iPhone App Review: Zombie Attack! Second Wave XL

Zombie Attack! Second Wave XL was created by IUGO Mobile Entertainment. They developed some decent games such as a physics puzzler called Implode! XL and a simple little survival game called Cliffed XL.

Their quality and know-how for games is not too shabby, so I expected the same from Zombie Attack! Bridge Defense XL. To save myself from agony of such a long name, I will now refer to it as simply, ZA.

ZA is a free roaming Tower Defense game in which you must defend against hordes of Zombies. If anybody has ever played the Xbox360 game called Left 4 Dead (which I loved!), you could consider it as the Tower Defense iPhone Version of that game, and I say that loosely...

Inception, There’s An App For That

It's not that often that an app like Inception comes along. That's right, Christopher Nolan's masterpiece film has its very own iPhone app!

The Inception app pioneers the use of augmented reality with sound. It synchronizes an augmented layer of music and ambient noise with the world around you.

This groundbreaking app experiment is the project of Christopher Nolan, Michael Breidenbrücke and Hans Zimmer. In case you didn't know, Christopher Nolan was the writer and director of the Inception movie and Hans Zimmer wrote and produced the movie's score...

Delta Airlines: iPhone Friendly

Delta Airlines, the world's largest airline, has been making great strides to stay relevant and continue providing helpful services to its customers. They have the largest fleet of WiFi-enabled planes, and they are now the first airline to start rolling out official charging stations in their airport terminals.

The technological traveler is always worrying about the state of their device's battery life before they board for a long plane trip. iPhones haven't exactly been known for their outstanding battery life.

Normally, one would have to scour the far corners of an airport gate to try to find an open outlet to get a last minute charge. Last week, Delta Airlines started installing charging stations for all kinds of devices in the gates of 19 major American airports...

Doodle Fit for iPhone App Review

Doodle Fit was created by Gamelion Studios and is currently one of the top rated, selling and performing puzzle games in the App Store. The objective is really simple. You are presented with a large outlined shape and must fit smaller Tetris-esque blocks to match that given shape.

The game begins very easily to help you get the hang of the concept. You will begin with easy shapes such as Squares and Triangles, but as you progress in the game it will become increasingly difficult...

Mobile Cloth Review

The folks from Mobile Cloth contacted me last week saying they wanted to send their product for review. As usual, I replied telling them they could send me their product for review but there was absolutely no guarantee that I'd talk about it on iDB.

Besides, I wasn't really excited with the product they wanted to send me: a cleaning cloth. That was until I actually received the Mobile Cloth and tried it on with all my devices, the results were pretty astonishing...

App Review: Train Conductor 2

Train Conductor 2: USA is by the developer The Voxel Agents. I saw this game sitting in one of the App Store’s many lists and looking at the 4 star ratings made me do one of those impulse buys that I’m sure you all can relate to.

The game begins with a short tutorial and within a minute or so I figured out what I had to do. The objective is very simple, you must guide oncoming trains to their assigned track without crashing into one another...

Filopanti Does Simple and Pretty Time Zone Conversion

Time zones are a pain. There are 40 time zones in the world, and 4 in the United States. There are so many instances when it's necessary to know what time it is somewhere far away. I've been looking for any easy way to convert time zones on the iPhone for a long time, and Filopanti fits the bill perfectly.

"Filopanti" is named after Quirico Filopanti, who was the first person in history to propose a worldwide system of time zones in 1858. Filopanti's interface is elegant and dead easy to use. With Filopanti, you'll never be wondering what time it is across the country or on the other side of the world...

App Review: Hotel Mogul

Hotel Mogul is by Alaware Entertainment and is actually the prequel to the game I reviewed a couple weeks ago, Vacation Mogul. Hotel Mogul is about a successful Real Estate Entrepreneur named Lynette, who lost her company in a nasty divorce with her husband. Determined to get her company back, she decides to make a new company to buy her old company back.

Just like Vacation Mogul you are given cash, materials and construction workers to build real estate and make specific goals for completing a level...

Review: SIM Cutter to Trim Your iPhone SIM Card

Apple loves to use and impose new standards for their products. That's why you need a micro SIM in order to use an iPad 3G or the iPhone 4.

If like me you travel a lot and get SIM cards in various countries to use in your unlocked iPhone 4, you're going to need a SIM card cutter, as most carriers aren't offering micro SIMs, especially for pay-as-you-go plans.

Sure you could do this yourself, but do you really want to take the risk of messing up your SIM card? If not, then a SIM card cutter is your best bet...

That’s the Kind of Review You Want to Get for Your App

This is definitely the kind of rating and review that any app developer would like to get for his application.

I don't know what this app is. I just found this image accidentally on Twitter, via @rupinjapan. If you know the app, please let me know because it looks like it's definitely worth a download.
