Amazon’s cloud-based music service finally hits iPhone

Amazon launched its cloud-based music player and an accompanying Android app a little more than a year ago.

Though users on Apple's platform have been able to access the web-based version of Cloud Player using the Safari browser on iOS devices, the online retailer wouldn't release a native iOS app until now...

Verizon putting new shared data plans into effect beginning June 28

AllThingsD reports that Verizon is about to throw down the gauntlet to its rivals in the United States by introducing a big change to how it charges customers for wireless services.

Instead of charging people based on their voice minutes spent and text messages sent, the big red carrier will "almost exclusively" invoice users based on how much data they are using.

The new plans are said to go into effect June 28 and will reportedly be the only option available to new customers...

The new Maps app is the premier new feature in iOS 6. Although I was a bit skeptical at first after seeing some early screenshots, I'm a definite believer after giving it some hands-on time. It is rightfully so that the new Maps app is Apple's most compelling upgrade to iOS.

Maps is leaps and bounds above anything offered in the previous Google powered Maps app. With 3D views, turn by turn navigation, and full integration with Siri, Maps is a truly amazing package. What do you think about it?

New in iOS 6: a new Clock app for the iPad

Finally. There is now a Clock app included with iOS 6 on the iPad. I guess having Siri on the iPad forced Apple's hand. But this isn't just any old ordinary Clock app, Apple went the extra mile and created a downright beautiful interface that puts the iPhone Clock app to shame.

Even the icon on the iPad version of the Clock app looks much better. Check inside for a handful of new images showcasing the Clock app and all of its various features...

This is what Siri looks like on the new iPad

Since Apple introduced Siri last fall, folks have been going through great lengths to install it on other devices. But Apple has continued to keep the feature exclusive to the iPhone 4S. Until now, that is.

Along with a number of other Siri-related announcements this morning, Apple announced that iOS 6 would be bringing the digital assistant to the latest iPad. So you know iDB had to go hands-on...

Poll: is iOS 6 everything you hoped for?

Though it's too early to tell if it's any good until we get our hands on it, iOS 6 was definitely the star of the show at Apple's WWDC keynote that just got wrapped up. While we're still digesting the announcements ourselves, iOS 6 definitely seems to be another worthwhile upgrade.

Granted, it's an evolution of the world's most popular mobile operating system rather than a revolution, but no one said it would be in the first place.

We also noticed that Apple really stick it to Google with the new Maps app which comes fully loaded with all the features one would expect from a mapping app.

So what about you, did you like the announcements? Please take a few second of your time to cast a vote in our poll, should be fun...

Siri receives major upgrades for iOS 6 and is officially coming to iPad

Siri has received a major update with iOS 6. She can now provide sport scores for the NBA, NFL, etc. She can also tell you batting averages for specified baseball players, and provide arbitrary information like the height differences between basketball players. And this is just the very tip of the iceberg. There's also integration with Rotten Tomatoes to highlight movie reviews, and even watch trailers from within Siri.

Even better is the fact that the iPad is now officially receiving Siri support!

Photos of purported 7-inch iPad surface

If this morning's prospects of getting a glimpse at iOS 6 and new Mac hardware aren't exciting enough for you, maybe this will pique your interest. We've come across some photos of what appears to be the rumored 7-inch iPad.

Rumors that Apple is working on an "iPad Mini" have really ramped up in the last 6 months, gaining support from credible news outlets and Apple insiders alike. But so far, we've yet to see any real evidence of the project...

Apple to announce two new iOS apps today

According to Fox News’ Clayton Morris, Apple will unveil two new iOS apps today. We told you about one app already called Organize a virtual pocket of sorts.

According to sources, the Organize app is designed to hold your credit card information, coupons, travel information and other personal information. If the description is anything to go by, the Organize app should hopefully help create a rumored iWallet solution...

Deck HD is coming to a jailbroken iPad near you

When I took the original version of Deck for a spin, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Here was a tweak that sought to add quick access to your favorite apps, settings, and toggles, and had the nerve to look good while doing so.

Deck also proved to be fairly popular with our readers and viewers, as our original video demonstration gained well over 100,000 views on YouTube.

Since Deck is an iPhone/iPod touch only tweak, what about the iPad users that would love to give SBCoders' hotbar tweak a try?
