The next major iteration of Apple's mobile operating system, iOS, is scheduled to be previewed at the WWDC conference this summer. We already heard that certain developers have seen their apps tested on the next version of iOS, and it now seems that more and more apps are getting the iOS 5 treatment.

iOS 5 is expected to deliver awesome new features and extensively tie into Apple's rumored and upcoming cloud service. Is Apple already testing third party apps on this mysterious software?

Verizon iPhone Helps Eat into Android OS Market Share, Makes Apple 3rd Largest

While the Verizon iPhone doesn't seem as popular as Apple had expected, it has helped Cupertino in various ways.

According to NPD's quarterly results on U.S smartphone sales, the availability of the iPhone on Verizon Wireless not only bumped Apple to the third largest phone seller in the U.S, but also helped eat into Android's market share for the first time since 2009.

White iPhone 4 Prototype For Sale on eBay?

Either there are some really good counterfeits out there, or Apple is having serious problems holding onto their prototypes. In the past few weeks we've seen multiple snapshots of different unreleased iPhone models in the wild.

We saw the video of one running an unreleased version of iOS from Vietnam and then a gallery of snapshots of another on BGR. Now, 9to5Mac has discovered another prototype making its way around the internet. This time, the source is eBay, and their not just offering leaked photos, their offering the whole phone...

As we get closer to WWDC this year, expect next generation iPhone 5 rumors to really pick up (as if they haven't already). Apple's annual developers conference is set for June 6th and promises to unveil iOS 5 and hopefully provide information on the next iPhone.

Although there has been no official announcement from Apple, there has been some interesting evidence floating around the web over the last few weeks regarding the next iPhone. The latest comes from MIC Gadget, who posted some pictures this morning of the proposed iPhone 4S...

The white iPhone 4 certainly seems to be coming this week. Mounds of evidence point to an April 27th launch date for the infamous Apple smartphone, including Best Buy inventory screenshots and even leaked photos of a T-Mobile branded white iPhone 4.

Or was it an iPhone 4? More details have come to light about the mysterious device that appeared on BGR's website yesterday. The phone looked very similar to a white iPhone 4, but appeared to be running on T-Mobile's network. Apparently its color and carrier weren't the only things that made this device unique...

It's been 10 months of white iPhone 4 delays, and, starting this week, the device is supposed to be offered on both AT&T and Verizon. It's finally coming, folks!

Is This What the iPhone 5 Will Look Like?

A new report from This is my next reveals some interesting rumors about the iPhone 5. According to Joshua Topolsky (the former editor-in-chief of Engadget), the iPhone 5 will in fact be a significant redesign of the current iPhone 4.

Topolsky doesn't cite specific sources, but he claims that the iPhone 5 will have a design very similar to that of the fourth-generation iPod touch. Engadget originally said that the iPhone 5 would be a major evolution of the iPhone 4, and this report from This is my next corroborates that claim.

iPhone Won’t Have 4G Until At Least 2012

Speculation has been that Apple could possibly introduce an LTE/4G iPhone in the coming year. Some even thought that Apple pushed back the iPhone 5's announcement to wait for LTE saturation in the U.S.

Will we see an iPhone 4G this September? According to both Apple and the LTE industry, it doesn't look hopeful...

Apple Testing “iPhone 4S” With Developers, Device Will Have A5 Chip for Enhanced Gaming

Apple has already started testing prototype units of the next generation iPhone with "select" developers. We've already heard that the next iPhone will most likely sport Apple's powerful A5 processor, and 9to5Mac is reporting that the next iPhone will indeed boast the A5 chip.

The iPad 2 uses Apple's A5 processor, and Apple is bringing the A5 to the iPhone in order to improve gaming performance. Big-name gaming companies are already testing an A5-equipped iPhone "4S" to get ready for the new device's launch.

Verizon CFO Says that iPhone 5 Will Be GSM + CDMA “Global Device”

The iPhone 5 will be a dual-baseband device that operates on both GSM and CDMA networks. According to comments made by Verizon CFO Fran Shammo in the company's last quarterly earnings call, Apple's next iPhone will be a "global device" compatible with all carriers.

Shammo was the one that leaked the information that Verizon would be getting the iPad 2, so there's reason to believe his claim is true.

Fake iPhone 4 Nano Being Sold in China for $60

With rumors flying about the iPhone 5, little attention has been paid to the iPhone Nano rumors that surfaced months ago. While the U.S. has remained quiet about a future iPhone Nano device, Chinese dealers are beginning to sell knock-off iPhone 4 Nano's to the tune of about $60 U.S.

These fake, mini iPhone devices run a Java-based iOS ripoff and behave a lot like the original iPhone. Most notably, these Chinese knock-offs are about 2/3 the size of the real iPhone 4...
