iPhone 7 pre-orders to kick off on September 9?

Last week, revered leakster Evan Blass of @EVLeaks predicted that Apple's next iPhone would launch on the week of September 12. He later clarified that he was referring to the iPhone 7's retail release—which should happen on Friday, September 16—not the launch event. Following up on his claims, Blass wrote today on Twitter that Apple will kick off pre-orders for the device on Friday, September 9.

Reports reaffirm non-moving Home button for iPhone 7 with haptic feedback simulating clicks

If you believe certain analysts, supply chain chatter and reports from outlets like Mac Otakara, Apple's next iPhone will feature an all-digital, touch-sensitive Home button flush with its front face. A pair of new rumors, first discovered by AppleInsider, have now reaffirmed that the iPhone 7's non-moving Home button won't physically click when pressed, instead simulating a click with vibration much like the trackpad on MacBooks uses haptic feedback to provide a click sensation.

Deutsche Bank analysts think iPhone 7 will ship with Lightning-to-audio dongle

The next iPhone, which sources in China think could be marketed as ‘iPhone 6SE’ to reflect its iterative nature, may ship with a Lightning-to-audio dongle and still end up selling better than the current-generation iPhone 6s, which hasn't quite lived up to Apple's internal expectations.

That's according to a Deutsche Bank research note issued to clients last week, a copy of which was obtained by Business Insider. The investment bankers also shared their predictions for the next iPhone's features, based on their supply checks.

Rumor: ‘iPhone 7’ may be called ‘iPhone 6SE’?

German blog Apfelpage.de has learned from sources in China who claim to have seen the next iPhone's packaging that the forthcoming handset will be marketed under the ‘iPhone 6SE’ moniker rather than be called ‘iPhone 7’. Although the report is somewhat sketchy, such a move may not be without its merits.

For starters, Apple is rumored to be switching to a three-year iPhone refresh cycle and, more importantly, the next iPhone seems to sport iterative enhancements and be very similar in appearance to the existing iPhone 6/6s lineup.

Rumor: iPhone 7 to launch week of September 12

Apple typically launches new iPhones in September and assuming the company sticks to its release schedule, this year should be no different. With only six or so weeks until an official introduction, prominent leakster and VentureBeat reporter, Evan Blass, posted on his @EVLeaks account on Twitter that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be released during the week of September 12. New iPhones typically go on sale on Friday, so we're guessing Friday, September 16, is our release date.

Blurry video out of China compares claimed Rose Gold iPhone 7 rear shell to iPhone 6s

Earlier in the week, a video out of China gave us a nice look into iPhone 7 dummies in Gold, Rose Gold and rumored Space Black. It's time for another iPhone 7 video as we head out into the weekend.

Brand new footage, which surfaced last evening on Chinese social media, offers yet another comparison between a claimed iPhone 7 rear shell in rose gold finish and a Rose Gold iPhone 6s.

Video: iPhone 7 mockups in Gold, Rose Gold and rumored Space Black

Many rumors surrounding Apple's upcoming  iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus suggest a refined iPhone 6s industrial design with subdued antennal lines on the backside and the usual Gold, Rose Gold and Silver finishes, with at least one source pointing at a possible Apple Watch-like Space Black variant.

Ran Avni of YouTube channel ConceptsiPhone posted an interesting video yesterday, depicting iPhone 7 mockups in Gold, Rose Gold and Space Black to give us an idea what the handset might look like when it launches this fall.

Claimed “Sonora” and “Dos Palos” iPhone 7 code-names suggest no ‘Pro’ model

The rumor-mill briefly toyed with the idea of so-called 'Pro' model being added to this year's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus lineup. We even saw claimed iPhone 7 Pro dummy case and an alleged detailed iPhone 7 Pro design schematics. On the other hand, lack of leaked iPhone 7 Pro parts casts doubt on that theory.

According to prolific leakster Evan Brass of @EVLeaks, who this morning tweeted purported iPhone 7 code-names, the iPhone 7 Pro may not be in the cards for 2016 iPhone lineup after all.

Claimed ‘iPhone 7 Pro’ shown on newly leaked photos

Dutch blog iPhoneabonnementen.com re-posted Monday some interesting new photos that allegedly show off a three-model iPhone 7 lineup consisting of the claimed 'iPhone 7', 'iPhone 7 Plus' and 'iPhone 7 Pro' models. The images were originally posted on Chinese social network Weibo by an unknown source and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Short but sweet video out of China shows iPhone 7 design similar to previous leaks

Following a bunch of photographs, most of which have been leaking out of Asia, that purport to depict various iPhone 7 components, dummy cases and molds, a fully assembled iPhone 7 case has now been caught on video.

Posted to the Chinese social network Weibo by an unknown source, and first spotted by Dutch site TechTastic.nl, the short six-second clip gives us a look at the backside of what appears to be a 4.7-inch iPhone 7.

Early CPU scores suggest modest gains for iPhone 7’s A10 chip vs. iPad Pro’s A9X

Early Geekbench 3 benchmark of the Apple-designed A10 system-on-a-chip—which will be the next iPhone and iPad's engine—was posted Thursday by Dutch blog TechTastic.nl. Purported scores suggest the device may not be much speedier than the iPhone 6s and iPad Pro. The upcoming chip scored a tad more than last year’s A9 powering the iPhone 6s series and a little bit faster than the A9X in the iPad Pro.

On the other hand, the benchmarked A10 is almost certainly a prototype unit so final scores should be higher than is currently the case.
