This tweak breaks down cellular data usage from uninstalled apps

Unlimited data plans are everywhere these days, but a significant percentage of the population still uses capped plans. Anyone in the latter category likely pays closer attention to their monthly data usage than unlimited users do. But in any case, iOS’ native cellular data monitoring system leaves a lot to be desired.

Fortunately, a new free jailbreak tweak called ShowGoneCellularData by iOS developer Kevin Muller can help. This tweak compels iOS to display detailed cellular data usage stats for apps you’ve previously removed.

Add powerful new features to the Now Playing interface with Apace 2

If you appreciated the first Apace jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Andreas Henriksson, then you’ll likely have a sweet spot for its iOS 11-compatible successor: Apace 2 (iOS 11).

Apace 2 augments your iOS handset’s Now Playing interface with features relevant to the app you use to listen to your favorite tunes. Whether you’re partial to Spotify, Deezer, or the native Music app, you could potentially benefit from what Apace 2 brings to the table.

Ahead of iOS 12 launch, iOS 11 adoption rate now tops 85 percent

Nearly a year after it was first released, the iOS 11 adoption rate now stands at 85 percent, according to updated statistics on Apple's App Store support page for developers. In May, the last time the chart was updated, the adoption rate for iOS 11 stood at 81 percent. The latest stats show that 10 percent of iOS devices now use iOS 10, while the rest are on older iOS versions.

Rollectra/SemiRestore11 receives another update with safer execution methods

Hot off the heels of a Rollectra/SemiRestore11 update this Labor Day weekend, developer and ex-Electra Team member Pwn20wnd has released another update to the un-jailbreaking tool on Tuesday. The latest update brings the utility’s version number up to 1.1.2.-1.

In case you’re in need of a refresher, the update that dropped on Labor Day weekend added support for iOS 11.3-11.4.X devices that had been jailbroken with Electra. Furthermore, it added a new option for un-jailbreaking your handset without losing your user data.

Jailbreak Tweaks to check out

The jailbreak community hasn’t missed a beat since the Electra Team released its Electra1131 jailbreak tool. That said, we’ve seen several exciting jailbreak tweak releases.

This weekly roundup will encompass all the jailbreak tweaks released from August 27th to September 2nd. As usual, we’ll kick things off by talking about our favorite releases first and outline the rest afterward.

ColorFlow 4 brings album artwork-centric color schemes to iOS 11’s Now Playing interface

A handful of jailbreak tweaks have been released in recent memory that colorize the Now Playing interface in iOS 11, but one of the newest is ColorFlow 4 (iOS 11) by iOS developer David Goldman.

With ColorFlow 4 installed, the Now Playing interface adopts new color schemes that match the dominant colors of your album artwork. The animated GIF above depicts a few examples of how the tweak works on both the Lock screen and the native Music app.

Rollectra/SemiRestore11 update brings support for iOS 11.3-11.4.x, adds improvements

Electra is the primary way to achieve a jailbreak on iOS 11 these days, but it’s still a great idea to have an un-jailbreak tool handy just in case something goes wrong. Rollectra/SemiRestore11, released in July by former Electra Team member Pwn20wnd, quickly filled these shoes. It utilized APFS snapshots to revert any device pwned with Electra to a stock state.

As of this week, however, Pwn20wnd released an updated version of the tool. Version 1.1-2 is available both as an upgrade in Cydia and as a separate jailed package that can be side-loaded even when you aren’t in a jailbroken state.

YouRespring lets you give your handset’s respring screen a fresh coat of paint. It replaces the traditional black screen with the central white spinner you see above with any animated GIF that you might fancy having as your respring screen.

View how many characters you’ve typed in the Notes app with countingNotes

The iPhone’s native Notes app has received a multitude of changes in some of the most recent iterations of iOS, but one thing Apple always falls short of adding is a character counter.

Most of the text editors and word processors available today incorporate some form of fundamental support for character or word counting, and so it’d be nice if the Notes app fell into that category. Fortunately, a new free jailbreak tweak called countingNotes by iOS developer CydiaGeek can make it happen.

Have more fun in phone calls with VoiceChanger X

Back in 2013, iOS developer Elias Limneos surprised the jailbreak community when he released one of the world’s first live voice changer jailbreak tweaks for the iPhone. VoiceChanger allowed you to have some fun with your phone calls by adjusting the pitch of your voice in real-time. Unfortunately, it was never updated for iOS 11.

But that all changed this week following the release of VoiceChanger X. Now, you can re-live the same entertainment you may have experienced in 2013 on your pwned iOS 11 handset.

Notepad lets you type notes to yourself directly from the Lock screen

Random events happen throughout the day, sometimes prompting you to jot things down in your Notes app, so you don’t forget them. But wouldn’t it be great if you type notes to yourself without having to unlock your handset?

Notepad is a new jailbreak tweak by iOS developers NeinZedd9 and Ayden Panhuyzen that makes this possible. The tweak adds an easily-accessible note-taking interface directly to the Lock screen so you can begin typing notes whenever you need to.

EvanescoXI brings focus to your Home screen wallpaper after inactivity

A couple of years ago, we showed you a jailbreak tweak called Evanesco by iOS developer CP Digital Darkroom that dimmed your Home screen icons after prolonged inactivity and brought your wallpaper into focus.

To those who missed this tweak, we have good news: EvanescoXI is now available in Cydia and in reincarnates many of the best features from the original tweak for jailbroken iOS 11 devices.
