Meet the ChargeKey, one of the smallest Lightning cables we’ve ever seen

Well they've done it again. The folks that revolutionized ultra-portable USB charging cables with the ChargeCard are back with an all-new, and [perhaps] even more convenient iOS device accessory called the ChargeKey.

As the name insinuates, the ChargeKey is essentially a Lightning-to-USB cable reduced down to the size of a house key. And its small size enables you to attach it to your car/house keys, ensuring that it's always nearby...

Apple may be unable to cope with Retina iPad mini demand, says Cook

In addition to the iPad's outstanding (yet perfectly plausible) 94 percent share in education (bonus: other amazing stats), Apple's boss Tim Cook cautioned Wall Street analysts and investors on an earnings call that not everyone may get their hands on an iPad mini with Retina display when it starts shipping in late-November.

It gets worse: he wasn't confident in Apple's ability to make enough Retina iPad minis to satisfy Christmas quarter demand either...

Belkin launches new iPad Air accessories, too

One of the top accessory makers and among the leading players in the Apple accessories ecosystem, Logitech, today announced four new keyboard cases and covers designed specifically for Apple's upcoming iPad Air.

However, Logitech's arch-enemy Belkin earlier telegraphed an announcement of its own. A whole bunch of new iPad Air-specific accessories are part of Belkin's announcement, including three new Bluetooth keyboard models from Belkin's Qode lineup, one of them apparently made from an "aircraft-grade aluminum alloy".

November 1 iPad Air launch will include in-store Personal Pickup

When Apple's new iPad Air launches in the United States and a few dozen international markets this coming Friday, customers will be able to order their device online for in-store delivery, ready to be collected in person at a nearby store rather than wait for it to be shipped to your doorstep.

That's the word in the blogosphere and subsequently confirmed by iDB with our own plugged-in sources and made public by Apple's online Store.

The not-so-unexpected development indicates Apple's confidence in its ability to meet iPad Air demand on day one, despite launching the device across a whole bunch of markets simultaneously...

Logitech launches new iPad Air cases and keyboard covers

Accessory maker Logitech today announced a brand new lineup of Folio cases, Bluetooth keyboard cases and protective covers specifically designed for Apple's newly-launched iPad Air, which goes on sale this coming Friday. The Ultrathin Keyboard Folio and Cover, the FabricSkin Keyboard Folio and the Folio Protective Case are all now available for pre-order today and slated to ship in November. I've included more information and a few images right after the break...

Wall Street expects: 33.4M iPhones, 15M iPads, 4.3M iPods, 4.6M Macs

Wall Street expects Apple to return to its usual hit parade later today, announcing record iPhone sales and perhaps giving some insight into how the tech giant's first ever introduction of two iPhones in one year performed. The iPhone maker could announce 33.4 million iPhones sold during the three-month period, a 24 percent jump from the same quarter in 2012.

Although the iPhone 5s/5c were sold for just a week during the quarter ended September 28, analysts hope to divine whether sales of the iPhone 5c are catching up to the flagship iPhone 5s and if record first weekend sales of nine million units had legs.

The Street also anticipates iPod revenue numbers, which one report suggests could sound the death note for the iconic digital music device...

Popular VNC client ‘Screens’ updated with AirPlay Mirroring and more

Popular iOS VNC client 'Screens' has received a huge update this weekend, bringing the app to version 3.1. For those unfamiliar with it, the app allows you to connect to your Mac or Windows PC from your iOS device.

Screens 3.1 brings about a number of new features, improvements and bug fixes. On the feature front, the app now supports the A7's new 64-bit tech (for compatible devices), AirPlay Mirroring, and Hot Corners on Mac...

US Cellular to begin carrying iPad Air on November 8

Following news yesterday that the iPad Air will be heading to regional US providers like Bluegrass Cellular and C Spire Wireless, US Cellular announced that it too would be landing the new tablet.

The carrier, which is the fifth-largest in the United States, says it plans to launch the Air alongside the iPhone 5s and 5c in November. So subscribers may want to start getting their wallets out now...

iPad Air coming to regional telcos GCI, Bluegrass Cellular and C Spire Wireless

As Apple is prepping to unleash its newly-announced iPad Air in a massive 42 markets come next Friday, some regional United States wireless carriers are now modestly confirming their vague plans for Apple's new device. GCI, Bluegrass Cellular and C Spire Wireless - which already carry the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c in their stable - confirmed Friday that the 9.7-inch iPad Air is coming to their respective networks when it debuts "in the coming weeks".

Bluegrass Cellular and C Spire Wireless combined cover much of the southern United States, including Mississippi, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Kentucky areas...

Research shows second generation iPad still selling extremely well

During our iPad event roundtable on this week's Let's Talk Jailbreak, we noted how surprised we were to see that Apple is going to continue selling the iPad 2. Why does the company insist on keeping the two year-old tablet around?

The answer, according to marketing research firm Consumer Intelligence Research Partners, is because the device is still selling extremely well. Their data shows that the second-gen iPad made up 22% of Apple's tablet sales this quarter...

Some Apple Stores now carrying non-Retina iPad mini in Space Gray

Alongside the new iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display, Apple announced a small update for the first-gen iPad mini on Tuesday. The (non-Retina) tablet has been given a small price reduction, and a new 'Space Gray' colorway.

And according to a new report, some retail stores have quietly begun stocking these new minis on their shelves—meaning they're now available for purchase. So if you're interested, it might be worth checking your local Apple Store...

Walmart to start selling 16GB Wi-Fi iPad Air with $20 discount on November 1

Walmart offered notable discounts on Apple gear in the past, most recently on the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, and they're about to do it again with the forthcoming iPad Air.

It was only two days ago that Apple unveiled the device, alongside the iPad mini with Retina display and other hardware and software notables.

Still, already Walmart is first to advertise that it will start selling the entry-level $499 iPad Air with a $20 discount beginning November 1...
