Finally, Leaked iPhone 5 Components that Matter

Apple is expected to unveil its new iPhone (or phones) in the next few weeks, and as usual the rumor mill is on fire. Also right on schedule are the flurry of purported next-gen components we're seeing pop up all over the web.

But so far, the parts haven't really amounted to much. Although some differences have been noted, the pieces in general look very similar to those found in the iPhone 4. Finally, some parts have surfaced that actually matter...

iPhone N94 Prototype Front Panel Leaked, Reveals Design Very Similar to iPhone 4

Leaked iPhone components and parts have been surfacing recently, with the most recent prototype part relating to the allusive iPhone 'N94' prototype.

Rumors have been that the next iPhone will feature a larger screen with an edge-to-edge bezel, but this prototype leak indicates a LCD display completely identical to the iPhone 4. It's believed that the N94 prototype will be a cheaper model very similar to the iPhone 4, and the lower tier device is expected to rely heavily on iCloud for storage and streaming.

iPhone 4S Parts Indicate Evolutionary Design Changes

We've gotten our hands on some leaked iPhone 4S parts, courtesy of our friends at iFixitDirect. These particular parts match up with previous leaks, and we believe they indicate that the next iPhone will be an evolutionary update to the iPhone 4, rather than a completely revolutionary design change.

These iPhone parts come from the same source as the leaked white iPod touch parts we showed you earlier. We have a prototype of a lower tier iPhone 4S back and flex cable. Let's take a closer look...

New White iPod Touch Parts Surface

There has been talk of a white iPod touch joining the product line when it gets its anual refresh later this year, and a new photo has been released which appears to show parts that confirm just that.

The photo, which shows what is claimed to be a complete front screen from a white iPod touch, comes from notorious tear-down site iFixDirect...

Hard Shell Cases for the iPhone 5 Leak

A while ago, we reported that purported iPhone 5 cases have gone on sale. Today, the same thing has happened.. again.

MacRumors found this out when case manufacturer True Supplier started selling iPhone 5 cases. The cases look very similar to the other "leaked" cases out there, giving another hint at the iPhone 5's design...

iPhone 5 Battery, Camera Lens, Audio Flex Cable Allegedly Leaked

As we get closer to the iPhone 5's release in September/October, expect part leaks to start flying off supply chains overseas. This report is no exception, with an overseas iPhone parts supplier called TVC Mall leaking several alleged components of the iPhone 5.

A total of 5 parts have been leaked, including the iPhone 5's battery, rear camera lens and headphone/earphone audio flex cable...

Purported Spy Shots of the iPhone 5 in Production

Now that we're fairly confident that we're just a few weeks away from hearing an iPhone announcement, expect the rumors and blurry spy shots to kick into overdrive.

The closer we get, the more likely it is that a factory worker or carrier executive has seen the device. Keeping that in mind, there's another iPhone 5 spy shot floating around the web...

More iPhone 5 Replacement Parts Surface

We wouldn't know absolutely anything about a new iPhone based on Apple's behavior recently. Besides the mention of a "future product transition" during its last quarterly earnings call, Apple has been fairly tight-lipped about the upcoming smartphone.

One glance at iDB or any other Apple-based tech site, and it's the complete opposite. We've seen leaked cases, blurry spy shots, and leaked components, all pointing to an imminent iPhone 5 release...

Carriers Caught Testing LTE-Flavored iPhones

All of the information surrounding the iPhone 5 up to this point has suggested that Apple's next smartphone will not be LTE-capable, even though the platform currently powers Verizon's 4G network, and will soon drive AT&T's.

There's been several reasons for tech pundits and analysts to write the feature off from Apple's upcoming device, but as Alex reminded us yesterday, we really don't know anything for sure. On that note, BGR just posted evidence that an iPhone with LTE is currently in testing...

This is What the iPhone 5 Could Look Like

I know we've said this before, but these renderings of what Apple's upcoming smartphone may look like may truly be some of the best we've seen. The iPhone 5 is one of the most anticipated devices in recent years, and artists have made several attempts to predict its design.

But this particular concept wasn't constructed from pure imagination. No, this design was built using the measurements from the leaked cases that we've seen floating around. Given that case leaks have been fairly accurate in the past, could this really be what the next iPhone looks like?

Leaked Patent Application Reveals Possible iPhone 5 Design Details

By now, most of you are aware of the growing feud between Apple and Samsung. The Cupertino company believes that Samsung is infringing on their intellectual property by copying design traits of their popular iDevices.

The latest chapter in this tale of litigation has found Apple and Samsung battling it out in a Sydney courtroom. The fighting has halted shipments of Australia-bound Galaxy Tabs for the time being, and it may have also yielded details about Apple's upcoming smartphone...
