More evidence that iPad 3 production is in full swing

It seems like it's been raining iPad 3 rumors over the past couple of days. Yesterday we heard that the upcoming tablet may not include the quad-core processor we've been anticipating. And we also saw a purported image of the slate's backing.

Then last night, both 9to5Mac and Apple.pro posted photos of what they claim to be next-generation iPad components. The pictures show both the front and the back of the tablet's shell, as well as what appears to be Smart Cover magnets...

iPad 3 rumored A6 processor to be Dual-Core, not Quad-Core as hoped?

Today, more details about the upcoming iPad 3 emerged, when Fix iPhones showed us the supposed back of the iPad 3. In the report, it was noted that the iPad 3 was to have an updated camera, larger battery, and new screen.

To add to the rumors earlier, The Verge has come out with a new report, saying that the iPad 3's rumored A6 processor will be dual-core, and not quad-core as people have hoped...

Supposed iPad 3 Backing Reveals Subtle Changes

The iPad 3 has been rumored to launch sometime this Spring, but there haven't been many other rumors besides that. In a new report from Fix iPhones, they show us the supposed backing of the iPad 3 compared to the iPad 2, demonstrating that the new tablet will apparently only have a few subtle changes.

The most biggest changes Fix iPhones found was the possibility of a new screen and larger battery...

Rumor: iPad 3 to Launch in March [Updated]

If you wished for another iPad 3 launch rumor when you woke up this morning, then you're in for a stroke of luck.

According to the oft-accurate Japanese blog Macotakara, Apple will announce the third generation iPad at an event due to be held in March, with a release date to come after that announcement.

With presumably a couple months or so until the iPad 3 hits the shelves, I think we are way overdue for some good old rumors about Apple's upcoming tablet.

Today's rumor is brought to you courtesy of BGR, who apparently got their hands on some images from a source claiming to be in possession of an iPad 3. If I haven't lost you yet, then keep on reading because there seems to be some good sense to all this...

Case Makers Already Churning Out iPad 3 Covers

Although we've heard conflicting rumors over the last few months regarding Apple's next tablet, a majority of them seem to agree on one thing: appearance. The consensus is that the iPad 3 will look extremely similar to its predecessor, albeit a bit thicker.

Case manufacturers even seem to be fairly confident in the gossip, as they're already starting to churn out iPad 3 covers that fall in line with the chatter. But if the rumor mill has taught us anything in the past, it's that the case manufacturers don't always get it right...

Rumor: iPad 3 to Debut in February, Launch in Early March

According to sources for Macotakara, Apple will unveil the iPad 3 in early February. The Japanese blog, which has a hit-and-miss track record, adds that the third iteration of the iPad will launch a month later, in early March.

These claims reiterate an earlier report from Bloomberg, which also suspects that the iPad 3 will debut in February in time for a March launch...

Expect “GarageBand for eBooks” From Apple’s Event This Thursday

Last week, Apple sent out invitations for a New York-based media event set to take place on January 19th. They read: "Join us for an education announcement in the Big Apple." But what could Apple be announcing?

As The Wall Street Journal points out, the iPad was originally pitched as a device that would transform the classroom experience — a promise that has yet to materialize. But that could change this Thursday...

Rumor: Bloomberg Says Next iPad Will be LTE-Capable

We've heard an assortment of rumors over the last month or so regarding Apple's upcoming tablet release. A majority of them seem to agree that a new iPad will debut sometime between late February and early March of this year.

As far as features go, however, the gossip has been all over the place. 7" screen, 10" screen, Siri, quad-core processor — we've heard it all. And now Bloomberg has entered the mix, claiming that Apple's next tablet will be LTE-capable...

Rumor: iPad 3 Already in Production for Early March Release

The latest rumor from Japanese blog Macotakara claims that production for the next-generation iPad has already begun, and that Apple is expected to ship the product by early March. Foxconn and Pegatron are reportedly manufacturing the iPad 3 as we speak, and Foxconn is responsible for 85% of the supplies.

According to the report, initial shipments are scheduled to go out in early March, corroborating early claims from different sources. Apple is expected to hold a low-key media event at the end of January, but no dates have been given for other events in the coming months.

Rumor: Hands-On With iPad 3 Shell Reveals Familiar Design, Improved Cameras

As he has done in the past, Jeremy Horwitz of iLounge has claimed to have seen the rear shell of the next-generation iPad. He also revealed a prototype shell of the iPad 2 during CES last year and correctly predicted the tablet's basic upgrades and features.

This time, Horwitz has followed up on his previous iPad 3 report with the claim that he has touched the rear shell of Apple's next-generation iPad. He notes that the exterior design of the device hasn't changed, but he does expect better cameras and a higher-quality screen.
