AT&T brings push-to-talk to the iPhone 4S and 5

AT&T's big announcement got lost somewhere in the cracks of the onslaught of WWDC news yesterday. The carrier launched a new iPhone app this weekend that brings enhanced push-to-talk (EPTT) to the popular handset.

The app, which is aptly named AT&T Enhanced Push-To-Talk, allows iPhone 4S and 5 users to communicate quickly using next-generation VoIP technology to deliver one-to-one or group calls over AT&T's 3G and 4G networks...

Gameloft releases Gangstar Vegas on App Store

Your wild trip through Las Vegas starts today: French games maker Gameloft has just released the latest Grand Theft-inspired open world action game on the App Store. Gangstar Vegas has you rolling up on a new trip through the City of Sin, the outrageous Las Vegas.

There are 80 missions in the initial release and maps are nine times the size of previous Gangstars. You can play either in a story mode, with challenges like races, fights, carnage missions and breaking the bank in casino games. Oh, and you get to play as a mixed martial arts fighter...

Comedy Central releases Stand-Up app with over 6,000 videos

Though they didn't like it at first, TV networks seem like they're finally coming around to the idea of taking their content mobile. Most major networks now have at least part of their programming lineup available, on demand, in their mobile apps.

But the folks over at Comedy Central have taken things to another level. The Viacom-owned station just released an app called CC: Stand-Up, and it includes over 6,000 videos from its vault of both amateur and high-profile stand-up comedy footage...

Gameloft posts first teaser trailer for Modern Combat 5

Fans of the popular first-person shooter franchise Modern Combat will be happy to hear that Gameloft has just posted the first teaser trailer for the next iteration of the game, Modern Combat 5.

As you can imagine, the trailer doesn't offer up too many details about the game itself. But it does feature a handful of entertaining action sequences in near-console quality graphics. Enjoy...

Take gorgeous black and white photos with Camera Noir

The camera app space has to be one of the hardest to break into in all of the App Store. Dominated by heavy-hitters like Instagram, and a selection pool of thousands of other options, you'd think it'd be almost impossible to stand out.

But the folks over at Pacific Helm think their new app Camera Noir has what it takes to distinguish itself from the competition. Using a tuned monochrome filter, it promises to help you take 'stunning' black and white photos...

Adobe releases new Kuler color-picking app for iPhone

I guess the title could have read: "Adobe finally releases Kuler color-picking app for iPhone," because the company announced it nearly 2 years ago. Adobe introduced the app as part of a suite of new touch-friendly applications back in October of 2011.

But better late than never. Kuler hit the App Store this morning as the color-picking app Adobe originally promised. You can capture colors using your iPhone's camera, or previously downloaded photos, and you can create and save your own color themes...

Developer of ‘Elements’ iOS app teases upcoming release using Passbook

Fans will be happy to hear today that Second Gear, the developers of the popular iOS note-taking and Markdown editing app Elements, have a new application in the works. We don't yet know what that app is, but we do know how they'll announce it.

Passbook, apparently. The team has created an information server called Pit Pass, and it will actually push updates regarding the status of their new app to devices using Passbook. It's a clever idea, that has heightened anticipation for their new software...

Review: Analog Camera, from the makers of the popular Clear to-do app

Realmac Software's highly anticipated photography app, Analog Camera, has finally landed on the App Store this morning.

Drawing from Analog Camera for the Mac and the company's user interface skills honed developing the popular Clear to-do software, this brand new iPhone photography app gets rid of the clutter to focus on just a few barebone features.

But even though its undisputedly polished and effective interface signals an interesting new direction for iPhone photography software, is less really more in the case of Analog Camera? Read on for the full review...

NaturalMotion says highly anticipated iOS game Clumsy Ninja is ‘coming soon’

During its iPhone 5 event last fall, Apple invited NaturalMotion CEO Torsten Reil on stage to show off their upcoming iOS game Clumsy Ninja, running on a 5th-gen iPod touch. The demo showed innovative, interactive gameplay, drawing plenty of oohs and aahs from the crowd.

As he wrapped up his presentation, Reil told attendees that the title would be arriving in time for the 2012 holiday season. But here we are in May of 2013, and we've yet to hear any news on a release date. In fact, the developers have been dead silent about the game. Until today...

Still renting discs? Blockbuster has an app for that.

Remember Blockbuster? The once popular video and game rental chain got pushed to the brink of relevancy as the likes of Netflix, Hulu, iTunes and Amazon took over.

But if you're stuck in the old age and still rent movies on discs, Blockbuster's re-written iOS app could come in handy for managing your physical rentals on the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad devices.

Some of the welcome features include the ability to scan your membership card for in-store checkout and check movie availability on a per-store basis. And for those of us that have long moved on, Blockbuster earlier this month released a brand new On Demand iOS streaming app...

AirPlay streaming, HDMI out and web UI coming to Infuse media player

I was quite excited about Infuse, a versatile and nice-looking iOS media player by FireCore, the team behind the aTV Flash Black. The one and only major gripe I had with the software is its absence of AirPlay streaming, which is quite a limiting factor if you want to watch your media on the big screen TV through your Apple TV. While AirPlay support is definitely coming in a future update, the team yesterday issued a small update fixing minor inconsistencies and tweaking a few features...

Olloclip releases companion iPhone app for popular lens accessory

In the world of iPhone photography accessories, there's perhaps no better known name than Olloclip. The 3-in-1 clip-on lens started out as just a Kickstarter project, but it has since become a mainstay in Apple Stores and shutterbug bags alike.

Fans of the Olloclip will be happy to hear that the team released a new iPhone app this weekend, also named Olloclip, designed to work with the popular accessory. The app features a mesh editor, useful modes like Video and Macro, and more...
