How to use window snapping with HyperDock on Mac

As many of you guys know, I'm a huge HyperDock ($9.99 on the Mac App Store) proponent. I use it primarily to have access to window previews of running apps in the OS X dock, but the tweak has additional features as well.

The biggest side benefit to using HyperDock is its window snapping capabilities. It's not the deepest window snapping feature-set out there, but if you need basic Windows-like functionality, it's should have more than enough to win you over.

Fast Toggles 2, now with twice as many toggles and Yosemite support

The makers of the original productivity bundle Fast Toggles has just recently launched a brand new package with additional functions to make your daily computing actions a few steps easier.

Fast Toggles 2 is a file download package for Mac that is filled with quick button shortcuts for such things as Dark Mode, Do Not Disturb controls, and seven-pass erase for your trash folder.

Wunderlist gets smarter with folders, Quick Add for iPhone, overhauled design and more

German developer 6Wunderkinder just pushed a major new update to its excellent list-making app, Wunderlist.

Billed as one of the biggest updates to Wunderlist ever, both the iOS and OS X edition of the software have received a brand new look stemming from a refreshing pop color and twelve hand-crafted pictograms. The facelift simplifies the Home view and makes it a lot easier on the eyes.

Wunderlist users on the web, Windows and Chrome can expect to see the new look interface over the course of the next few weeks.

OneNote for iPhone gains note previews, Mac edition improves collaboration

Thursday, Microsoft made the iPhone and Mac edition of OneNote even better by adding previews to help quickly find notes on the Apple smartphone while bringing out more notebook sharing enhancements on the Mac.

Note previews are comprised of a headline and an excerpt of the text and include a small thumbnail to help visualize its contents.

These snapshots are readily glanceable from your page list and your Recent Notes list and even incorporate handwriting so it's really easy to quickly locate the note you want to read or edit on the go.

Command & Conquer: Generals Deluxe Edition hits Mac App Store with 5K Retina graphics support

Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath launches on Mac

Following its debut on the iOS platform back in November 2014, Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath has now launched on OS X and includes syncing your game progress through iCloud with its iPhone and iPad counterpart.

Now available for $9.99 on the Mac App Store, the popular platform-based action adventure was originally released on the Xbox back in 2005. This full-on port tells the story of a troubled bounty hunter trying to earn Moolah for a life-saving operation out in the Outlaw-addled backwaters of Western Mudos.

iMovie for Mac gains Photos for OS X integration

iMovie, Apple's consumer-level software for editing video bundled free with every new Mac sold, has been refreshed today with support for the upcoming Photos for OS X application, which launches later this year.

With Photos for OS X integration, iMovie users can add photos to their projects by browsing their Moments, Collections, Favorites and Albums that have been stored in Photos for Mac, without leaving iMovie.

iA Writer, the popular iOS/Mac app for focused writing, launches on Android

iA Writer, one of the best and most popular iPhone, iPad and Mac applications for distraction-free writing on the go, has been ported to Android and is now available for download in the Play store.

German developer Information Architects GmbH broke the news in a blog post earlier today. Like the iOS edition, iA Writer for Android is a paid download costing five bucks.

On Android, the app sports the familiar, polished interface with Focus Mode that highlights the current sentence being written. It also syncs with Dropbox and does Markdown — again, just like its iOS counterpart does.

Tweetbot developer lays out iOS and Mac app roadmap, makes Weightbot free

Today, developer Tapbots has shared some updates concerning state of development of its popular iOS and Mac Twitter client, Tweetbot, and the whole software lineup for that matter.

For starters, a completely redesigned Tweetbot 2.0 for Mac with Yosemite-friendly look and feel has been in the works for quite some time now. Tweetbot 4.0 for iOS is being readied as well.

“We are going to do a better job keeping our current apps up to date with each new OS release,” they promised. In addition, the company announced closing other projects in order to focus resources on upcoming (and long overdue) updates to Tweetbot for Mac and iPad.

Spotify announces Musixmatch lyrics integration in desktop apps and other goodies

Spotify, the world's top music-streaming service, on Thursday announced its desktop apps will be soon getting Musixmatch-powered lyrics engine, making it easy for music lovers to access song lyrics on their Mac or Windows PCs and sing along to their favorite tracks.

Established in early 2010 by Massimo Ciociola and a group of co-founders, the startup, which has offices in Italy's Bologna, UK's London and US's New York, has more than seven million lyrics in 38 languages.

In addition to Spotify integration, Musixmatch is also available as a standalone iPhone and iPad application, available at no cost in the App Store.

Apple says FCPX is ready for the big leagues, showcases its usage in ‘Focus’ movie production

Focus, an upcoming movie starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie, has become the first Hollywood flick to have been edited entirely in Apple's Final Cut Pro X software, USA Today reported Wednesday.

In advance of the film's silver screen debut this coming Friday, Apple set up a dedicated webpage on its website to showcase how the romantic comedy was shot and edited using not just Final Cut Pro X, but other standard software readily available to anyone on the Mac App Store.
