The Automee S: a tiny robot that cleans iPhone and iPad screens

Raise your hand if you like robots. Ok, now raise your hand if you hate cleaning the fingerprints and debris off of your iPhone and iPad screens. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a product out there that combined these two things?

Believe it or not, there is. Meet the Automee S, a tiny, round, Roomba-like robot that's built to automatically clean the screen of your smartphone or tablet in a matter of minutes. We've got a video of it in action after the fold...

The exodus continues: Home Depot drops BlackBerry for iPhone

It hasn't even been a week since we reported that Australia's Treasury Department would be trading in their BlackBerry devices for iPhones, and there's already a new story on the Canadian handset-maker losing another major enterprise customer.

The word is that Home Depot, a home improvement retail chain and the 5th largest retailer in the world, is also looking to drop their BlackBerrys in favor of Apple's popular smartphone. And the account is a big one, worth over 10,000 handsets...

Evasi0n 1.2 is out, disables OTA updates and fixes timezone bug

The evad3rs have sure been busy this week. On Monday they released version 1.0 of their jailbreak utility, and on Wednesday they rolled out version 1.1 with fixes for the Weather app and long reboot bugs.

Today, they've posted a second update to evasi0n, bringing it to version 1.2. The new update features built-in code to disable future OTA updates on your jailbroken device, and a fix for the timezone issue...

iPhone 5S and 5-inch iPhone 6 reportedly spotted at Apple supplier

The rumor mill has been on fire over the past 2 months with talk of Apple's next-generation handsets. And so far there's been 3 recurring theories: an iPhone 5S, a 'budget' iPhone for emerging markets, and an iPhone 6 with a larger 4.9-inch display.

Well today we're adding another point for the first and last theories. A new report out of China claims that both a familiar-looking iPhone 5S, and an all new iPhone 6 with a near-5-inch display have been spotted in one of Apple's supplier factories...

Vodafone UK warns iPhone 4S owners not to upgrade to iOS 6.1 due to 3G bug

Vodafone UK subscribers with an iPhone 4S who haven't upgraded to iOS 6.1 may want to hold off on doing so. The carrier is currently sending out text messages to customers stating that there's a bug in the new firmware.

According to the warning, the issue has to due with 3G performance. Apparently 4S users on Vodafone UK have been experiencing problems with both cell service and battery life since updating to the latest version of iOS...

Tamagotchi attempts comeback in upcoming iOS app

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 10 years, chances are you know what a Tamagotchi is. The digital-pet-on-a-keychain was released by video game-maker Bandai in 1996, and has since sold more than 76 million units.

The fad, however, like an unfed digital pet, has passed away in recent years. But it looks like the popular toy is getting ready to make a comeback. Bandai has announced its upcoming title for iOS and Android called Tamagotchi L.i.f.e...

Sega takes After Burner Climax to the skies on iOS

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXPDoFoauQ8

Originally released as an arcade machine way back in 1987, Sega's high-adrenaline jet fighter action, After Burner Climax, has made a jump to the iPhone and iPad (it's also coming soon to Android). The game puts you in the cockpit of the F-14D Super Tomcat, F-15E Strike Eagle or F/A-18E Super Hornet, each customizable with four paint jobs (standard paint, camouflage, special paint and low visibility).

Load your aircraft with a bunch of high-tech weapons, take off into the skies and barrel through twenty different landscapes - like volcanoes, jungles, ice caps and more. Of course, the game's really just an excuse for a bunch of orange explosions and total mayhem.

Nevertheless, fans of some heart-pounding action (gee, I sound like a PR bunny) should consider giving After Burner Climax a try...

Oh noes! Infinity Blade: Dungeons on hold as Epic shutters Impossible Studios

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KO1aaC8WCAY

Last March, Epic Games president Mike Capps joined Apple's marketing honcho Phil Schiller to announce Infinity Blade: Dungeons. After he had finished demoing work in progress code, I nearly peed my pants out of excitement. What the team was able to pull off in terms of huge environments, menacing atmosphere and eye-candy visuals was nothing short of phenomenal, leaving me salivating for more. If there ever was such a thing as a Retina iPad system seller, Infinity Blade: Dungeons would have to be it.

Then we heard the game got pushed back until some time in 2013 because implementing all these great ideas required "a little extra time". As if that weren't bad enough, Epic Games CEO has just confirmed that the project is now on hold until the company figures out its future following the closure of Impossible Studios, the team which was working on the game...

iPhone sales quadruple in India, but gap remains

When it comes to Apple's push to enter emerging markets like China, India's huge pool of consumers has largely been overlooked. Indeed, one of that country's leading newspapers charged Apple has "ignored" India, until recently.

From adopting the Indian rupee in the App Store to including local musicians in iTunes, the company has increased sales by up to 400 percent in four months. However, Apple still faces a large gap: only ten percent of India's residents own a smartphone and rival Samsung is the clear leader, researchers say...

Springtomize 2 updated with iPhone 5 support and several bug fixes

When the evasi0n website went live Monday morning, I wasted no time jailbreaking my iPhone 5. I had convinced myself that I didn't miss my tweaks very much, but as soon as I was able to, I started downloading them.

The first one I grabbed—and it's one of only a few I have installed—is Filippo Bigarella's Springtomize 2. It's probably one of the most full-featured tweaks available, and it just got updated with full support for the iPhone 5...

Ultrasn0w updated for iOS 6.1

Between the rise of third party vendors and the recent change in DMCA policy, the need for iPhone software unlocks is steadily dwindling. But that doesn't mean that the method is obsolete, as there are still many people out there with older iPhones.

And if you happen to be one of those people, you'll be happy to know that MuscleNerd has confirmed that Ultrasn0w was quietly updated this week to support iOS 6.1. So if you're on an eligible device and baseband, you can unlock on the new firmware...
