iDB Holiday Gift Guide: Cody’s picks

One of my favorite things about the holidays is gift-hunting. Whether I'm looking for something to add to my own wish list, or shopping for others, I love trying to track down the perfect present. So as you can imagine, I enjoy taking part in iDB's annual Holiday Gift Guide.

My picks this year consist of both fun and practical gift ideas, that have proven to be well-made and well-reviewed. As you might have guessed, many of the suggestions are tech-related, but I did make sure to include a few non-tech ideas for those that prefer non-gadget gifts.

Tweaks of the week: AppDrawer, DeleteCut, and more

Like every Sunday we bring the latest jailbreak tweaks directly to you so you don't have to sift through Cydia looking for that special gem. We've seen a steady flow of tweak releases for the last few weeks, and this week is no different. Still waiting for that killer iOS 9 jailbreak tweak though...

Tweaks of the week: BackupAZ, Eclipse, Lylac, NCCards, and more

Another week, another steady flow of new tweaks. We're still waiting for that one tweak that could potentially take the crown of best tweak of the year, but in the meantime, we'll remain grateful for what we have.

Slightly off topic, if you haven't yet, you should listen to this week's episode of Let's Talk Jailbreak where I talk to Kevin Bradley (aka nitoTV) about the history of Apple TV jailbreaking.

iPad Pro review roundup: a new canvas for productivity and content creation

The reviews are in for Apple’s iPad Pro, which went on sale earlier this morning ahead of its retail launch later this week.

So, what’s this device good for? Is it simply a jumbo-sized iPad in the same sense as the iPad was called just an oversized iPhone?

Does the significant screen size increase bring any tangible benefits to your mobile computing beyond just a bigger canvas for your apps?

What about the Apple Pencil and Apple’s pricey keyboard cover, are these optional add-ons or essential accessories? Answers to these questions differ from one reviewer to another. Here’s our roundup of the best iPad Pro reviews on the web.

Tweaks of the week: LockBeam, Aeternum Hives, and more

Like every Sunday, we bring the newest jailbreak tweaks directly to you so you don't have to spend time scrolling down Cydia looking for what's new. Everything's here in one convenient list for you to peruse.

This week wasn't very eventful on the jailbreak tweaks front, with a number of releases that definitely won't shake the community. Still, we're grateful for all these developers pushing new tweaks and allowing us to do much more with our iPhones than Apple intends us to.

Tweaks of the week: Popcorn, Tactful, and more…

Now that Apple has stopped signing iOS 9.0.2, any chance to downgrade to that firmware version has gone down the drain, so we sure hope you did what you had to do when it was still possible to do it.

This week saw once again a solid amount of jailbreak tweak releases. We're still waiting for "the" tweak for iOS 9, but until then, all these smaller releases will do just fine.

In this post, we list all the tweaks that were released this week on Cydia. Check them out, and tell us which ones are your favorites.

28 new jailbreak tweaks to check out

With the release of iOS 9.1 this week, Apple officially put an end to the short life of the Pangu jailbreak for iOS 9. It doesn't mean we won't see another jailbreak from the team of hackers, but for the time being, we don't have many options: either stay on iOS 9.0.2 and keep your jailbreak, or update to iOS 9.1 and lose your jailbreak.

Despite that, developers have been hard at work pushing updates to their tweaks or releasing new tweaks in Cydia. Like every Sunday, we bring you all these new tweaks in one condensed post for you to peruse.

Jailbreak tweaks of the week: the floodgate is wide open

Talk about timing! As we were discussing the next best thing after jailbreaking on the last episode of Let's Talk Jailbreak, Pangu Team came out once again out of nowhere to surprise us with a release of their own. It seems the jailbreak drought is over and we can officially open the floodgates again.

Tweaks of the week: BatteryIcon, Mimoji, More Recent, and more

Just when you thought the jailbreak community was being hit by a tweaks drought, developers come out of nowhere to prove me wrong. For instance, jailbreak developer Creatix is responsible for the launch of no less than four tweaks this past week, and although they won't revolutionize the way you use your iPhone, they certainly will make your life a bit easier.

Kudos to all these devs who are still releasing new tweaks. You guys keep up the good work!

iPhone 6s review roundup: 3D Touch a major innovation, amazing cameras, fast performance

The iPhone 6s review embargo lifted this morning, and as is always the case, many outlets immediately published their reviews. Those reviewing the new iPhone 6s have been able to use the new digs for almost two weeks, which is plenty of time to form an accurate opinion.

The consensus? The iPhone 6s is a performance beast, and features amazing camera quality. But what stood out to me most about nearly all of the reviews were the thoughts on 3D Touch. In a nearly unanimous chorus, reviewers praised the iPhone 6s' flagship feature, which allows users to press on the screen to access new menus and features.
