Will the iPhone 4GS Be the Fastest, Most Powerful iPhone Yet?

The iPhone 3GS was a much needed stop-gap between the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 4. It was so much faster than the iPhone 3G, that pretty much anything the iPhone 4 can handle, the iPhone 3GS can still handle adequately to this day.

In all actuality, the iPhone 3G should have been what the iPhone 3GS was from the get-go; that would have resulted in a lot more satisfied customers over the long term.

As you may have noticed, when more and more iOS updates were released, the iPhone 3G became slower and slower, leading to numerous consumer complaints. This is a testament to the fact that the iPhone 3G should have been released in the form of its beefed up big brother from the very beginning...

The Likelihood of the iPhone Appearing on T-Mobile Just Decreased With This Video

With the release of an advertisement dissing the iPhone 4 and AT&T's network, you can pretty much squash any idea of the iPhone appearing on T-Mobile's network anytime soon.

The video clip purposely takes Apple's infamous "Mac versus PC" ads, and flips the script. It features an attractive female claiming to be a MyTouch4G, while a guy struggling to support another guy on piggyback claims to be an iPhone 4. Let the hilarity ensure...

Of course the guy riding piggyback is the AT&T network, which is putting a burden on Mr. iPhone, hence slowing him down. Brilliant! The woman then touts the MyTouch's video-chat-anywhere capabilities -- courtesy of T-Mobile's 4G network -- all the while poking fun at the fact that FaceTime for the iPhone 4 only works while connected to Wi-Fi.

Obviously, all of that means nothing to us here at iDB, seeing as a simple jailbreak will allow you to use FaceTime anywhere you receive a cellular signal. Still, the ad is quite amusing, and gives Apple a nice dose of their own medicine.

Slower network or not though, at the end of the day, the MyTouch4G is still, unfortunately, a MyTouch4G.

iPhone 4 Now Shipping Within 24 Hours

Kids these days. Back in my day, we were fortunate if we got one hot meal a day. Back in my day we had to walk 12 miles to school, in the snow, with no shoes! Back in my day we had to wait a whole month for an iPhone 4!

Well, well, well, what do we have here? It only took a hair over 5 months, but the iPhone 4 has now officially caught up with demand. In fact, if you wanted one today, Apple says they can have one shipped out to you within 24 hours. Now fess up. Who here still hasn't ordered their iPhone 4?

Target is Going to Sell iPhones

"At Target we continue to offer our guests the best in electronics, so we’re happy to add iPhone to our Target Mobile offerings." The senior VP of Target merchandising has confirmed that Target is slated to be the next retail chain to sell iPhones.

The iPhone 4 and 3GS will be available at all Target locations for walk-in purchases on November 7. Target has now joined the ranks of Walmart and Best Buy as a major retail partner for iPhone. Target has also promised to have in-store activations for AT&T...

A couple days ago, Sebastien reported on a hack called FaceTime Hacktivator, which is a tweak that allows you to use FaceTime in areas where it has been banned. There are reportedly a few places in the Middle East that have restricted Apple's video calling feature, so this will prove most useful to those using iPhones in those areas.

MiddleWhat does the same thing as FaceTime Hacktivator, with one small difference. I guess you could say it takes the "middle man" out of the equation. That is, it's featured on the stock Cydia repos, so there's no need to add a separate repository just to get access to this hack. Although, if you were too lazy to add the repo reported in yesterday's article, chances are you don't care that much about FaceTime anyway.

White iPhone 4 Gone From Apple’s Online Store

We heard this might happen, but seeing is believing. Apple has totally removed any trace of the white iPhone 4 from the online store. No more "coming soon," it's just gone.

There are now just three flavors of iPhone's advertised on the Apple store, the Black 8GB 3GS, the Black 16GB iPhone 4, and the 32GB Black iPhone 4. Of course, this will inevitably change with the next iteration of the device -- the iPhone 5. Hmm, Verizon anyone?

Concierge, Scout, and iQueue – Apple’s Internal Apps get a Makeover

The Apple Store app has been updated to support location based check-in and reservation services for customers at Apple Stores. These Foursquare-like check-ins will help customers find Apple employees to assist them while their shopping.

Genius Bar reservations can also be confirmed through location based check-ins from customers. The 1.1 update was pushed this morning. This new feature in the Apple Store app will interface with Apple employee's internal apps, like Concierge.

Since the release of the iPhone 4 and its brilliant Retina Display, the amount of available themes for jailbreakers has been greatly diminished. First, the jailbreak for iOS 4 took some time, and once it happened it seemed no one was quick to convert their existing themes to match the stunning Retina Display quality. Is AT&T Preparing to Lose iPhone Exclusivity?

With the rumors flying again that Verizon might be getting a CDMA iPhone sometime next year, it looks like AT&T might be getting ready for life after iPhone exclusivity. Bloomberg notes that AT&T has been ramping up new smartphones on their network.

FaceTime Comes Back To The Mac

Okay, so it was never on the Mac to begin with, but who didn't see that coming? At Apple's 'Back To The Mac' event this afternoon -- or morning, depending on where you call home -- FaceTime was announced for Mac OS X. This means that all of those with iPhone 4's just got a few million more potential friends to talk to via Apple's suddenly ubiquitous social service.
