iRetinizeBoot Gives Your Old School Icons a Retina Display Upgrade

The iPhone 4 was quite a change from the 3GS. The sleek and sexy curved case turned into a more mature rectangle arrangement. But with the big redesign also came upgraded hardware. For example, the iPhone 3GS had a 480x320 display. The iPhone 4 doubled that with its Retina screen.

Apple's Retina display is capable of a ridiculous resolution of 960x640. That's why everything on your iPhone 4 looks so sharp. If some of your app icons still appear pixelated or not as sharp, you may want to check this out...

CyDelete Allows You to Delete Jailbroken Apps Quickly

CyDelete is nothing new. In fact we reported on it on iDB a few years ago when the tweak was released in Cydia. But if you remember back to its introduction then you might remember it had some problems.

Its biggest issue, for me, was stability. I would go to delete an application from my springboard and the icon would disappear from my home screen. But when I went into Cydia, the package still looked like it was installed. This didn't happen to me every time, but even once or twice was enough to make me uninstall it and delete apps the correct way...

New Cydia Tweak Makes Your iPhone Alarm Louder

Are you a heavy sleeper? I know I am. So much in fact that I have a nighttime ritual of setting multiple alarm clocks. I set a dedicated alarm clock on my nightstand, as well as multiple iPhone alarms using the 'Clock.App'. If I'm really nervous about waking up, I will even set a timer.

But even with all of my preparation, I've been known to sleep through the buzzers and the midi files that just weren't loud enough to bring me out of my slumber. Is there any way to make the alarm on the iPhone louder?

‘BusyBar’ Brings the In-Call Status Bar to Your iPhone Apps

"I'll come right back to that."

How many times have you thought that when leaving an app, only to forget to ever come back?

Fortunately, now you have a helper to remind you entitled BusyBar -- a free jailbreak tweak for the iPhone downloadable on Cydia.

The purpose of BusyBar is very simple -- to enable you to put your apps "on hold" and to come back to them at a more convenient time...

Magic Fingers Gives Your iPhone New Multi-Touch Gestures

It appears that those of you who missed out on the hidden multi-touch gestures in iOS 4.3 GM are in luck. Without a lot of effort, you too can have the ability to close down your applications with a swipe of your fingers.

Enter Magic Fingers, a new tweak released yesterday in Cydia that will allow you to exit the current app you're in by touching your iPhone with multiple fingers. The application doesn't cost anything to download, but since it is in Cydia you must be jailbroken to get it...

‘Color Mail Labels’ Makes Your Unified Email Inbox Easier to Read

iOS 4.0's release seems like an eternity ago, but it's still one of my favorite iOS updates ever due to the unified email box.

The unified email box is a method to view all of your email in one spot; a culmination of all of your email accounts if you will.

But there is one standing issue that comes from having all of your email bunched together in one box -- it's difficult to tell where the email originated.

Wouldn't it be great if it were easier to discern which emails came from which account? That's where Color Mail Labels comes in…

FlipOver Allows You to Mute or Lock Your iDevice by Turning it Face Down

I love it when an application is unobtrusive and functional. You don't get many of these from Apple's App Store because they have such strict rules for developers. There must be an icon added to the home screen and there are certain parts of iOS the app cannot access.

This is a big reason why my iDevices are jailbroken and why I like Cydia so much. It's basically a hot bed for innovation as developers have far less limitations when submitting apps to the Cydia Store. FlipOver is a perfect example of that innovation...

‘Celeste’ Brings Apple Quality Bluetooth Sharing to Your iPhone

They say good things are worth waiting for, so maybe that's why it seems like the wait for Celeste has been forever.

Is it just me, or is Celeste one of the most hyped and anticipated jailbreak tweaks to come around in quite some time?

The Cocoanuts -- the development team behind Celeste and a handful of other popular iPhone tweaks -- did a pretty good job hyping and marketing its release.

So much so, that even in the wee hours of the morning, their activation servers couldn't handle the load shortly after it debuted on the Cydia store.

But the question remains; is all the hype surrounding Celeste deserved? Was Celeste worth salivating over the past few weeks? Check inside for the full lowdown...

App Denied from App Store Makes Its Way to Cydia

The Tawkon app would have probably gone unnoticed in the App Store, but not being approved by Apple in the first place is probably the best thing that ever happened to it.

The developer of the app had been in contact with Apple executives who apparently loved the app. Everything looked fine until they got an email from Apple saying their app couldn't be approved.

The dev emailed Steve Jobs about it, asking why the app wasn't approved, to which Steve replied "No interest". Clear enough! So the developer decided to bring his app to Cydia...

Celeste Bluetooth File Transfer App Now Available in Cydia

It's finally here! The team behind Celeste, CocoaNuts, has officially released Celeste, the long awaited Bluetooth file transfer app for iOS4.

As a refresher, Celeste is a jailbreak app that allows your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch running iOS 4.2 or later to receive files from any mobile phone and any computer (Mac or PC) that supports OBEX Bluetooth file transfers.

Xpandr is Back in my Top 5 Favorite Jailbreak Apps

I've talked about Xpandr before, the jailbreak app that allows you to create shortcuts, a la TextExpander. When iOS 4 came up, it seems that Xpandr didn't support it right away, which led me to remove it from my iPhone, or rather not install it when a jailbreak for iOS 4 came out. Up until now, I was using TextExpander which is great but is supported by very few apps in iOS.

Yesterday, while I was calling for a dev to create a jailbreak tweak to integrate TextExpander to any iOS application, I was quickly reminded by several of you of the existence of Xpandr, so I installed it again, and to my great surprise, I realized it was working with iOS 4. The love story started all over again...
