Modern Combat 5: Blackout now available in the App Store

That wait is finally over. After more than a year of delays, teasers and speculation, Gameloft's 'Modern Combat 5: Blackout' is now available in the App Store. The game, which is one of the year's most highly-anticpated titles, costs $6.99 and features no in-app purchases.

Apple’s mobile payment service may launch this fall

Apple's long-rumored mobile payment service may be ready in time for iPhone 6, according to a new report from The Information. Talks between the iPad maker and payments companies are said to be heating up, and the service is nearing completion.

Citing 'people briefed on the talks,' the outlet says that Apple executives have discussed launching a mobile wallet as soon as this fall, which will allow people to use their iPhones to buy things. Such a service has been rumored for the company for years...

The new app, Foursquare says, will be all about 'personalized local search.' No two people will have the same experience, as it will be based on a number of factors including user taste, people they follow, and places they visit. Oh yeah, and there's a whole new logo too...

Yahoo Weather now includes customizable notifications for your favorite locations

Flir One case that gives your iPhone thermal imaging capabilities goes on pre-order

An accessory maker called Flir at CES back in January announced its novel case promising to give your iPhone true thermal-imaging capabilities.

Based on technology that was formerly reserved for the military, the Flir One case brings high-end thermal imaging to your iPhone 5 or iPhone 5s, giving the iconic smartphone Predator-like vision.

The case is coming to Apple retail stores in the United States, Canada and Europe in August and today the company has started accepting pre-orders...

AMC teases new mobile game ‘The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land’

AMC and Finland-based Next Games have announced an upcoming mobile title called 'The Walking Dead: No Man's Land.'  The partners say the game will feature gameplay exclusively developed for smartphones and tablet devices.

This is the second mobile game we've seen for the popular zombie franchise, but unlike Telltale Games' Walking Dead series, which is based on the comic books, this game is based on the hit TV show. Check out the teaser trailer below...

Poll: should iPhone 6 have a lit Apple logo?

A pair of high-quality photographs of an alleged rear shell of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 obtained by uSwitch are making the rounds this morning. The popular theory is that the device may have an illuminated Apple logo on the back, similar to the logo cutout on iPads and just like Apple's MacBook series of notebooks.

Rumors of iPhones outfitted with a lit Apple logo have persisted for years, but this is the first time a concrete part has surfaced that suggests an Apple logo-shaped cutout on the back.

WSJ: Apple gearing up for record production of 70 to 80 million iPhone 6 units

Apple is gearing up for its largest initial production run of iPhones ever, according to a new report this afternoon from The Wall Street Journal. The Cupertino company is betting big on its larger-screened handsets, which it believes will garner record sales.

Citing sources "familiar with the matter," the outlet says that Apple has asked suppliers to manufacture somewhere between 70 million and 80 million units combined of two larger display iPhones, one 4.7-inch model and one 5.5-inch, by the end of December...

Samsung posts new ‘Screen Envy’ ad in response to iPhone 6 rumors

Samsung has posted a new ad to its YouTube channel this afternoon entitled 'Screen Envy.' The spot addresses rumors that the iPhone 6 will come with a larger display, saying that Samsung's Galaxy smartphones have had 5-inch screens for years.

The commercial literally opens with an iPhone user telling his friend that Apple is working on a larger-screened smartphone. The friend, who is of course using a Galaxy S5, is clearly unimpressed by the speculation, saying "that hasn't happened yet?"
