the handset's cost as long as you promise to be a long-term customer.

Here in the US, all of the major carriers offer the 16GB iPhone 4S for $199 along with a two-year contract. And C-Spire Wireless, a southeastern regional operator, offers the entry-level iPhone 4S for just $149...

The ZAGGfolio gets a 29% discount today only

I just got a note from the fine folks at ZAGG that the ZAGGfolio, their iPad 2 keyboard case, is on sale today only for $70.99 instead of $99.99.

While I haven't personally tested the ZAGGfolio, I never had any problem with my ZAGGmate. I really like how you can customize the look and feel of your ZAGGfolio as you can pick the cover and color of the folio, but also the color of the keyboard...

iPad owners older and richer than other tablet owners

The iPad is the world's best selling tablet by a land-slide, selling a record 15.43 million units during Apple's holiday quarter. Selling for $500 a pop, and more pricier for better versions, Apple racks in serious cash from their iPad sales.

According to a new study called "Tablet Adoptions and Insight Report" conducted by NDP, it found that on average iPad owners are older and richer than those who own tablets made by other manufacturers...

The iPad Made Up 58% of Tablet Shipments During Last Quarter

New figures released today by Research firm Strategy Analytics suggest that Apple's iPad is still very much the top tablet for most, with Android's share growing thanks to a newcomer to the scene.

Releasing figures based on worldwide shipments of tablets during the fourth quarter of 2011, Strategy Analytics shared that 26.8 million tablets were shipped during the quarter, a 150% increase over the same period the year prior.

Apple's iPad saw 15.4 million units shipped during the fourth quarter of 2011, with Android sitting second with 10.5 million shipments...

Huge iPhone 4S Sales Knock Android Off Top Spot

Apple yesterday announced its sales numbers for the latest quarter, and what results they were. 37 million iPhones sold is not a number to be sniffed at, and it's one that was enough to see Apple overtake Samsung once more as the top dog in smartphone sales.

The huge number of iPhones sold has also seen Apple's smartphone overtake Android handsets, with the competition – HTC, Motorola – reporting less than stellar figures themselves...
