MLB Advanced Media teases upcoming RBI Baseball reboot

Earlier this year, the MLB and its in-house development studio MLB Advanced Media announced that they would be teaming up to revive the classic RBI Baseball franchise. The game series, which first debuted on the NES in 1986, hasn't seen a new addition in nearly 20 years.

But that's set to change soon with RBI Baseball 14 for mobile devices and consoles. And judging by the comments made by MLBAM's VP of games Jamie Leece today, it's going to feature the same fast-paced gameplay and simple controls that users loved about the original title...

Rovio says upcoming ‘Angry Birds Epic’ game is a turn-based RPG

Over the weekend, Rovio posted a teaser trailer for an unknown, upcoming Angry Birds title. The clip was short, and offered up few details about the game outside of showing a bird wearing knight's armor and announcing countries that would participate in the soft launch.

Well today, the studio revealed that the game is going to be called Angry Birds Epic and it's not going to be the typical bird-flinger. In fact, far from it. The new title will actually fall into the 'adventure role-playing' genre, with a turn-based combat system and extensive crafting...

Marvel announces ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ coming to iOS in April

Marvel and Gameloft have announced this week that they are teaming up to bring The Amazing Spider-Man 2 to smartphones and tablets this spring as the official game for the film of the same name. Both are slated to land in mid-April.

For those that didn't play the original Amazing Spider-Man, it was actually quite successful—it has a rating of 4.5 stars on the App Store. And version 2 appears to offer similar gameplay with better controls and graphics. Here's the trailer...

Rovio teases yet another new Angry Birds game

It hasn't even been a month yet since Rovio unveiled its new game 'Angry Birds Stella,' and the studio has already begun to tease a new title for its hit franchise. A 30-second clip showing a bird wearing a suit of armor popped up on Rovio's YouTube channel over the weekend.

The trailer instructs users to prepare for the most 'epic soft launch ever,' suggesting that the new game will be launching in the near future. It also tells us that the game will be arriving in Australia and Canada first, with other countries to follow shortly after. View the clip below...

Fruit Ninja developer Halfbrick Studios announces its latest puzzle game, Bears vs. Art

Halfbrick Studios may not be as prolific as big name studios when it comes to churning out new iPhone and iPad games on a monthly, sometimes even weekly basis, but their addictive games had me burn lots of midnight oil.

Today, the creator of Jetpack Joyride and Fruit Ninja has announced its latest puzzle game, Bears vs. Art. Soft-launched in Australia in Canada (global launch is due "soon"), Bears vs. Art involves Rory the bear and some stuck-up art connoisseurs.

The concept combines elements of speed and action to create "a totally new experience" in which our hero must sabotage supposed works of art in more than a hundred galleries. Medium iPhone app is coming next week

Medium, a rising blog publishing platform dedicated to high-quality writing, is launching its native iPhone application next week, The New York Times' Bits Blog reported yesterday. Filing as Medium's first mobile application since the service's inception in 2012, the app will initially be strictly focused on reading Medium posts and won't include editing functionality akin to, say, WordPress's free iOS app.

The service already has a great mobile site that looks business on small form-factor devices and releasing a native iPhone app could go a long way toward boosting its appeal among mainstream users...

Amazon quietly launched a new mobile application yesterday called Amazon Seller. As the name suggests, the app was designed to help individuals and businesses manage their product listings on Amazon's Marketplace and communicate with their customers.

Marvel announces ‘Uncanny X-Men: Days of Future Past’ coming to iOS in May

X-Men fans will be happy to hear that Marvel has announced that a mobile tie-in game for its upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past film is in the works. The publisher announced today that it has teamed up with studio Glitchsoft to create 'Uncanny X-Men: Days of Future Past.'

In a blog post this afternoon, Glitchsoft wrote that the game will give X-Men enthusiasts the chance to engage Marvel’s 1981 landmark Days of Future Past comic book story arc in an immersive and story-driven game 'unlike anything available on mobile.' Read on for more details...
