Google outs Shopping Express same-day delivery

Yes, Google is now in the package delivery business, sort of. The New York Times last October reported that the Internet giant was testing a new service that had been more than a year in the making.

In partnership with select few San Francisco retailers, Google was reportedly testing its own same-day delivery service akin to the likes of Wal-Mart, Amazon.com, eBay and the United States Postal Service.

Yesterday, the search monster announced that Shopping Express is now open to people living in the Bay Area delivery zones, from San Francisco to San Jose. Marking the launch, Google also posted an iOS and Android app which lets you buy stuff from participating retailers with same-day express shipping...

FIFA 14 is now available in the App Store

After teasing FIFA 14, the latest installment in its long-running soccer franchise, the superpublisher Electronic Arts last week soft-launched the game for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad devices on the New Zealand App Store - a week ahead of its console release. The game is now available in the US App Store as a free download, per Electronic Arts's promise to switch FIFA games to the prevalent freemium model...

Infinity Blade III launches on the App Store

Infinity Blade has long been a so-called system seller, an iOS masterpiece meant to highlight the power of Apple's iOS platform by taking the GPU inside your iPhone, iPod touch and iPad to its limits.

Developer Chair said in July that Infinity Blades: Dungeons had been canceled due to internal reshuffling that saw the company focus on the third installment in the series, Infinity Blade III.

Apple during its iPhone 5s/5c keynote last month invited representatives from Chair to demo the game on stage. In a quick follow-up, Chair then posted a trailer video and this morning the game surfaced on the App Store, ahead of the expected iOS 7 release later today...

New Infinity Blade III video posts ahead of next week’s release

Chair has today posted a new video teasing its upcoming Infinity Blade III title, the third installment in the developer's popular hack-and-slash series. The game first debuted during Apple's iPhone event on Tuesday, where it demonstrated the power of the A7.

Today's clip is entitled 'Infinity Blade: Origins,' and it does a great job of summing up events in the first two games and introducing the third. In typical Infinity Blade-fashion, both graphics and audio of the video are top-notch—so it's definitely worth watching...

‘Where’s My Water? 2’ now available for download

Disney has posted another episode to its popular Where's My Water? series today called 'Where's My Water? 2.' It's the franchise's fourth installment, and it brings back Swampy the alligator from the original release.

The latest sequel to the physics-based puzzler comes with three brand new locations including the Sewer, the Soap Factory, and the Beach. And it features more than 100 new levels, and an all-new challenge mode...

Readdle launches iOS 7-ified Calendars 5

With so much on my plate, you could imagine that daily productivity of yours truly depends on a powerhouse mobile calendar software. I've been a longtime fan of Fantastical from Flexibits, but that's not saying I'm married to it. In fact, I'm expected to test new applications on a daily basis by virtue of my job.

Developer Readdle makes some of the finest productivity apps on the App Store and they just launched Calendars 5, a major new release optimized for the iOS 7 look and feel. It packs in such features as natural language input (take that, Fantastical!), support for iOS reminders, tasks, Google Calendars and much more...

Infinity Blade III coming to iOS September 18 for $6.99

I'm not sure how it happened, but somewhere amidst all of the excitement yesterday, we completely neglected to talk about the new Infinity Blade game. For those who missed it, Apple brought Chair's Donald Mustard up on stage during its iPhone event to introduce Infinity Blade III.

The move, of course, was to help Apple show off the power of the iPhone 5s' new A7 processor, but it was a big moment for Infinity Blade fans as well. After the 'Dungeons' title was canceled, the future of the franchise was uncertain. But Chair put all those concerns to rest yesterday...

Yahoo’s new Screen iOS app is a remote control for web video

The struggling Internet giant - once synonymous for anything remotely dealing with online content - on Monday issued a brand new app called Yahoo Screen.

The company is billing the app as a remote control for web video of sorts. More appropriately, Yahoo Screen is your one-stop shop for both Yahoo's original and licensed video content.

You can instantly stream news, sports, food, and entertainment videos from MLB, UFC, The Onion, Martha Stewart and lots more, free of charge (no strings attached). But that's just scratching the surface as Yahoo's licensed video library includes such TV shows as Saturday Night Live, along with Yahoo Originals featuring Jack Black, Ed Helms, Zachary Levi, Cheryl Hines, Rachael Harris and more...

Opera unveils new iPad-only browser, Coast

Opera Software, a Norwegian developer primarily known for its Opera family of web browsers with over 350 million users worldwide, today unleashed a brand new iPad browser.

It's called Coast and they're billing it as "the browser that should have come with the iPad." If anything, Coast strives to answer the question, "What should a tablet browser be?”

It's packed with advanced features and features an unassumingly minimalistic user interface. Opera insists it's not a mere mobile browser tweak, nor a scaled-down PC browser.

"It is something new," Opera teased Monday, although I'm not sure that's the right choice of words as Coast is based on Safari's WebKit engine, in accordance with App Store rules. Anyway, the new browser is based on intuitive swipe gestures and Opera claims to have invented a lot of technology that "works under the hood, keeping you safe and secure".

Music fans can now add another streaming music service to their list of options on iOS. Microsoft quietly released an official app for its Xbox Music platform this weekend, which allows users to stream music to their iPhone or iPod.

Gameloft teases ‘Thor: The Dark World’ with new trailer

Marvel Comic fans will be happy to hear that Gameloft has released a new trailer for their upcoming title 'Thor: The Dark World - The Official Game.' The game is expected to be released alongside the blockbuster movie of the same name.

Gameloft first announced The Dark World back in July at San Diego Comic Con, where they showed off a short 40-second clip of impressive gameplay. And today they're back with a full 60-second trailer, which we've posted after the fold...

Upcoming iPhone app ‘Ping’ fuses email and instant messaging

There's a war going on right now for email, and a major battleground is the mobile app space. On iOS alone, there are a number of applications that promise to change the way you use electronic mail like Mailbox and Dispatch.

And today we're adding another one to the list: Ping. Ping is an upcoming iPhone app that packs a number of useful features like snooze, push notifications and search, and it can replace email conversations with IM-like threads...
