Angry Birds Go! arriving December 11, here’s new gameplay video

Angry Birds maker back in June teased its upcoming Angry Birds-themed kart racing game. Named Angry Birds Go, the game will be set on a 3D Piggy Island and include tons of characters with unique special powers and a fully rendered 3D world.

Then in August, the Finnish developer released more information, revealing the title will be a tie in with energy drinks maker Red Bull.

On Tuesday, Rovio gave us a release date and published a gameplay video which shows off game mechanics while revealing a bunch of bird and pig characters from the Angry Birds series. I've included the video and a few additional tidbits right after the break...

SnapHack for iPhone lets anyone save your incriminating Snapchats permanently

Your online privacy is an elastic concept. No, I'm not referring to the NSA eavesdropping on your online communications or breaking into your iPhone or harvesting your online address books. Let's talk about Snapchat for a minute.

A quick backgrounder for the uninitiated: developed by Stanford University students, Snapchat is a handy photo messaging application that exploded in popularity soon after people realized they can send their photos to a controlled list of recipients and set a time limit for how long they can view them.

After the cut-off time, the snaps are automatically deleted from both the recipient's device and Snapchat's servers. As a bonus, Snapchat features a built-in mechanism that informs the other side when you screenshot their snaps. Now, you can imagine why Snapchat blew up in no time as some folks predominantly use the application to expose their body parts and share their candid shots.

A new iPhone app called SnapHack changes all that by bypassing Snapchat's screenshot notifications and pulling unopened content from Snapchat's servers. Plus, the company behind Snapchat yesterday detailed law enforcement requests. Jump past the fold for the full breakdown...

Flipcase: your iPhone 5c case becomes part of the game

To say that Flipcase, a new iPhone game by Dave McKinney and Stuart Hall, is interesting would be understating its cleverness, originality and inventiveness.

This ingenious take on Hasbro's classic four-in-a-row invites you to use Apple's iPhone 5c case with its circular holes on the back as a grid, which makes it fun and more three-dimensional.

Simply attach your case to the device's front and tap through the holes in the case to play. Whoever connects four holes of the same colors wins. How cool is that? Very cool! Jump past the fold for more awesomeness...

Google’s rumored Mobile Meter iOS app will give rewards in exchange for your privacy

Privacy-minded folks won't like this: word on the street is that the Internet giant Google is readying a new app for iOS and Android devices that will reward people for tracking their mobile habits and patterns.

Dubbed Mobile Meter, the software has reportedly been conceived to give Google a much deeper insight into how owners of smartphones and tablets use their devices.

This is especially eyebrow-raising given Apple's tight control of its ecosystem. In order to persuade people into installing Mobile Meter on their devices, the search monster will ostensibly reward people in exchange for their mobile trends. More tidbits right below...

Google to bring its augmented-reality game ‘Ingress’ to iOS next year

Google has begun work on an iOS version of its mobile augmented-reality game Ingress, according to a new report from AllThingsD. The game launched into closed beta last year, and has so far seen about one million Android activations.

If you've never heard of the title, it's essentially a 'social game' set around a live story that Google updates every week with new clues. Players score points by collaborating with strangers to find clues and claim local landmarks for their team...

Final Fantasy VI arriving this winter, FF VII being considered

It has never been a better time to be both a Final Fantasy and an Apple fan. Square Enix released Final Fantasy V for the iPhone and iPad back in March (and Final Fantasy IV hit iOS last December), however the publisher isn't resting on its laurels.

According to Square Enix director Takashi Tokita, the next chapter in the Final Fantasy saga is set to unfold in the coming weeks as the firm, formed as the result of a merger between Square and Enix, gears up to release Final Fantasy VI on iOS and Android this winter. Microsoft’s Remote Desktop app coming to App Store later this month

Just as Microsoft's exiting CEO Steve Ballmer yesterday officially confirmed that Redmond won't release Office for iPad until after a touch-optimized edition hits Windows devices, we're hearing that the Windows maker will release its Remote Desktop software for iOS and Android devices later in October.

Transport Tycoon now available on the App Store

Back in July, we received word that an official port of Transport Tycoon would be coming to iOS this year. The game, which was originally released for PCs back in 1994, is still regarded as one of the best simulators of all time.

Well for those who missed it, the game landed in the App Store this weekend and is now available for download. It's been redesigned from the ground up for touchscreen, and has thus far received high ratings from reviewers...

Argus is the first app to officially take advantage of the new M7 motion coprocessor found inside the iPhone 5s. As the floodgates are open now, small wonder fitness software makers are scrambling to update their warez with support for the power-efficient chip.

If you own an iPhone 5s, it's already tracking your movement on a daily basis so M7-compatible apps have a history of what iOS has already recorded to work with.

You can now add David Smith's Pedometer++ to your list of apps which take advantage of the M7 rather than dutifully perform motion calculations day in day out using the power-hungry A7 processor...

Volkswagen shows off augmented reality iPad app for repair technicians

Apple's iPad has been used for a number of various augmented-reality applications which impose real-world information over live video feed. The car industry seems to be particularly keen on embracing the Apple tablet. Cody last month told you about eKurzinfo, an Audi app that uses an iOS device camera to help identify parts and features on your car.

Today, Volkswagen is highlighting a similar augmented-reality software, but aimed at repair technicians and car dealers. It's called MARTA (Mobile Augmented Reality Technical Assistance) and Volkswagen showed it off ahead of the InsideAR Conference, the world's largest augmented reality conference slated to run October 11, 2013 in Munich, Germany...

Cut the Rope 2 coming this holiday season

Cut the Rope series won over fans of physic-based puzzlers with its amusing concept of feeding candy to a little green monster named Om Nom while collecting stars. Who knew, right? Last month, Apple featured Cut the Rope as its Free App of the Week (it's never been free on the App Store before).

Today, Russia-based developer ZeptoLab confirmed that a sequel is coming this holiday season.

Cut the Rope 2 will bring new amusing characters, interactive backgrounds and physics-based challenges while retaining the familiar candy-dropping gameplay mechanics. I've include more information after the break...
