New Photos May Provide Clues About the Verizon iPhone

Are these the latest photos of the Verizon iPhone? Quite possibly. The fact that these skeletal snapshots are devoid of any drastic changes just may be indicative that we're looking at the real deal here.

Inside, we examine three additional photos that highlight the subtle changes between the current iPhone 4, and what may possibly be Apple's first foray into Verizon land...

Reality Check: How Wrong/Right Was I About my 2010 Predictions for the iPhone

On January 2nd, 2010, I wrote a post titled 10 predictions for the iPhone in 2010. Just like the title of the post suggested, I shared with you some of my predictions for the iPhone in this year that is about to end.

Looking back at what I predicted then, I'm glad to see that I was right on 90% of my predictions. In this post, I will go over each point and explain you how much I was wrong, or right in most cases...

Will Verizon Be Apple’s Valentine?

You gotta love all these Verizon iPhone rumors as it seems that every week, there is a new one being spread. The latest to date is a lovely rumor spread by Business Week, who got word from a "person familiar with Apple's plans who is not authorized to discuss them publicly" that Apple will be holding a special event on Valentine's Day to announce the new partnership with Verizon.

It seems we've heard that before, no? Oh yeah right, we've heard that about a zillion times and it never actually happened...

Is RubyRa1n GeoHot’s New iPhone Jailbreak?

When it rains in the jailbreak scene, that's a good thing. Now it looks like there might be some scattered showers in our forecast in the form of RubyRa1n, which is reportedly iPhone liberator GeoHot's lastest and greatest jailbreak tool.

The evidence? A domain name registered in his name on the same day that his most recent jailbreak tool, LimeRa1n, was registered...

Apple is Rumored to Ship 21 Million iPhones Next Quarter, 5 Million of Which Will Be CDMA

Digitimes reports that 21 million iPhones will be shipped in Q1 of 2011. In case you didn't know, "Q1" is an industry term for "quarter one;" each business year is composed of four quarters, with each quarter representing three months out of the year.

This scoop from Digitimes indicates that Apple will most likely be doing some sort of revamp to the iPhone before March of 2011. It's not that much of a stretch to think that Apple could have a fantastic first quarter and pull off selling 14-15 million regular iPhone 4 units, but what really makes this rumor interesting is that Digitimes says that 5-6 million of these devices will be CDMA iPhones.

Contacts with Taiwan-based component suppliers say that the CDMA iPhone will be launched in North America and Asia Pacific in the first quarter of 2011. Digitimes says, "Currently, Foxconn is the only maker of WCDMA iPhones, while Foxconn and Pegatron Technology have equally shared the production volume for the CDMA version, the sources noted..."

New Apple Patent May Indicate Future iPhone Antenna Plans

Now that the fallout from Antennagate has all but passed, Apple is exploring future options for antenna placement. They appear to be going back to the drawing board with the latest design; can you blame them?

As you are aware, the latest version of the iPhone, the iPhone 4, ditched the previous methods of embedding the antennas in favor of a metal band antenna forming a bezel around the phone. From a design standpoint this looked outstanding, but the good looks didn't exactly translate into good functionality...

Next iPhone to Sport Dual Core CPU?

The iPad rumors have been heating up as of late, with one analyst making speculations about what'll be under the hood of the popular tablet's next iteration. These rumors suggest that the iPad 2, or whatever Apple decides to call the iPad's yet to be named successor, will feature a dual core chip.

While that's not a surprising suggestion, seeing as both Motorola and RIM have dual core tablets on the horizon, what did catch our eye is the revelation that the next iPhone might follow suit...

mSpot Enables Cloud Syncing With iTunes But It’s Not Quite Ready For Primetime

The rumors have been circling for quite a while about an official iTunes cloud solution that makes streaming your music anywhere at anytime a reality. While we do think it's inevitable that iTunes will one day ride the cloud, those who are getting impatient now have an unofficial option.

mSpot is that option. An app that has been around for a while on other platforms, but just recently landed on the iPhone.

mSpot makes all of your unfulfilled fantasies about iTunes cloud storage come true; right now you can store 2GB of your music, and download the official mPlayer app free of charge. For those of you with larger music collections (note: like, everyone), mSpot offers you a fairly generous 40GB worth of storage for $3.99 a month...

Debunking the Verizon iPhone LTE Insane Rumors

Over the weekend, a website claiming that sources "we believe to be familiar with the matter" has made some pretty ballsy claims about the Verizon iPhone. Looking at the information shared by this website, it makes no doubt to me that they were just link baiting, you know, like making up stuff to get people to talk about them.

I didn't want to talk about it at first, but seeing how many people actually believe this, I had to raise my voice and tell what I really think about all this. Hint: this is all bs...

Verizon iPhone Confirmed By 3rd Party Contractor?

I typically don't dabble in the rumor pool, and Verizon iPhone rumors are about as useful as breaks on a Toyota, but I just had to pass along this little tidbit. A source contacted us, claiming to have new confirmation on the much talked about Verizon iPhone.

The source claimed they worked at a major network maintenance company, in Austin, Tx. There, they helped serve and maintain networks and servers for some of the largest companies in the states.

The story got interesting when they told us that at a budget meeting last month with Verizon, there was to be a drastic change in their needed services and costs over Q1 and Q2 of next year due to how much was being spent on the iPhone from Apple...

Guy Walks Into a Bar, Finds a White iPhone 4

I'm so sick of white iPhone 4 rumors, yet here I am writing about one. Apparently, another white iPhone 4 has been spotted in public. This time, the mythical device was allegedly spotted at bar (how ironic).

There have been dozens of proposed reasons for the infamous white iPhone 4 delay. The most popular rumor has been that there is an issue with the white paint coating from the production line.

Whatever the reason, the official release has been delayed several times. It was "available" for a short time on the Apple Store before it was pulled. The device has been allegedly caught on tape, and legitimately spotted in public...

iOS 4.3 Rumored to Have December Release

We've barely had time to get to know the newly released iOS 4.2, and there are already rumors circulating that iOS 4.3 will be released as soon as next month. In particular, two sources have weighed in on a possible iOS 4.3 release for the not so distant future.

The rumor mill began with some words from John Gruber about Rupert Murdoch's new, mobile-centric newspaper called "The Daily." Apparently, Murdoch has been forming a mobile-specific news publication under the umbrella of News Corp. This new publication is rumored to deliver news through a subscription system in Apple's App Store...
